Really nice shop, reminds me of Fashion Q. Great prices and great selection! Normally don't come in here but I was looking for something in a specific style and they had just what I needed for my trip. Browsed through the store and managed to find a handful of items! Didn't need to use a dressing room to try it on since I know my size and they ended up all being perfect. Definitely a good spot if you're looking for some cheap clothing for outing. My daughter needed a dress for the winter formal and senior dress up day. We shopped at several shops already and this was going to be our last stop. There are many dresses to chose from and their prices are reasonable. Many of the dresses here are form fitting and that kind of material can be unforgiving but luckily that wasn't an issue for her. There are also many casual clothes to choose from that look cute to wear to school or to just hang out in with your friends. I saw some cocktail dresses and LBD to wear that's not to expensive. This shop is mostly for teenagers and young women, but as her mother, I found some stuff that I would purchase like a black tank top. There were even some clothes that I would consider wearing to work. There are several stalls in the dressing room. Lighting is pretty good and the rooms are not to small. Large mirrors. I thought customer service was fine. The young lady in the try on room was fine and I didn't have any issue with the register girl. I would definitely recommend this place if you are on a budget. Perfect place for my daughter to spend some of her allowance money. read more

We were about to buy more than 20 clothes, and the girl behind the desk SANDRA was so rude, first she started to give the service to another person, then we wanted to pay and also still separating what clothes to buy and she was just with a poker face, and said "until you finish I can charge" and I said "you can start tagging that because I know we are buying that" and she didn't do anything, then go to another client and smiled to her and started talking to her, came back to us with ANOTHER POKER FACE, and we were to annoyed with her acttitude we decided to tell the manager and leave, she only said "okey I will check, have a good day" we got out of the store and saw SANDRA telling the manager with crazy signs to us, and she laugh. Papaya is a so so store with cheap clothes and apparently cheap service. Across the board they seem to have low standards on the people they hire but this store is particularly lousy and tacky. Bought a big pile of tops and dresses from here the other day. Whoever the girl was monitoring the fitting rooms had terrible resting bitch face and was definitely not welcoming or customer service oriented. Asked for a discount on one damaged item and the manager refused even though I just bought ten other pieces. The only plus is the clearance rack which had some good finds. I went to this store at the glendale galleria only a few times. The last time I went there was almost a month ago and I can honestly say some of their employees there are rude and stupid at the same time! I saw a shirt that I really liked, but all the ones that were on the table were not in my size. They had a mannequin on top of the table that was wearing the same shirt I wanted. So I asked one of the girls that worked there to check what size was the shirt that the mannequin was wearing because I wanted it in a small or medium. The girl checks the shirt and says its a small. Then I tell her "ok, can you get that shirt for me?" Then she says "oh I can only take it off if you are going to buy it". Then I tell her "yea I'm gonna buy it!" I'm thinking to myself why the hell wouldI ask you to get the shirt for me in the first place if I wasn't going to buy it! This girl has no common sense. Then she goes and gets one of her co-workers to get the shirt off the mannequin and her co-worker was either lazy or she just has a shitty attitude. This other worker who got the shirt off the mannequin for me is a hispanic girl with short dyed red hair and she was pissed off at the fact she had to go take the shirt off the mannequin. When she took the shirt off the mannequin, this girl hands me the shirt all rude and says "here". I was just like wow these people obviously hate there job. Why work at a place you hate giving customer service, but at the same time its probably the only job they can get since they were stupid. So it makes sense why they work a minimum wage job :) read more

Staff was non existent for more than 5 minutes upon arriving. They did have dressing rooms open but only two. The people coming and leaving the dress rooms left their items in the booths and nothing was wiped down or sanitary and it was disorganized and understaffed. Staff disappeared once again but after waiting a short time arrived. They rang me up and then said their was a problem with ringing me up and that they canceled the transaction which prompted a receipt and accepted payment notice on the till. They then said because they voided the payment accidentally that it would be refunded in 3-5 business days. read more

I entered a papaya store 10 years ago. Had the worst experience of retail stores vowed to never step into a papaya store again. After 10 years decided maybe they have changed. Nope, not one bit. I pick three dress to try on get put into a clothing room. I was having trouble zipping up the back so I ask my boyfriend to help me out. The girl proceeds to tell him that he cannot be in the room with me. Mind you the door is open and I am holding on to a dress to make sure it doesn't fall off to completely reveal my bra and panties. I instantly get upset telling her he just helping me zip up the dress. She proceeds to continue to run her mouth. She didn't even offer to help me zip it up like at other stores I have been to. I finally get her to shut up when I tell her, "we are not f**king in here he's just helping me with my zipper" She tells me that the manager is going to say something if she sees us. Good I'll tell her the same thing I said to you he's just helping me with the zipper. Literally what should have been a five minute trying on a dress situation turned into an argument with a teenage child. So upset I just left all the garments on the floor put on my clothes and exited the store. Bye papaya! No more chances. Service like this is why brick and mortar stores are shutting down. read more

Yeah, I like their selection, but they need to fire and hire more friendly workers. Their stupid store policy is different from others. It expires I believe in 16 days or so. I had a store credit, and the girl who processed my return did not tell me that it expires, and it doesnt say anything on the store credit, which is just a piece of paper printed. So I go in, pick out my stuff, then at the registry, the girl was refusing to take my store credit. I asked for the manager because she was giving me the attitude, and after the manager agreed to it, the girl was stil giving me attude! Very cold and unprofessional workers there. Terrible service! I'm surprised there is only one review on this store. This place has the cutest clothes for VERY reasonable prices. All my tank tops (beaters and spaghetti straps) are from here because they have every color you could want and they are between $2.00-$5.00. All the clothes here are trendy, and they have a really good variety of clothes. The only problem with this store, is that the materials are cheap. The prices are cheap but some of the clothing is cheaply made too. Not a surprise, but just know what you are buying. There are some things that I've bought here that have seriously lasted for YEARS but some things last only a few months. I have some really cute dresses from here, which have lasted, and many of my tank tops have lasted too. It's not a huge deal though because I can just buy more for $2.00. Overall this place is really great if you are looking for the most up to date styles on a budget! I love this place! read more

Staff was incredibly helpful and nice when I was around them (in the fitting room and checkout). The place was very clean and they have tons of options and everything is inexpensive too! I asked the cashier what their return policy was before I purchased and she told me straight that it's all final sale due to the pandemic. Found a dress I like, notice the belt that comes with it has a security tag literally going through the belt causing the belt to have a hole in it. (This particular belt has no holes for fitting on it). So basically they're ruining the entire dress because you can't just wear it without the belt, it has loops sewn onto the dress, made for the belt. All the dresses had the security tags going through the belt. They're selling full price for a damaged product. I asked the stores asst manager working (December 1st, 4pm) why they were damaging the dress. Her answer: "we have to do it that way because people remove the belts and they get separated from the dress, it's kind've a win-lose situation". I wanted to laugh because I couldn't actually believe what she was saying. I bet the owner of the store wouldn't agree with employees damaging their merchandise because they don't want to have to look for the separated belts. They probably don't even know this is happening. Personally, I think Papaya isn't that bad. I've been here a few times and I liked the stuff I bought here and the quality wasn't bad. I do agree that a lot of the clothing there has cheap material, but I think that they have some that are good quality. You just have to dig into the store. Some of the good quality ones are a little bit pricey, which seems reasonable. But most of the stuff here is affordable. When it comes to customer service, they probably need to be a little bit more lively. It didn't really bother me that much, but I think their reviews here on Yelp would have an increase if they did work on that. Overall, if you're a broke student or just someone who's on a budget but needs some cute clothes, I recommend going to this store. read more

I recently went shopping here to find a few affordable dresses. Let me just say I did find two dresses that I liked. However the customer service at this store is lacking. When I went to try on my items I approached the fitting room area in the back, and the sales associate said how many very snobby, I told her two she gave me a number tag and pointed to the room. As I was walking towards the cashier the same fitting room employee loudly says why do you have a hanger in your room? Excuse me? How embarrassing! I told her do your job and figure it out. I received DISGUSTING customer service from the manager today. I am a new mother with a 9 month old baby. He had an accident in his stroller.... I had already seen it ! I was already going to leave the store to clean him up and as I was leaving some bags with a family member the manager comes up to me and tells me the baby had an accident I said yes thank you I'm taking care of it. I left the bags because I didn't want to struggle with the 6 shopping bags I already had when I went to the restroom. She came back again and told me to LEAVE the store. She pointed at the door and repeated to tell me to leave. I WAS ALREADY LEAVING. I felt so embarrassed and humiliated. She has no right to kick me out of the store like that. I walked up to an employee to ask her for a GM's # or someone i can contact about the situation and as I was doing so the manager came up to us and asked what was wrong that she was the manager and I can talk to her. I was surprised to find that I really liked the clothing at this store (call me judgemental, I had passed it off as a "cha-cha" store). I even bought a few items, despite the sales lady asking me to step aside for few minutes so she could restock the scarves that I was picking out. I try to be empathetic but really, when you have someone looking to buy things, do you really ask them to step aside in a rude manner? The workers here are super rude especially one girl. She was wearing gloves and seemed super busy putting clothes away. She had long brown hair and had a thick accent. She yelled at me twice for no reason. One time I was in her way and I honestly didn't even see her behind me or else I would have moved. I was looking at a dress and she yelled "MOVE!" Ummmm excuse me?! The second time, I was trying stuff on in the dressing rooms and when I was done, I was putting all the clothes back on the hangers because I feel bad giving it back all messed up.
