Garlic wings that didn't taste like garlic

We're staying in the Poconos, Pennsylvania and we wanted to food delivery. We decided to order from Bella Villa Pizza. The delivery was really fast! The prices were pretty standard. We were disappointed with the food. The garlic wings had very little flavor. We ordered a salad with steak and what showed up looked was ground beef instead. The worst part is they actually asked me how I wanted the steak cooked. I requested medium...But what arrived was definitely ground beef. The kids spaghetti and meatballs seemed to be good. My daughter ate every bite. The eggplant parmigiana was good but could have done without the pasta sauce they used. The sauce lacked flavor. The menu promised bread but didn't come with the actual order. I'm not sure if that was a mistake or false advertising. We won't order from here again.

The food here is amazing!!! Hands down the best in town! The price is affordable and a friendly environment. Me and my dad just moved here from NY and the pizza, wings, garlic knots and pasta was outta this world! Just like back home. Last nite my dad ordered chicken parm and I got penne a la vodka. The food was so good that we came back today for lunch and ordered the lunch special which was pizza, wings, garlic knots . Everything is made fresh to order. If your hungry and looking for a good bite to eat come to Bella Villa .

These must be pigeon wings and the buffalo sauce was disgusting

We pass this area occasionally. Stopped in. Nicest people. Great pizza. We'll stop here first lunch every time we are in the area!

Kids got their food 30 minutes before the adults, so they were finished by the time the adults' food arrived. Inaccuracies, even after taking so long. Way too salty, some things pre-prepared/reheated (chicken parm especially egregious) but still arrived cold. "100 layer lasagna bolognese" was literally a generic mountain of basic salty meat sauce with a little linguine. It's garbage. They know it. They think that giving you a bucket of it will make up for it. It does not. At least it was hot, which is apparently a bar they typically are unable to reach. Waiter was MIA. Food service was wandering with dishes, unaware of what table they were going to. Especially frustrating when you've been waiting an hour for your order. Our large group was promised a full table in a room. They sat us at two awkward, separate tables in the middle of the restaurant. This is while we can clearly see multiple, empty rooms during our entire 2 1/2 hour time there. They claim the food is authentic Italian. It was so bad all around, that if I was Italian, I'd be offended. Overpriced slop.

While the food was a little too salty for me, I still really enjoy my penne vodka. Our server was super friendly abd not overly attentative. I called Brother Bruno's Pizza when we got in line at Walmart to check out and ordered two large plain pies. I was told 10 minutes and I said that I needed more time (I've never had such a slow cashier before (who then just left before the person in front of me was to begin)) so he said 15 minutes. We definitely got there late (it's less than five minutes away from the Walmart in a strip mall center) and the pizzas were ready. $18 each. The place is almost like any regular pizza place with a few booths. They also have Italian favorite dishes among other choices. There was no one in the place after 8pm when we picked up our pizzas. The smell of the pizzas was great on the way back to our rental. When we got home, it was dive right in. Great thinner crust with good cheese and sauce. Very enjoyable. Can't say anything bad about Brother Bruno's Pizza. It appeared clean, the food tasted good (we only had the pizza), and they were fast although they were not busy with other customers. I stopped in December of 2021 so as you can see, it's been quite some time since then and I need to get back up there and do a re-visit. The guy behind the counter was pretty much a typical pizza place employee...not what I'd call "friendly", not unfriendly...just adequate. Maybe 6-8 tables inside but mostly geared towards takeout. So a slice and a soda was over $6, so that was a bit concerning out of the gate, but I don't just based on stuff like that solely. I enjoyed the slice. There was a nice char underneath which I love, good snap to the crust, it was nice and thin, good cheese to sauce ratio. Not much else I can really say about it other than I'm due to head back in. If you're just looking for a slice though, Brother Bruno's - DIdn't Suck!

The live music on Sunday was also really good. We ordered the Godfather roll, filet, ribeye, broccoli and cheese, and wedge salad. All very good and the cocktails were also top notch. 8/10 experience and I recommend (keep in mind we're used to DC prices). I say this in the fact that the prices are pretty steep, but worth it I just made a mistake. We're a little bit more seasoned for my taste buds. Otherwise, great steak house and experiences. Honorable mention for the volcano sushi,....ir was on point as ssooo good!!

I'd absolutely include it because it reinforces the theme: the product was excellent; the hospitality and pacing killed the experience. The food was honestly the best part of the night -- a solid 4.5/5. Unfortunately, the overall experience was nowhere near what we expected from a restaurant at this price point. We started with the calamari, which was excellent. The giardiniera with it was an unexpected flavor combination that I loved. They also brought out an enormous loaf of fresh-baked Asiago bread with butter -- way more than two people needed, but damn, it was good. Both came out within minutes of ordering. We also ordered the cherry-smoked Old Fashioneds, and they were fantastic. Probably one of the best things we had all night. The presentation was really impressive: instead of simply smoking the glass, the cocktail arrived inside a glass box filled with smoke. The server placed it in front of us and we opened the door ourselves, letting the smoke roll out around the drink. Really cool presentation, and the cocktail tasted every bit as good as it looked. The problem? It took nearly 30 minutes to get them. They were so good I absolutely would have ordered a second round, but after waiting that long for the first one, we weren't willing to chance it. That's a missed sale and, more importantly, a missed part of the experience. In fact, we had finished our calamari before our drinks ever arrived. From the time we were seated, it took close to 10 minutes for our server to return for our drink and appetizer order, and then nearly another 30 minutes for the cocktails -- even after we reminded her. Our server was very sweet, but the interaction felt extremely scripted rather than genuine. We heard essentially the exact same questions and phrases repeated word-for-word at the tables on either side of us. She was also very slow getting back to us throughout the meal. For dinner, we shared the ribeye and Caesar salad because we were hoping to save room for dessert -- it was my birthday. The steak was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. At $60, it was exactly what I expected it to be. The Caesar was huge and very good. Everything we ate was delicious, although the food presentation felt surprisingly basic for the type of restaurant Double Cut positions itself to be. The bigger disappointment started before we even sat down. When we arrived, there were several people waiting and no host anywhere in sight. Multiple employees walked past carrying to-go orders without acknowledging anyone or even saying someone would be right with us. Because the entrance also serves Red's Piano Bar, we actually started wondering whether we were even in the right place. When the host finally appeared, there was no hello, no smile, no welcome. Just, "Do you have a reservation?" We gave him our name and were told, very matter-of-factly, that we would have to wait a few minutes. Five minutes later, he returned and led us directly into Red's Piano Bar. That was not what we had reserved. We specifically made a reservation at Double Cut for a quieter, elevated birthday dinner. Instead, we were being seated in a loud bar with red lighting, TVs on the walls and a table just feet from the bar. When we explained that our reservation was for Double Cut, we were told it was the same menu and that if we didn't sit there, we would have to wait considerably longer. So we sat. And frankly, that pretty much took the air out of the evening. Brian had planned a nice, romantic birthday dinner for me. Instead, we were sitting in a bar booth while he tried not to watch the baseball game playing on the TVs. It felt more like sitting in the bar area of a Chili's -- except without the Chili's hospitality or Chili's prices. Even the person who delivered our steak simply asked us to cut into it, said "enjoy," and walked away. No smile. No warmth. Completely transactional. Needless to say, we didn't stay for birthday dessert. We ate what we had ordered, paid the bill and left. The frustrating part is that the kitchen and bar are clearly doing a lot right. The food was genuinely very good, and that cherry-smoked Old Fashioned was outstanding. But at this price point, you're not just paying for a steak and a great cocktail. You're paying for hospitality, atmosphere, pacing and an experience. That part missed the mark by a mile.

The service has always been top notch when we were there. The food is always outstanding. Donald is the best waiter in the world ... he deserves a raise !!!!!! Although a nice feature is that you can reserve a table and available time through the Mount Airy website, which links you to a commonly used site called OpenTable. As a quick note, if you are a seafood lover with Italian food, then this may be your place to be. Unfortunately I am not a seafood fan, but I thought that there were still enough menu options to try this restaurant out. To start off, our waiter was not very knowledgable about the menu or drinks they offer. Not only this, he never offered to ask a manager or even a more experienced waiter/waitress about the menu. For a small place with very many employees just standing around, this should have not been an issue. The restaurant itself was very nice, but pretty small. It actually seemed like the spaced allotted to the restaurant was shared with the steakhouse. If you combined the size of the steakhouse and this Italian restaurant, you would have a nice sized restaurant. After we finally sorted out the drinks and menu, since there was olive oil and seasoning on the table, we thought we would be treated to bread as you normally are at Italian restaurants. Well besides the bread taking forever to come, we had to serve the olive oil and seasoning ourselves and we were only given the option to choose 1 piece of bread each off of a tray. The bread was warm and delicious, but I would have liked to enjoy more than one piece! I had to actually ask for another piece of bread to be brought over. I never thought I would go to an Italian restaurant that had bread rationing. Not only this, I've had better service at Carabba's or even the Olive Garden and they are not even considered fine dining! Next, it took almost an hour of waiting for our food to be delivered. Sitting in front of the kitchen, I could not find an excuse for this since the chefs were basically just standing around the entire time. Thankfully we were given our desert for free without contest for the wait. However, the excuse was lame and was blamed on a party of 12. So I guess do not visit this restaurant on a busy day! When our food finally came, we were unimpressed with the food for something considered "fine dining" where you should be given crafty and flavorful food, especially for the prices! This was not the case. The food was nothing more than average with little flavor at all. Where the fine dining aspect comes in is on the plate size. Definitely small portions compared to most other Italian restaurants. Overall, very disappointed with this restaurant. For the price of our bill, we would have been much better off at the buffet.
