This place is adorable and delicious!! I can't wait until they open every day! We tried several baked goods and coffee and we loved everything. The ladies were all so nice and helpful. Lovely experience! So glad they came to Taylor!

Instead of doing my morning walk in my neighborhood I ventured out and walked to downtown to give Flake Bakery and Larder a try. Was so worth the hour round trip to enjoy a delicious, buttery biscuit and egg sandwich. The Bakery is small and quaint but plenty of seating and very personable service. I enjoyed the French music playing too. Leshia, I plan on coming back soon and will bring a friend.

A Cozy Haven for Tea, Quiche, and Southern Comfort! I've been to Flake Bakery and Larder in Taylor, TX, on three separate occasions, and each visit leaves me more impressed than the last. As someone who treasures a good cup of Earl Grey tea--especially when it's served in loose leaf bags--this place is a rare find. I had heard plenty of buzz about the biscuits and gravy, which are only available on Thursdays. Finally, I made the trip on a Thursday and was 100% glad I did. The seasoning was spot on, with the perfect balance of meat served over a flaky, buttery biscuit that simply melts in your mouth. Our biscuit, bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich was just as delightful. However, the standout for me has been the quiche. I've had quiche in many places, but the one at Flake Bakery And Larder is, hands down, the best I've ever tasted in Taylor. The variety of baked goods is impressive, and every item I've tried has been top-notch--so much so that I usually end up taking them to go because I'm too full to try them all on the spot. The ambiance is cozy, the place is impeccably clean, and the staff is always friendly. Just a friendly heads-up: they're often short-staffed, so if you're in a hurry or not prepared to be patient, this small-town gem might not be your best fit. Here, the pace is relaxed--sit back, enjoy a coffee, and savor the experience. Five stars for consistently delicious food, a charming atmosphere, and heartwarming service!

Oh my word! Flake in Taylor, Texas is a must visit!! Beyond delicious and tasty. I don't ever get biscuits because they are dry and tasteless. This biscuit just literally melted in my mouth. And the arugula, egg and cheese, perfect. What are charming atmosphere, incredibly fast service and overall don't pass through the Austin are without stopping!

Vanilla lattes, BLT and beef bourguignon biscuit!

I've followed them for a while on socials and I should of started coming then. This is a hidden GEM! The fresh homemade quality really shows and they don't stop at the food, that same quality extends to the service and the plating on beautiful plates and cups. If you want to romantize life and lunch, this place is for you.

The bakery has a great ambiance and style for their finishes. Staff was friendly, and my sausage egg cheese bagel was great! We will be back.

Great food, cozy ambiance. Super friendly staff. Everything I've eaten there from the bagels, to the cookies, to the quiche are bangers.

That style (but obviously not the name) continued with their move to Taylor. The place features quality, flavorful food simply presented. The printed menu regularly changes, and there are frequent appetizing (and sometimes mouthwatering) posts to their Facebook page. I wish I lived closer by, as I'm thinking my husband and I would become regulars. The eating area at Main Street includes 7 tables, with a total capacity of around 20 people. The parking area in the strip center is somewhat limited. My husband ordered an egg salad BLT and chips, and I had a corned beef sandwich. Each came with a pickle spear and a side. I loved my corned beef, and the potato salad was excellent. The portion size was adequate for the price. My husband was lukewarm on his sandwich choice. We had ice water to drink, at an additional, but IMO unwarranted, charge of 25 cents apiece given we each ordered a meal. Yes, we'd return... as it seems like there will always be something new and good to try. I'd suggest watching their Facebook page to get ideas of what they're serving.

All in all, a yummy brunch! I have to give a top review & #congrats for one of the best tasting, light European #LemonMazipan #cakes I have tasted, this side of the Rio Grande. Last time I tasted anything that close to #perfection was in #SantaBarbara #Montecito &, once, at a #birthday soiree in #TheColony for a well-known Industry #music #composer. With regard to service, the cashier needs to listen a bit better to #customers, rather than rush to get a total for ordered food, #imho. She might benefit from a bit more customer service training to understand that a #smile goes much further than a frown, when asked for something outside of her 'modis operandi'. Granted, she's young; time & experience will help smooth out the rough edges. The owner walked out & interacted with customers; she seemed very appreciative of everyone sitting down, enjoying their meals. * I have just one suggestion: end the 'add-on fee' for those of us who & need to take food 'to go'. Doing so will create better rapport & success for your business. Parking spaces are limited, but I was able to find parking both times I visited.

It's a cute nostalgic space with old-timey instruments displayed in the corners and has a really unique feel. The wait staff is friendly and funny and very knowledgeable about the menu. Full bar avaliable and if I recall breakfast lunch and dinner sold all day! I had french toast and cheese grits- tasted just like it does at home- as expected I guess but nothing that gave me the wow factor I was hoping for, cheese grits however were really good, Kinda thick but packed with flavor! Eggs were cooke just right and potatoes were good too however came out luke warm like they had sat for a bit before being sent out, the pancakes were kinda like the french toast as it tasted like something you make at home but still good! Lots of pies to choose from- I went with a slice of buttermilk to go! It was good but i'd try something different next time I come by! We were at right away around 11am on saturday. Our waitress was nice and everything was out quick! The bathroom however needs some work- definitely something that's been there for QUITE sometime with no fix ups- dirty floors and walls, leaking handle when you go to flush. I will be back to check out more of the menu next time we are in the area!

My daughter-in-law had gotten a new refrigerator right before they left for vacation so there was barely anything in it. They have a wonderful pantry and I ate a Ramen out of the pantry Saturday night for supper but just couldn't find anything. I was hungry for in there on Sunday. Anyway, I was hunting some food to have delivered on Sunday. I had never even ordered takeout from any place in Taylor or Hutto and it took me a while to find something that could accommodate all my needs -but Randy's Icehouse to the rescue!! The first time I ate there I had my grandsons with me and we all had burgers along with some fries and onion rings we shared and everything was delicious and cooked to order. Yesterday, I chose a Chicken Fried Steak dinner with a baked potato , a side of mushrooms and a side salad. I enjoyed the CFS once I removed most of the breading (don't get me wrong. It was nice and crispy-I just wasn't in the mood for it) it was easy to remove, and the steak itself was cooked properly, there was cream gravy to go over it, and I ate it with my canned Mushrooms on the side. My Baked Potato was on the small side, but it was delicious and all the logical condiments like shredded cheese, sour cream, & butter were all included (in little cups) so I could use what and how much of those I wanted. It also came with a slice of Texas Toast and a Side Salad, which was freshly chopped lettuce with bacon, and croutons, and had the blue cheese dressing I had ordered on the side. Even without the breading on the meat, I was full before I ever made it to the Texas toast. I focused on the chicken fried steak, the gravy and the baked potato. It was all very good. Not sure why, but I didn't care for the mushrooms too much , I knew they would be canned, but they had a little bit of a tinny flavor so I ate a couple of those, but then left the rest. The blue cheese dressing was great, not sure if it was homemade, but there were small chunks of blue cheese evident, which I appreciated. Because I had filled up on my steak and potato I only ate about a third of the salad. The only thing I missed was the woman who was our server last time I went with my grandsons -as she was very pleasant and nice to talk to! I'm very grateful they were open on the Fourth of July weekend and even more grateful that Toast was able to deliver it to me out at my son's house-which I consider to be in the boonies -but then a lot of Taylor /Coupland area is! Looks like this is going to be my go to place if I need some good home cooking out that way!! If you haven't been it's worth the drive!!!
