I stopped in twice and wish I had more time to shop on each visit. They offer a wide selection of fun leather belts. I bought a belt, which ended up being too small (that's what I get for trying it in over a dress, instead of with jeans!). So I returned a few weeks later to exchange it. Like most boutiques, there's a short exchange window. Fortunately they let me make an exchange. Unfortunately the same belt was not available in the larger size so I had to make an exchange and pay the balance for a more expensive option. But I took home another belt that fits and that I love. I look forward to returning and exploring the store more when I'm next in Tiburon.

I have shopped at Barcelino for over 10 years. I am a loyal customer. I find it sad that as a…read morefull time resident there are no discounts. I understand that retail stores need to make a profit BUT when I shop at other stores and they ask me if I am a resident and they give a discount without me even asking for one. I purchase items from Barcelino that are over a minimum of $1,000 each time I shop. When I ask about a discount, even a small amount (since I shop there a few times a year) I'm told the owner won't approve it. You would think he would be open to even a small discount instead of risking a loyal customer not to shop there again which is what I may do.

Enter Custom House II. Everything in this small, hidden shop has had a previous secret life, probably in a Belvedere/Tiburon home. A cornucopia of stories hides behind each curio, each antique, each artwork, each thing you didn't know you needed. Until now. I stumbled into CHII recently and made deals on a statement necklace and a small art piece. Deals, you say? Yes, prices are marked and though this isn't Tijuana, the staff here is open to a little haggling over beautiful things and I found that charming. They made some sales, I got a nice deal, everyone was happy. If you're looking for something unique or just like looking, in general, make your way to CHII. Their location is as hidden as the secrets of their wares making it completely different than the usual Black Friday experience.
