Cozy place. Great service. Fabulous food! Had the Petite Filet, asked for it blue. Was just this side towards rare than blue. Yet flavorful and tender. The staff offered to recook for blue, didn't want to stop eating long enough to allow them to do so. The power blend slaw is amazing. Sauteed veggies to die for!!! What a pleasant surprise! We never expected to get such terrific food at this cozy place. The fried squeaky cheese was as good as anything I've had in Wisconsin and the fish tacos (which they made for us even though they weren't on the menu) were to die for. Probably the best we've ever had! And the cherry on top is the waitstaff - extremely friendly and helpful and attentive (from recommending the aforesaid fish tacos which weren't on the menu to bringing us a complete flight of special dipping sauces to adjusting the outdoor a-c to make sure we were comfortable)..you feel totally pampered and taken care of. I ordered from Door Dash last night. This is the second time I ordered on this week and spent over $70 each time smh. The first was a great experience. The fried pickles are great and so was the Jambalaya. This time I thought I would try the Tri Tip sandwich. ( BIG MISTAKE) I paid $14 for a dry sandwich with VERY little tri tip...andnthe meat that they did put was probably quality also. I called and spoke with the manager. I told her how can they charge $14 for that when I can gonto Doghouse and get more meat then I can handle on the sandwich for like $5-$6 cheaper. I had to order from another restaurant and wait for that delivery just to be able to eat dinner. What a joke! read more

This is fantastic! Craft cocktails with a solid pour and the food is equally as good. Had the Po' babies and was impressed with the punch in a small bite. Plus there is a solid menu of more meal portion dishes that looked fantastic. There are a few other things I am excited to go back and try. It was perfect for a Friday happy hour outing with friends. Husband and I went first thing when they opened. Great service, my soda was filled each and every time it got down to a quarter left. The food, I'd say range of $$ and a small menu, but it's worth going back to. New places have to blow me away to get on my regular list, and I know we'll eat here again--had fried pork belly, waffle fries (sweet and spicy), a side salad, mac n cheese with bacon, and bread pudding. They give you 8 sauces to dip your meat in and just a taste of each but they'll fill up the ones you want to keep using. It was a very enjoyable lunch that left us more than satisfied. read more

I have been to this place 3 times recently and I had to take a minute to give a review. This place is fantastic!!! Braised pork belly is my favorite. Awesome new "place" in Old Town Clovis. Cozy, warm, and inviting. Serving an array of specialized cocktails, I recommend the Fresno Margarita or the Gatsby. Has a 1920's feel and amazing food. They make all their own sauces and all the food is seasoned exceptionally. I've been there a few times and have never had bad food or service. I try to order something new every time as I am a little bit of a "foodie". The servers have all been super friendly and willing to put up with some weird requests. My server last time, Samantha, was excellent and even offered to tweak my drink a little when I had a hankering for a Fresno Margarita with not quite so much kick. I generally am not someone who buys into the mystic world, but I did feel as though the stars aligned for my recent visit to Papa's Place. It has been a decent amount of time since House of Juju was in this space and I had been meaning to come back now that the same owners kept the more intimate space "Papa's Place." House of Juju had outgrown the space but it seems perfect for the current business. My mom and I had driven down Pollasky thinking we might go to the newer House of Juju spot (we have been there before) but visibly the line was out the door so we opted to try Papa's. We loved the outdoor tables of the former location there "Salsa's" and we were pleasantly surprised at a number of tables available in the patio. It was the perfect mildly warm fall day, beautiful color-changing leaves overhead, it simply beckoned we had to have cocktails and appetizers outside. There was a great live musician belting out tunes and playing guitar right outside, and with the door open we had a perfect seat without it being too loud. We were able to have a great conversation, enjoy some amazing appetizers and drinks, and have the best lazy Sunday afternoon. We had the chicken nachos and the wedge salad, both we shared. Both were satisfying and oh so tasty, and the nachos had some delicious homemade chips (makes such a big difference). The Fresno margarita had a great kick as well, it had to be one of the best I have had. Made with Tito's vodka and the rim with salt and tajin, it was a masterpiece. As we were enjoying our visit there, we saw a group order some bloody mary's that looked awesome and we both said at the same time with confidence, we WILL be back! We look forward to many a lazy weekend afternoon at Papa's. The owner too was gracious, walking table to table to make sure everyone was doing well, service was up to speed, food/drinks were good etc. I am always impressed to see that level of dedication. My husband and I went with our two small kids, which is usually a pretty stressful situation, but as soon as we came in the waitress/manager told us we could lay our sleeping son down on a couch. She pulled up a table to the couch and gave him a tablet and brought out fruit for both of the kids to eat while the food was cooking.
