The actual facial I received here was incredible. I would call VALO a demi spa in that it has some amenities, but not that many. They do have a nice locker room and offer spa style robes and sandals, and you can take a shower after your service if you like, but they don't have a hot tub, a sauna, a steam room, etc. Their robes were pretty size inclusive, the biggest one I saw was a two XL. The facial room itself was nicely appointed, and had a feature I haven't seen in a long time, which was a little light display on the ceiling that was very soothing. The facial bed/table was very comfortable and ergonomic. The facialist was warm and friendly, but professional. She spoke to explain things as she was doing them, and to warn me when something would be cold or bright, but didn't speak so often that I felt like she was interrupting my Zen. I can tell she was very well trained, and her massage technique was excellent. Her hands felt experienced, and the way she moved from treatment to treatment was seamless. The only thing I noticed that could be improved upon was the volume of the music in the lobby. I really like the music they had, which was sort of a more modern spa track, but as the receptionist was giving me the tour, she spoke with her back to me and between that and the music I couldn't hear what she was saying.

The whole experience was very calming, the room is set up well, lights dimmed to a good setting, and the sheets in bed are comfortable. The pregnancy bed has an opening for your belly, so lying here was the most comfortable. I've been on my stomach in months! When I flipped over, she put a soft pillow over this opening, so it was also comfortable to lie on my back with the opening covered. The cover itself has a slight angle upwards near your head, making it comfortable for a pregnant woman to lie on this, as you are not flat on the bed. Overall, this was a fantastic massage! The only thing I would change is that the music was incredibly slow, and I prefer a bit of a melody to help my brain relax. This is a very minor note, and just my personal preference. If I had known there would be a delay, I would have rescheduled instead of wasting time I had planned my day around. This has never been an issue in the past, which makes it even more disappointing. Because of the lack of communication and consideration for my schedule, I'll be going elsewhere. I truly hate to leave my stylist, but I need a salon that communicates clearly and respects clients' time.
