Don't blink or you'll miss it. I drove past because it looks like a residential property. Quaint little place, is around the side. It's like eating at grandma's house. Mismatched plates and display of teacup. Only about 8 small tables inside. There is a nice patio area which is 2-3 times bigger than the indoor area. Food was great! I ordered lavender lemonade, my sister ordered hibiscus water. Both are refreshing and not too sweet. I chose waffles with bacon and added a scrambled egg. Fabulous choice if I say so myself. Egg was well seasoned. Waffle came with berries & whipped cream. No need for syrup. The waffles were close to those I ate while in Belgium. Dense but not heavy, nice crunch of sugar. My sister said her crepe was great. Savory with ham and egg. Only down side is there were flies buzzing around. But they do have sinning things for the table to shoo them away.

I absolutely adore this little gem in Round Rock, been coming for years and always love the smiles from staff and knowing the love that goes into this fabulous food from the kitchen... The food is always exceptional. Sit inside or out, don't let construction hold you back! There are always sweet treats and of course pies by the slice or to go! This is what great a local business looks like... thank you for your years of serving our community!

This is such a cute little brunch spot! I've been meaning to try this place out for a while now and glad I finally did. The restaurant is not really noticeable as it's tucked in the back streets of Round Rock but once you get to the location, there are signs directing you down the path to a back area. It gives off an old timey cottage vibe which I adored. There's both indoor and outdoor seating. It was a lovely day so we opted for outdoor which was this artsy garden area. I'll admit that on the day we went, service was a tad slow but I appreciated the sign on the door giving us the heads up that they were understaffed for the day. Also since it was a nice day out, I didn't really mind. As for the food, I initially had wanted to try their salteñas (Bolivian empanadas) but sadly learned that they only have those on Fridays. Instead I ordered their Quiche Poblano and Lavender Lemonade. Let me just say, the quiche was so incredible that I had a hard time holding myself back from ordering a second plate of it. The lemonade was refreshing and had the perfect amount of lavender as well. All in all, a super lovely spot. I'll definitely be bringing any out of town guests here next time instead of going all the way into Austin, and also hopefully get to try their salteñas!

What a cute little place! An old Round Rock house, turned into a charming French/Argentinian restaurant. Art for purchase adorns the walls along with birdhouses of every kind which along with the limited amount of seating inside and in their garden, makes for a pretty quaint yet whimsical restaurant. I could easily see myself having tea and pie here but for my first visit, it was all about the breakfast. I have heard tales of their liege waffles and though I was tempted by them, I knew I would be able to snag some bites from my nieces. For me, it was all about the croque madam croissant. It was incredibly flaky and buttery and the egg on top was cooked just perfectly. The bites of waffle I had were sugary and crunchy and indeed, did not need any syrup, though I would've liked to try it! I unfortunately did not get to try any of their famous pies but that's what next time is for! We got lucky in that we came sort of in-between breakfast and lunch, and somehow got the one table that was left but once we sat down, there were at least 4 other groups who wanted to be seated and had to settle for the chilly garden tables. Though I very much enjoyed my meal and the ambiance, I will say, if you are hungry, maybe go somewhere else, or just be prepared to order two meals/snatch food from your nieces when they aren't watching. The portions are fine but in my opinion could be bigger.

My daughter and I had lunch at Papi's Pies on a recent Thursday. The weather was perfect to sit outdoors in the shade. There is also seating indoors. Based on previous reviews, the menu has changed somewhat and leans toward French bistro in style. The restaurant had a sign up indicating they were short staffed, and it appeared as if there were only 2 people running things. Since it was not crowded during our visit, there wasn't a significant wait. Had the place been full, anything cooked to order could take a while. We ordered 2 crepes. The crepes tasted good and seemed to be made using fresh ingredients. There was a cherry tomato garnish. My daughter had a lavender lemonade, which was slightly sweetened. Portion sizes are not generous, and pricing is on the high side given those portions. The quality of the food was excellent, and service was friendly, which may override any objections to pricing.

Charming restaurant with a great outdoor space. We were a group of three and were seated right away. We shared a croissant. It was delicious. Nice and warm. I had the Frittata Florentine. It was very good and surprisingly a lot of food. The salad was also very good. I really like this local Round Rock business and will definitely be back.

I went here solo today. I was thinking get a slice of pie and coffee and finish my errands. Instead I ordered a prosciutto and cheese sandwich with side salad and then the coffee and cherry pie! I was pleasantly surprised at how fresh and tasteful everything was. It was a beautiful day and I sat outside under an umbrella. If you go, park behind Papi's instead of across the street at the bank. I was praying I didn't get towed! The construction is still going on. Also if you go, you cannot be in a hurry or have a timeline. It's very laid back there. At first I was like come on hurry up! Then I decided "what's the rush?" I enjoyed it very much! Even got a coffee refill for free to go.

Transport yourself to a quaint English cottage complete with its own garden when you enter Papi's Pies. It's a little hidden from the road which made it even more magical to eventually find the restaurant sign peeking out. The ambiance is casual and feels like you're at grandma's cozy home for an afternoon iced tea and lunch. We sat at a shaded area outside and it was perfect. I had the chilaquiles and the chipotle sauce it came with was perfect and as a spicy food lover the dish had a good amount of kick. 10/10 dish. Tried the croque madam and waffle and all were 10/10. High quality ingredients, perfectly seasoned, texture of the waffle was crispy and tartlets were all grilled to toasty goodness. The chef pays high attention to detail so don't be fooled by their humble cozy appearance. Oh and they brew their iced teas in house and the unsweetened peach one is AMAZING. You can order it sweetened too if you prefer.

This is such an adorable and inviting spot in round rock and definitely worth a visit. What really makes me give this a 5/5 is just the charm of the whole place. You can see the love & care of the family restaurant as the owners are the ones serving you and explaining how to properly eat a Bolivian salteña as they did in Bolivia. It's warm, inviting, and has a cottage feel. Truly a lovely place to enjoy breakfast and stay a while! The menu is a mix of European, Bolivian, Mexican comfort foods, reflecting the owners backgrounds. We ordered the chicken salteña, cherry blossom tea, a few quiches, cherry pie. Everything was very good, I particularly really enjoyed the hot tea on a chilly day and the Florentine quiche. I'd love to come back to try some of the other menu items. I hope this place never loses its small-town feel & charm!

I give the food and service 5 stars. It was delicious and everyone was nice. They have a lovely small outdoor eating area as well as indoor. The one thing I cannot get over is how ridiculously horrible their water smells. We ate here 5 years ago an I gagged when I tried drinking the water and had honestly forgotten about it until they gave us water. It isn't their glasses because our kid got served in a disposable cup and it was just as horrid. Something is majorly up with their water. It kinda ruined the enchanted experience. If they can figure this part out they're a 5 star establishment.

Have been here several times since my initial visit, and they are still AMAZING! Had one of their newest pies, chocolate meringue, and it was stellar. Rich, dark chocolate, with just enough sweetness. The crust was just right by being tender but not gooey. And the meringue was light and fluffy. It paired very well with my iced coffee. I am looking forward to another visit asap as I was told that a coconut creme pie is about to be added to the pie rotation! read more

We found Papi's by accident....and were blown away!! The apple pie was delicious with the best crust I've ever tasted. We split an order of waffles that put all other waffles to shame. Then we had the Saltenas which are type of empanada that is made when you order it, so I suggest you share the pie while waiting. They take about 20 min to bake. We got to visit with one of the owners and he walked us through eating this Bolivian Saltena. You bite the end off and let the juice drip into your spoon. You sip the juice so then it's not too hot while you're eating it. I wanted to rip it open and gobble it up, but I followed his advice and enjoyed every bite. The cafe is open and inviting. Real food made with love. Seriously. We came here on a Saturday morning with big appetites and we practically ordered one of everything. It feels like you are going to have breakfast at your friends house when you walk up. It's a beautiful place. The breakfast tacos were on REAL tortillas and the eggs were perfectly cooked. The waffles came crispy and sweet topped with fresh berries. The quiche had a great crust and an earthy savory filling. Of course we had to try the empanadas. They had a nice strong crust to hold the avalanche of ingredients inside. We were licking our fingers to get every drop of the saucy goodness. I can't wait to take my visiting family and friends to this place. My one wish- I wish they had a highchair for my wiggly kiddo. read more

This place is adorable! It's an old house that they converted into an intimate restaurant. There's an outdoor seating area where dogs are welcome. Once the weather cools down, we plan to bring our pups there. We ate inside and the decor was really cute. I tried the vegan empanada, lavender lemonade, and tres leches. My husband got the beef empanada, a coffee, and a chocolate croissant. Everything was really delicious and tasty. We'll be going back! read more

Returning from a morning appointment in #RoundRock, #Texas, I found (using GPS!) the most quaint #cafe tucked away just off the road on Chism Trail. It was '#Papi'sPies'. A quaint little house with a quaint garden with trellises and gate with a path led to the entrance on the side. Papi's was small; only about 5 tables or so. I ordered Quiche Florentine: delicious! I recommend this quaint cafe, but you might was to put it's address in you GPS otherwise you might miss it! read more

I needed a pie for an event ... and I'd driven by Papi's Pies just a couple of days before. It was a charming place. The apple pie I purchased for a dinner in Jarrell was wonderful ... and look forward to another one. Found this by driving by, couldn't have been happier. The location has great ambiance and we were able to walk in and buy a whole pie for Valentine's Day. One of the *best* pies I have had. Flakey crust, large pie with deep filling of hearty apples, perfect on a cold rainy day like today. Pictures don't do it justice. Try it. Try it. Try it, but get your own I'm not sharing mine. Going back soon to enjoy their other goodies. Going to be seeing more of us there that is for sure. read more

Finally a Bolivian food place in Texas!!!! I think it's the only one here in Texas. We started with waffles and they were the best I have ever had! Then we order a beef and and chicken SALTEÑAS!! Great brunch at an out of the way hidden Round Rock gem. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the liege waffles with fresh fruit and homemade whipped cream. I enjoyed the quiche Lorraine with a side salad of field greens, cherry tomatoes and shaved Parmesan cheese with a cup of fresh brewed coffee. All delicious. Excellent server. Will definitely go back and recommend to friends. Limited hours! read more

This place is absolutely amazing! I love coming here. They have a garden that outside the restaurant that you can eat in, and inside is very quaint with local artwork for sale hanging up. Their food is amazing. The Liege waffles are a must-have, as well as any of the quiches. And all of the pie that I have tried has been delicious, especially the bourbon pecan. Plus, their coffee and strong and flavorful, with bottomless refills. read more

Went here today for the first time, after hearing about it from my mother in passing. Loved everything about it. I ordered the Raspberry Rhubarb pie and it was so yummy; the filling tasted of fresh fruits and the crust was delicious too! Papi, of Papi's Pies, helped us with our order; he was sweet and amicable. Oh my God! I took one bite of his coconut cream pie and had to write this review. The cream is silky smooth and the coconut flavor just bursts in your mouth. This pie should be x-rated. It's not too sweet, which is often the problem with cream pies. Okay, just took a bite of the crust. Buttery, buttery, buttery. Oh and flaky too. Way to go Papi! I will be returning often. read more

One of my teammates selected a Papi's creation for our monthly birthday celebration at work. She selected the Dark chocolate/Flan cake. OMG! It was an amazing creation - unusual, fresh, beautifully presented and so, so tasty. Everyone on the team enjoyed it (very unusual). I got to take some home to my daughter...she raved too. Worth every star. I have wanted to try this place for awhile and wish I had sooner. The croque monsieur was perfect. Easily the best ham and cheese croissant I have every eaten. I expect I will be back soon to try their empanadas. The cafe is tucked in the back of the building and is the type of place my wife would love. They had 3 quiches out and while I am not a quiche fan, I was tempted to try a slice as they looked so good. read more

We picked up a strawberry rhubarb pie for dessert tonight. OMG It's spectacular and mean spectacular. Whether you want that special desert for a party or just a change for dinner, papi's is your go to bakery. The Chico-flan is amazing and should not be missed!! read more

12/19/18 Updating my review... I really love this place. All of the food is fabulous and the owners are seriously the nicest guys on the planet. Oh, and if you're not aware, you can bring your own cocktails there. YES!!! We go often for brunch and we have brought mimosa makings as well as Bloody Mary fixings. They simply bring you out a mason jar of ice and you are on your own! I love it. We have had all the quiches and empanada...and are making our way through all of the sandwiches now. The prosciutto... O. M. G.!!! Love this one! :) The Croque Monsieur.... YUM! The waffles have sugar beads in them and you don't even need syrup. Seriously, I buy these just to take home and snack on them later! The strawberry rhubarb pie was out of this world--and even stood up when packaged and taken home to eat for later. There are not enough good things to say about this place. I simply hope you never leave! read more

No really! 5 stars. Before the pie. The waffles... to. Die. For. The quiche Loraine, so delish. The place is a little house, there is parking in the back, at first we almost left cause it didn't look right.. go!!! We also had the apple pie, best I have ever had. The crust... wow. Went in for a quick snack one day and it was super yummy! I had their chocolate cake and my husband got a small cheesecake which we both agreed were awesome! I was a little disappointed at not finding a place to sit but I think that was due to how popular they are! I don't blame them at all! Their garden area is also a super pretty spot to get some nice pictures! Parking and finding the entrance was a liiiiitttle tricky but we managed :) read more

My wife and I live in RR and have never been to this place. We have been missing out! My wife had the frittata which she gave me a bite of. It was delicious... I had the waffle. I can honestly say that I have never eaten a waffle without syrup. It did not need syrup! It was perfectly baked and had the right amount of sweetness. Thank you Papi's Pies. This place is worth the drive from Austin, and a definite must if you're near Pflugerville or Round Rock. I've had several of their pie slices--all delicious. The chocolate cream was a surprise: dense, rich, creamy chocolate rather than fluff or pudding, and the whip on top had way more substance than the standard cool whip. Their flan is exceptional, and the choco flan is a hybrid with flan on top, chocolate cake on the bottom. The chicken salteña is as much of a star as the pies are. You can wait in their super cute outdoor garden or cherry themed dining room for 20 min while they bake it fresh for you, or take a frozen one home to pop in the oven. Rather than the mush (tasty though it is) found in most empanada-like dishes, it's filled with juicy diced chicken and chopped veggies. A little tip: treat this like a soup dumpling if you don't want that juicy-ness all over your clothes. Bite a small piece of the crust, and slurp out some of the broth before diving on in. It's a little overpriced for what it is but it gets the job done. FAST FACTS: * Parking - lot out from of the building with plenty of spots * Happy Hour - couldn't find updated days and hours but they do have HH specials * Lunch specials from 11 am to 4 pm Monday through Friday SERVICE - We arrived around 6:30 pm on a Monday and they weren't busy at all (although it was Cinco de Mayo and they got busier as the night went on). We were seated right away and had complimentary chips and salsa brought to the table immediately (they're very mediocre). Our server, Fatima, made sure we had refills throughout the meal and the food came out quickly. PRICING - The total was $65.45 after tax ($4.99) but before tip for a Burros queso ($10.49), shredded chicken quesadilla ($14.99), Javier's plate ($17.49), and carne asada ($17.49). For basic Tex Mex, it seemed a little overpriced but the portion sizes are good. BURROS QUESO (6/10) - This is a basic chili con queso... it's topped with ground beef, guacamole, and pico but not much. I don't think I'd order this again because it isn't worth it for the price... I'd rather just order a small chili con queso. SHREDDED CHICKEN QUESADILLA (6/10) - It's a pretty standard chicken quesadilla served with shredded lettuce, pico, sour cream, and guacamole. I probably wouldn't order this again because I'd rather try other things. CARNE ASADA (6/10) - Again, it's a good portion size but nothing special. The grilled chicken breast is the same price as the diced skirt steak which doesn't quite make sense to me but you get a decent amount of sautéed onion, tomatoes, serano peppers, mushrooms, and zucchini. Again, you get rice, beans, and a small tortilla cup with lettuce, pico, and guacamole. I'd order this again if I want to get in some veggies with my meal. This was my first visit to Burros Tex Mex Bar and Grill and I probably won't rush to come back because there are other Tex Mex restaurants nearby that I prefer. It wasn't bad by any means, it just doesn't stand out (especially for the price). But, in a pinch, I'd stop by again if I was nearby and in the mood for Tex Mex.

You likely are in this section for a Tequila tasting or drink with conversation. The back room was more like a concert-like area with an open ceiling. You literally could see the stars from this section of the restaurant. I listened to some rhythm and blues and find the band to be smooth and sexy. However, my friends were in the last section, where a DJ was spinning Latin tunes. While it was fun to see my friends, it was totally slow boogie. The songs lasted too long, and we only heard a few songs that were familiar. I ordered a frozen Margarita, but they were out of Margarita. I have never been to a Mexican food restaurant that did not serve Margaritas. So, I then ordered some guacamole and chips, which I shared with my friends. After one set of music, we decided to leave the restaurant. Service was pretty good at the restaurant. Although our server was acting as server and bartender simultaneously. Also, there was no cover charge for Sociedad.

This was a little bit awkward and just seemed like the employees were flustered due to the holiday or something and just forgot about me entirely. If I ever return, I will have to come back and try the steak on my next visit. It looked really good!

My family and I had a great time at this new little cafe in Round Rock! Welcoming owners, adorable garden, and a beautiful art exhibit inside of the cafe too. We had saltenas, which are like an empanada and delicious. We also had Belgian waffles, chocolate cake and coconut cream pie (we shared all, so we could try as much as possible in one visit). After our yummy meal, we had tea and coffee and enjoyed watching the hummingbirds outside on the patio. My 7 year old and 15 year old love their quiche! their waffles are awesome, too! We have never been disappointed in their food. Since Covid they no longer have the cute little floral porcelain tea place settings, but it's understandable why they have more of the paper/plastic wear now. I look forward when/if they can bring that back. Just adds a nice little touch. With regards to their pies, I love getting a rhubarb pie there. Not many places here in the south offer rhubarb. Now, they only have strawberry-rhubarb on their menu, but you can ask to order a whole rhubarb pie (minus the strawberries - which is how I like it) ahead of time. My fiancee and I were looking for a new place for breakfast, and found Papis Pies. For the past four Sundays, we've been in for their Quiche Lorraine. It is the best quiche, hands down. Pairing it with a salad may seem unusual, but really enhances the flavor experience. I would also recommend the Leige Waffles. With the sugar baked in the waffles why would you need syrup? I was in around Rock this morning and decided to check out some breakfast/brunch places. Papi's Pies popped up on Yelp so I decided to drop in. I ordered the smoked salmon quiche (new menu item).
