No one at our campsite liked the pizza.

Everyone was friendly and fun. The dining area looked clean and inviting. The service was good. The pizza was not. I ordered a Large Mama Special (?) and the crust was wet and practically raw. Bummed me out because it cost over $35! One way to fix that wiggly crust would be to pre-cook the veggies so the liquid content doesn't affect the crust the way it did. Another way would be to cook it longer - letting the crust crisp up. Just a suggestion folks. I'm not sure if it was an "off" day - I was camping across the street - but, I would be willing to give it a second try.

Dreadful. I don't know how they have such positive reviews. This is bowling alley quality pizza for outrageous prices. I paid $25 for a plain medium pie ($35 after delivery fees!!!) to get such a subpar pizza. The only good thing is that they deliver, since most other pizza places in the area don't. Avoid.

For delivery, Mamma Maria's is tops! Huge portions that'll feed you right. The Italian Hero made multiple people in my framily very happy (and these folks are...particular...when it comes to a proper Italian Hero!). Their bread is really good. Pasta dishes (we had ravioli and Chicken Parm) were both solid. The most impressive part was how fast the delivery arrived considering it was a large family order (everything in the order was correct and arrived at proper temperature) + the delivery guy having to go through the folks at the gate + our rental house being another 5 mins drive from the gate. And the delivery guy respected the 'No Contact' delivery request. If we're ever vacationing in the area again, we know what our first night meal will be!

Im so happy I found this place. My kids love pizza and I must say , I truly enjoyed it myself. The garlic knots are delicious. But ofcourse if you are in Pa, you have to try a Philly cheese steak, you won't be disappointed. They just have order for pickup or delivery.

Party of 20 showed up out of the blue. Sweet vibe in here, adorable waitress and waiter. The garlic rolls were fabulous, eggplant on the money but my favorite was the Grandma Pie which I never even heard of before! Delicious! Sorry we ate most of it before i took a picture! Highly recommend!

My wife and I were in town for the weekend on vacation and stopped here because of the yelp review. Right now it's only open for takeout and I guess delivery. We got the grandmas pizza because of the reviews on here. It was delicious. It didn't LOOK as good as it did in the photos here, and the crust was softer than I expected, but it was delicious. We also got the "spaghetti and chicken parm" but substituted fettuccini. It was excellent. We were both impressed. Overall, I'd say it was an enthusiastic 4 :)

Despite not having a reservation, we were able to be seated. But I do suggest planning ahead and reserving a table. Especially if you visit during high season. Anyhow, the service was excellent. Our server, Sam was extremely attentive. She explained the menu to you and shared some recommendations. We started out with a Caesar salad to share and knew right then that the servings would be ample! The kitchen was kind enough to split the salad for us between two plates and I'd have thought just half was shareable. But lucky us, plenty to indulge. We absolutely LOVED the dressing but found it a slight tad heavy handed. If we make it back, we'd definitely ask for dressing on the side. But nonetheless we appreciated the authentic Caesar dressing complete with anchovy paste. For entrees we had the penne vodka with sausage and shrimp 360. Both plates were big enough to feed an army and made for nice left overs. But make no mistake, both were delicious! Hit it out of the park, delicious! And beautiful al denté pasta. This meal really hit the spot. Even though we were completely stuffed, we managed to find room for homemade pumpkin cheesecake! I don't say this lightly, but it was hands down the best slice of cheesecake I've ever had. We couldn't stop raving about out it! This is a great restaurant to visit when visiting the Poconos. The setting was elegant in an understated way while being incredibly cozy! I think it would be great for larger groups but also intimate enough for couples.

It was founded by members of the Pipolo family, including Bill Jr. and his wife Kim. The Pipolo family, including father Bill Sr. and mother Fabiana, had moved to the Poconos area from the Bronx, New York in 1984. Bill Sr. had a construction business which sons Bill Jr. and Peter worked in after graduating from high school. Bill Jr. first had some experience in the hospitality business when he owned the Calico Kitchen in Canadensis. When a location formerly home to Harrison's Tavern became available, the Pipolo family acquired it with the intention of turning it into an authentic Italian restaurant. The whole building was completely redesigned to resembled a trattoria in an Italian mountain village. Basso became a full Pipolo family endeavor. Even the grandchildren can be seen greeting guests and bussing tables from time to time. Bill Jr. and Peter later purchased the former Jagermeister German restaurant down the street and turned it into the PourHouse Neighborhood Bar & Grille after a renovation. My family and I visited Basso for dinner on a recent trip to the Poconos. We had previously visited the Pipolos' other restaurant, The PourHouse, and were excited to try their take on authentic Italian fare. The interior was nice and cozy. After looking over the menu, my wife and I decided to start out with some cocktails. I had the "Limoncello Spritzer" while she had the "Peach Berry Pink Sangria". Both were very refreshing! For our entrees, I had the "Pork Chop Di Parma" (juicy 12-oz. pork chop topped with prosciutto and red wine demi-glaze served over risotto), my wife had the "Cherry Red Shrimp" (sautéed shrimp with garlic, cherry tomatoes in a fresh basil butter sauce over linguine), our older son had "Tortelloni with a Pink Sauce", and our younger son had "Baked Ziti". Although the wait for the food was a little long, it was well worth it because everything was to die for! Our server was also very friendly and helpful. It's also worth noting that parking is very limited, so definitely try to stop in on the early side. We had an excellent experience at Basso and give them our seal of approval!

Kids got their food 30 minutes before the adults, so they were finished by the time the adults' food arrived. Inaccuracies, even after taking so long. Way too salty, some things pre-prepared/reheated (chicken parm especially egregious) but still arrived cold. "100 layer lasagna bolognese" was literally a generic mountain of basic salty meat sauce with a little linguine. It's garbage. They know it. They think that giving you a bucket of it will make up for it. It does not. At least it was hot, which is apparently a bar they typically are unable to reach. Waiter was MIA. Food service was wandering with dishes, unaware of what table they were going to. Especially frustrating when you've been waiting an hour for your order. Our large group was promised a full table in a room. They sat us at two awkward, separate tables in the middle of the restaurant. This is while we can clearly see multiple, empty rooms during our entire 2 1/2 hour time there. They claim the food is authentic Italian. It was so bad all around, that if I was Italian, I'd be offended. Overpriced slop.
