I came in on July 3 with my mom and sister to get our nails done. I showed my nail tech, Kat, a reference photo of exactly what I wanted. My pinky was supposed to be fully colored, and my ring finger was supposed to have a flower with color behind it. The yellow polish that was used was very sheer, and only two coats were applied, so it was still see-through. While I wasn't completely happy with the result, I accepted it. On July 8, I noticed that both of the flower nails had chipped and broken at the corners. I called the salon, made an appointment, and came back to have them repaired. During the repair, a different technician started working on my nails. When he was trying to match the nude color, he wiped one color off, tried another, cured it, and then called Kat over. He pointed to the two different colors as if asking which one she had originally used. Kat pointed to the color that was already on my nail, even though it was visibly different from the rest of my nails. He continued with that color anyway. While the flower itself turned out nicely, the color match did not. Then, on July 13, the flower on my right hand completely came off. At this point, I've had multiple issues with this set in less than two weeks. Between the original design not matching the reference photo, the poor coverage of the polish, the nails breaking, the mismatched repair, and now the flower falling off entirely, I no longer have confidence in the quality of the work. When I called about the flower coming off, I was offered another repair. However, after having to come back once already and continuing to have problems, I don't feel comfortable returning for another fix. I requested a refund because I paid for a quality service that I did not receive. I was told that I would need to speak with the manager. When I followed up, I was told that I would have to wait up to five days for the manager to review my request. I am currently still waiting to hear back. I also want to mention that I haven't been to Papio Nails in years because I normally go to an independent nail technician. I decided to come here with my mom and sister for this visit, and I paid $85 for this set. I honestly feel that I was overcharged for the quality of work I received. For comparison, my regular nail technician also charges me $85, but that's for sets where every single nail has a different design and much more detailed artwork. Those sets are consistently much higher quality and hold up far better than what I received at Papio Nails. Paying the same price for a much lower-quality set that has already required one repair and is still falling apart has been very disappointing. At this point, I am not interested in another repair. I have already given the salon the opportunity to correct the issues, and the problems have continued. I paid for a professional set of nails that would last and accurately reflect the design I requested. Instead, I've experienced repeated quality issues, multiple trips to the salon, and a result that does not reflect the standard I expected for the price I paid. Sadly, the front desk personnel DO have attitudes, disrespectful and argumentative. i have had one pedicure and 2 manicures but others scheduled for the future. Mani & pedi review If you're looking for a pampering manicure spa experience, this is not the place for you. If you're looking to get your nails done quickly then it is. It felt very commercialized. Lots of chairs and lots of staff getting through as many people as possible. However, the pedi is the spa experience. They'll offer you different packages/services and a drink. Upon arrival the facility was very clean with a lot of parking and available seating while you wait. I had an appointment at 11 and was brought back at 11:02. Girls at the front desk were very nice. They have 22 manicure stations, 18 pedicure chairs and a couple hello kitty chairs for kids. There is also a private room available with 4 pedicure chairs. MANI Mine was done by Tim. He did a good job and made sure my acrylic fill was not as thick as the previous spa I had been to. But it was only nails. There was no maintenance to anything else, no lotion or massage. I also feel like he could've applied the fill a little further back. (Picture). PEDI Tiffany did my pedicure and I won't lie, it took a long time. She did fine with the pedicure but a little unsteady with the painting, requiring a bunch of clean up work at the end. The massage lasted about 7 mins and was very light. The part that caught me off guard though was at the end, she told me it was $10 extra for the shellack removal she had just gotten done with. My go-to spot for my nails. The staff are wonderful they always do their best to take care of you during your me-time. The facility is so clean. Parking is shared with the plaza, but never had an issue! Bathrooms are available and super clean! They also have smaller chairs for pedis if you wish to bring a child with you! You can also request for a small private room, I believe their are 6 chairs in there. They have TVs on but volume isn't up. Usually hgtv or if there's a husker game that's on! There are waiting areas if you are a bit early for your appointment. Highly recommend having an appointment versus walking in because they get very busy! (Yes, even on a random weekday afternoon!) There are tablets where you can enter your phone number for your rewards. They also offer water or soda, there are diet options! They have a wide variety of packages and types of pedicures. The classic is a favorite, it is pricey. My go-to is the Hawaiian scrub for pedis. It's not as pricey and you get a great massage included! Their regular pedis are great for summer time if you're coming often. But their gel pedicures last so long and they do an amazing job with it. My feet and legs feel so taken care of when I leave! Exactly what I wanted! It took a little longer than expected. A friend and I made appointments for dip with nail art. And when we got there, the girl I had said she had no problem doing the design I wanted. But when my friend showed the design she wanted to her tech, the manager came around and said she couldn't do that, so she'd have to wait for another tech to become available. We both appreciated the honesty, rather than having someone who couldn't do it, try and do a bad job. But we were there way past closing because someone wasn't available until almost 15 minutes until close. It was confusing because we'd told them when we booked the appointment that we wanted dip + nail art, so putting my friend with someone that couldn't do her (honestly fairly simple) design was strange. I walked into this place to get a color change for my nails. I will saw in positivity that the place was very nice as far as aesthetics. I signed in and they took my to a table to get started. I dont do a full on manicure ever. When my cuticles are cut they grow back jagged and messed up. They are very ugly and i spend months peeling off dead skin and healing them. I am a massage therapist so i can't have jacked up hands. The lady brings out the bowl for me to soak and i tell her like tell everyone i don't do the soak, i just want the color change. No one has ever had a problem except these people. She says well we have to do the soaking, and I say no i don't need that - my cuticles are healthy and are just fine. Shellac polish only please. She calls over the manager and i repeat the samething to her. She says well im sorry but we have to do the soaking otherwise they can't guarantee the shellac will stay and then she asked me to leave. I will not be going back. I really wanted to like it. I waked in hoping to get a fill on my acrylic gel nails and a pedicure. Luckily, they had room for me. First, I got a fill. The woman that was working with me cut my acrylic nails so short that they look like my real nails. She didn't paint the nail all the way so now I have to go and get my nails redone in about a week (normally I get them filled every 2 weeks). Not only that but the technician cut me 3 times. I couldn't even wash my hands the first 2 days without my fingers stinging. My nails look terrible. I don't know if you can see but I was cut in 3 separate places. Normally I don't make a big deal about being cut but like I said my fingers were sensitive for about 2 days. Now my pedicure was amazing! Great service and it was so relaxing. I've been coming here for over a year and every time I see the same person. As do my daughters. I regularly refer people here as we have loved it. Except for today- when I was literally accused of not paying for a service that was done 2 weeks ago! I spend $100 here every time we come and was accused today over a $30 charge that I apparently did not pay. This nail salon is gorgeous and very clean when you walk in. Staff is all very friendly and are willing to accommodate to your needs. I've been going there for about a year now on and off and have had a handful of bad experiences; which is why I rate it a 4. I have gone recently as they are close and wanted to get my nails done before I went on vacation! This last technician who did my nails was my favorite. She sits in the last row 2 chair in from the right if you're looking to the back of the salon. Some of the techs aren't very good with the dip powder and it causes it to chip and break easily. I read the reviews, but thought maybe they changed staff recently and decided to give it a shot. BAD IDEA. We arrived later in the evening, but were seated fast for mani pedis in the massage chairs. My sister in law and her mom were attended to right away, but they were out of staff to start my nails. Totally fine, they started my nails about 10 min later. The guy who did my toes was good, paid attention and they came out well. I waited 15 minutes before someone came to start my fingers after my toes were finished. Finally a woman comes up and starts to do my nails and is rude and telling me I should get gel on my toenails because they will fall off. I say I'm okay and she's insisting and saying they won't fix them if they get messed up. Keep in mind, my toes were already done and gel polish costs an extra $15 (ridiculous). She seems miffed when I say no and continues to do the absolute worst manicure gel paint job I've ever had. I do my own nails and have been doing them since I was 8 so I know a bad manicure when I see one. I might as well have set $50 on fire. As I'm looking at them wondering "how did she even do this bad," she looks me straight in the eye and says "do you not like them" but in a very rude tone and by that point I was done with her. The salon looks great when you walk in. It has a modern, updated feel. More spa like than your usual nail salon. I had high hopes for my manicures given the atmosphere, surely the work would measure up. Sadly, the work here is not consistent. I would either hate or love my nails each time. I couldn't find a tech here that could consistently deliver. One tech even complained to me that I was making her "work too hard" when I she asked me if the length/shape was okay and I asked her to file a side down more that was hanging over my skin (she used a tip that was too large). I also had a tech refuse to make my nails shorter as she said it wouldn't work for a coffin shape. I like a medium length, so not short by any means, so it was really off putting for a tech to refuse to do as I requested when the length I get is normal for a coffin shape as it's something I've done for years. On my last visit to this salon, when I was to have my set removed for a new set, the tech pulled out a fresh nail tip and proceeded to try to lift up and pry off my acrylics. No trimming/drilling/or soaking. Just straight up trying to rip them off. I pulled back and she asked if she hurt me. I said no but she was about to. She said "this is how we remove them" and I said no that this was not my first set and I had never ever had a set removed that way. I said I wanted them filed and soaked. She got very annoyed and said that takes longer, and I said I understood and expected that amount of time as that's what I normally had done. That was the last time I ever tempted fate going here. Be warned: If you are at all late to your appointment, even 5-10 minutes, they will cancel it and not even call or text to let you know that they did. I called at least three weeks in advance to make 4 pedicure appts and they didn't even have the decency to call me when they decided to silently cancel our appointments and take walk-ins instead. The receptionist acted shocked that we expected to still get our pedicures done when we got there 9 mins late, and the manager complained to us about how their clients write bad reviews about them because appointments get cancelled. I wonder why... maybe because Papio doesn't give you any warning that your appointment will be canceled if you are a second over 5 minutes late. That's something that should be mentioned when the appointment is made... I would have understood if I had been cautioned about it when I first called and made the appointments, but since they didn't give any warning on the phone, I walked out angry yesterday. This place can do nails pretty well, but they have no common sense; and if you're expecting to be treated with courtesy I would not choose Papio Nails. This is the only review I have ever done, and this place deserves it. I went to this salon on Saturday for my nails for a big trip. The guy who did my nails checked his phone about every 5 minutes I was there and was not focused on doing his job. I don't really care but, my issue is he didn't cut my cuticles or push them back at all so when he put the nails on they weren't on the base of my nails at all. This is my nails 5 days later! this is usually how they look well after 2 and a half weeks. I called to complain and have them redo them, and they said they couldn't fix them because the shape and was "good" and they didn't know how fast my nails grow, no ones nails grow this fast. For my nails I did dip ombré, for the ombré it ended up being 10.00 more which I didn't know till it was all done. After I got my Nails done my nails seemed to look perfect. The lady charged me $60.00 for a pedicure when it should have been $35.00. I felt bad and didn't say anything because of a story she told me. It's all good.
