Located in the middle of the Danbury mall so off the bat, my expectations were not too high. We ordered a Brown Sugar Bubble tea along with a Piña Colada smoothie. When ordering, the lady asked if we wanted boba for the tea and whipped cream for the smoothie. We answered yes to both to find out that both were an additional cost. Are they really charging for something that is in the name of the drink!? After waiting maybe ten to fifteen minutes for our orders, the drink itself was lackluster. Interesting place inside Danbury Mall. The whole operation is very high tech and it is fun to see all the machines operating to prepare various products ( for instance, tea been vigorously shaken by the machine). I got campfire ice cream which was cryogenically frozen. Again, it was interesting to watch it been prepared, and the presentation was nice, but taste wise it was just a regular experience, nothing really mind blowing. Service was very attentive and patient (it was the first time for us, so we were slow with our order). Recommended not necessarily for an ice cream, but more as an experience. read more

I couldn't have had a better first experience here! The tea and ice cream is incredible and the workers were very polite and helpful! They have a great rewards program, too. Upon arriving at the stand, I was immediately offered a free sample of their honeydew-flavored cold-rolled ice cream. I came for just a plain milk tea, but the honeydew ice cream was so delicious that I decided to try out honeydew milk tea. I got it with the tapioca bubbles, per recommendation of one of the employees, and I absolutely loved it. Definitely the best bubble tea I've had to date. Be warned, though - I ordered a medium drink for $3.50 and added bubbles for $0.50, which should add up to $4.00, but the cashier asked for $4.25 and I wasn't really thinking about it so that's what I paid. I thought this might be due to tax, but there is no sales tax on food in CT, and also the price $4.00 is printed right on my cup. This place is AWESOME! They've been open for about a month & are such a great addition to the Danbury Mall! This place seems to have it all! Bubble tea, cold-roll ice cream, nitrogen chips, milk shakes. Super friendly staff! My wife didn't know that you can customize the sweetness level. They remade both of our drinks with a lower sweetness level without even a hint of grumbling or reluctance. They also have us free samples of the nitrogen infused chips because our kids were so intrigued by them. Wife had a milk based tea & I had a fruity green tea. Both were great. Also appreciated how clean & sanitary they kept everything. An easy 5 stars for this spot! You should DEFINITELY check it out if you get the opportunity! read more

The best boba place in Danbury. I moved here from CA, where the Asian food is authentic, and this is the only place that has boba to satisfy my tastebuds. I go there about 1-3 a week and ALWAYS switch what I drink between milk teas. I have tried there rolled ice cream and other selections before, and there were all delightful. Many boba places around here use the same boba from a few days ago, but I know their's is fresh because I once went there in the morning and they were still making it, and it is soft and chewy not hard and crunchy like the other places. Papa Tea also changes the menu on a regular basis so there is normally something new to try. I highly recommend this place if you are used to higher class boba, and you want to empress someone that CT has good boba! read more

I live in Woodbury and there are quite a few places in CT that have bubble tea and a couple that now have Thai ice cream but this place is by far the best that I've tried so far. Bubble tea in Danbury! I have a real love of bubble tea. I'm no expert, but if I see it somewhere I order it. I was in the mall and saw this stand, they told me today was their grand opening. The bubble tea was prepared perfectly, which in my experience has been somewhat rare. The boba was the perfect texture. Also, you can customize the level of sweetness, which is great because I tend to like it 'lightly sweet'. I first found out about bubble tea in 2016, and I wanted to try it, but unfortunately, there were no places that I knew of around me that sells it. Around Fall 2017, I came across Papa Tea in the Danbury Fair Mall, and I saw that they serve bubble tea, as well as ice cream and milkshakes. I thought to myself that this would be the perfect opportunity to try out bubble tea for the first time. I walked up and checked out the menu for a minute or two, and decided do go with the classic milk tea. When I went to the counter to place my order, I was immediately greeted by a very kind worker. I didn't catch her name, but she was very nice and always smiling. I'm no expert at prices, so I'd say that the prices Papa Tea charges are fair. After I got my drink, I thanked the worker for her great service and left. I tried the bubble tea and immediately fell in love with it. I know some people aren't a fan of it, but I really enjoyed it. It made me pretty much a regular customer at Papa Tea. Not only is the tea great, but I enjoy going there because of the wonderful service provided by the workers there, especially the one mentioned earlier. I work at the mall, so it's often I have the chance to stop by Papa Tea, but I usually go to Papa Tea once every 2 weeks or so. I also tried some of the other flavors they offered, and I enjoyed those a lot as well. I've yet to try the ice cream they offer because it was recently winter, but now that spring is here and the weather is warming up, ice cream will be next for me to try out. Every time I visit, I get such good service that I make sure I leave a tip for the workers. Overall, I'm glad I stumbled upon Papa Tea, because not only is the bubble tea great, but I like to stop by because I always get great service there. There was never a moment where I didn't enjoy the service I got from there. I'll definitely be continuing to stop by there in the future to try out more of their flavors and ice cream. If you like bubble tea or would like to try it for the first time, or even want some ice cream, I'd definitely recommend Papa Tea. read more

They gave me a delicious sample of their honeydew melon rolled ice cream, and it was remarkably good. But I was thirsty and went for the matcha bubble tea. I enjoyed it, but after I ordered I realized I could have ordered it with 30% sugar. I got my wife to order her bubble tea with 30% and it was still sweet enough, so I recommend that unless you're filling a sweet tooth. My wife ordered the bubble tea with the juice-filled balls. The filling tastes like a very sweet juice drink. I think the traditional balls were much better. My daughter ordered rolled ice cream. Not only yummy but fun to watch it being made. I had only a small sample but it was good. They also have dragons balls. These are nitrogen frozen cheese puffs. Fun to make your mouth smoke, but I am not a big fan of cheese puffs.
