Pork carnitas, guacamole, rice and beans, mole chicken enchiladas.

What a fun location and close to a VRBO we were staying at. Loved the food and servers were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Server suggested Carnitas which I never would have ordered and it was delicious. Horchata was great too. Great play area outside with bags.

With a wonderful patio, vibrant interior, and welcoming and capable staff, Papi's in Palomar was an enjoyable lunch stop. I ordered cheese enchiladas with rice and beans and my husband got asada and chorizo street tacos with the bean soup. The provided salsa was a non-spicy, but good salsa, and the chips were a thickness that could have stood up to a hearty pico de gallo, but not overly think. A great chip. The tacos were good, my husband said the chorizo wasn't very spicy. He enjoyed the corn tortillas as they had good flavor and didn't fall apart. He scraped the bowl on his bean soup. The rice and beans were middle of the road. Okay, not bad. The enchilada was filled with colby jack cheese, I believe. I am not a fan of that type of cheese in my enchiladas, but it was a tasty dish. Our total, including one soda and a water, was $38.94 before tip. All in all, we will recommend Papi's as an easy meal out in a convenient location. Plenty of choices on the menu. We would go back again.

My favorite Mexican restaurant in Lexington! Ask for Salima!! She's my favorite server. She's extremely attentive and gets every detail right every time! The food is always delicious and the margaritas are fabulous (the don't skimp on the tequila). There is great outdoor seating with cornhole for the kids on nice days too. This restaurant is in constant rotation for me!!!

My husband and I went to check out Papi's in Palomar on a Saturday this summer after hearing great things about their new location and patio. We waited about 20 minutes for a table outside which wasn't terrible considering how busy it was. Once we were seated our waiter brought us waters, chips, and salsa and took our drink order. My husband got a margarita on the rocks which he reported to be good! For my entree I ordered the veggie fajitas which were delicious and was a generous serving. They came out sizzling hot as you'd expect! The only reason for the 3 star rating was that both of our stomachs hurt the next day...We have eaten at the Papi's in Chevy Chase and the Papi's Rapido and have never had this issue. Because of this, I would be willing to go back to Papi's in Palomar to give it another chance!

My husband and I decided to give this place a try because we were on this side of town. It was so busy we sat at the bar but the service was amazing and we even had the owner taking our order. It's a little loud in here but I gave 5 stars on the mole all on its own. My husband had the beef chimichanga but no picture happened since all thoughts left my brain after trying that mole. The owner said his mother makes it for him and it's the best I've ever had. It was the perfect balance of sweet and savory with a hint of spice. I also happily downed my surprisingly strong margarita!

We visited here for the first time..we all agreed that the food was fairly mediocre, service was really slow and it was probably a one and done visit.

Great local Mexican place to take the family for dinner or a night out with friends. Food is fresh, service is great and they have a full bar with tasty margaritas. They often have live music in the evenings and outdoor patio seating for the Warner months!

Average at best. Prices were cheap; me and my bf got fajitas for 2. Service was good. Nothing wowed us.

The enchiladas weren't cooked properly they were cold. I don't think I will go back unless I'm desperate.

Food is pretty good, but the atmosphere makes it a lot better. One of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Lexington.

I've been here 3 times, dinner, lunch, and Sunday brunch and each visit was amazing…read more The food has always been on-point, the menu is not your run-of-the-mill fare, and the service has always been top notch. My only complaint is the noise level can get high, as it seems to draw larger crowds (baby shower at table next to me at brunch.) I think some acoustic tiles or other noise blocking mechanisms would be great. But don't let that stop you from trying this gem! 1/26

Char on Ashland is a must-visit in Lexington! We tried five items and here's the honest breakdown:…read more The Cinnamon Bun is a 10/10 -- hands down the star of the visit. It's enormous (easily shareable between 6+ people) and absolutely delicious. The Sourdough Breakfast Sandwich was a close second at 9/10, a great classic executed really well. The Banana Bread Latte was an 8/10 -- very good but ask for it less sweet. The Iced Cinnamon Bun Latte and Eggs in Heaven both landed at 6/10. The latte sounds incredible on paper but the cinnamon bun flavor didn't quite come through, and while the Eggs in Heaven dish itself is a good concept, my eggs were unfortunately not cooked to my liking. We really enjoyed sitting outside and enjoying our breakfast! Service was good, a little slow but they were very friendly! Overall a great spot with a lot of potential -- the pastry alone is worth the trip. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu!

After my previous bad experience at Thirsty Fox (reviewed separately), I was looking for a vibe…read moreshift. Ona provided it! A foosball table, a backgammon set, deep wood colors and an art deco vibe. This dark, moody little bar had a friendly bartender and unusual drinks. I had the "I Go Where I'm Led," made with kimchi infused vodka, gin, dolin dry, and celery salt. It did indeed taste like kimchi and was certainly weird. I also had the "Need 3," made with prosciutto basil infused gin sotol, amaro obscuro, bitters, and soda. Also a savory, bizarre drink that I'm glad I tried, but wouldn't get again. They have more conventional cocktails as well, like the Paper Plane, Naked and Famous, Corpse Reviver #2. They have IPAs and plain Miller Lites. They have basic red, white, and sparkling wine. Prices range from 8-13 dollars.

They served others who entered the bar after us, doing shots with them. The bartenders were very rude, online it says they close at 2, one of the bartenders yelled, "It's time to get the fuck out" at 1:10, right after they had finally served us. All the workers were clearly intoxicated/on drugs, and were dancing to static playing on the speakers. I was hoping for a better experience, instead I felt uncomfortable and unwelcome.

A group of us went here and asked to be seated in the pasta room. We learned while we were there…read morethey would not be making pasta until later that day, so that was disappointing. But the food was so good! I had been there once before, shortly after opening, and thought it was so-so. But the 2nd visit was a much better experience. Since we had a large group, we sampled each other's dishes and everything was delicious. The burrata appetizer was really good. I had the "make me something sweet" mocktail and it was pretty and tasted refreshing. Our server was top notch and explained every dish on the menu, and gave us recommendations. He really took his time with us, and you could tell he was a pro. More excited to return after this second visit than after the first! 11/26

First off, wait staff was very nice. Drinks from the bar were okay, definitely not the worst…read morechocolate martini I've ever had but definitely not the best. For our appetizer, we had the beef tartare, it was also just okay. We didn't even finish half of it. The star of the dish was the rye crisp, unfortunately. For our entree we had the baked rigatoni and the pork tenderloin. The pork tenderloin dish was delicious and so was the rigatoni. That was a plus. It was extremely loud in the restaurant. Be prepared to yell at your table partner. Between the amount of people talking loudly (I assume to attempt to talk over the loud music) and the music, and being seated really near other people, having a conversation was difficult. So don't go with anyone who is hard of hearing with background noise (my husband lol). Food took a little longer than what I'd prefer to come out. The restaurant itself had a great vibe and decorations were cute.
