Strawberry tarts and chocolate chip cookies
    El b.

This place is named perfectly. Everything was so buttery and flaky. The strawberry tart had chucks of real strawberry and the dough was perfection! The chocolate chip cookie was soft and chewy with large melty chocolate bits. Also really enjoyed the pulled pork pastry. It was stuffed to the brim with pork and cheese, and big enough to share. The inside of the bakery is beautiful, with a comforting aesthetic. The woman who helped at the counter was very helpful and pleasant,

Instead of doing my morning walk in my neighborhood I ventured out and walked to downtown to give Flake Bakery and Larder a try. Was so worth the hour round trip to enjoy a delicious, buttery biscuit and egg sandwich. The Bakery is small and quaint but plenty of seating and very personable service. I enjoyed the French music playing too. Leshia, I plan on coming back soon and will bring a friend.

A Cozy Haven for Tea, Quiche, and Southern Comfort! I've been to Flake Bakery and Larder in Taylor, TX, on three separate occasions, and each visit leaves me more impressed than the last. As someone who treasures a good cup of Earl Grey tea--especially when it's served in loose leaf bags--this place is a rare find. I had heard plenty of buzz about the biscuits and gravy, which are only available on Thursdays. Finally, I made the trip on a Thursday and was 100% glad I did. The seasoning was spot on, with the perfect balance of meat served over a flaky, buttery biscuit that simply melts in your mouth. Our biscuit, bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich was just as delightful. However, the standout for me has been the quiche. I've had quiche in many places, but the one at Flake Bakery And Larder is, hands down, the best I've ever tasted in Taylor. The variety of baked goods is impressive, and every item I've tried has been top-notch--so much so that I usually end up taking them to go because I'm too full to try them all on the spot. The ambiance is cozy, the place is impeccably clean, and the staff is always friendly. Just a friendly heads-up: they're often short-staffed, so if you're in a hurry or not prepared to be patient, this small-town gem might not be your best fit. Here, the pace is relaxed--sit back, enjoy a coffee, and savor the experience. Five stars for consistently delicious food, a charming atmosphere, and heartwarming service!

Oh my word! Flake in Taylor, Texas is a must visit!! Beyond delicious and tasty. I don't ever get biscuits because they are dry and tasteless. This biscuit just literally melted in my mouth. And the arugula, egg and cheese, perfect. What are charming atmosphere, incredibly fast service and overall don't pass through the Austin are without stopping!

Vanilla lattes, BLT and beef bourguignon biscuit!

I've followed them for a while on socials and I should of started coming then. This is a hidden GEM! The fresh homemade quality really shows and they don't stop at the food, that same quality extends to the service and the plating on beautiful plates and cups. If you want to romantize life and lunch, this place is for you.

The bakery has a great ambiance and style for their finishes. Staff was friendly, and my sausage egg cheese bagel was great! We will be back.

Great food, cozy ambiance. Super friendly staff. Everything I've eaten there from the bagels, to the cookies, to the quiche are bangers.

This side of the property is dedicated to copy and suites. There are some tables most looked like…read moretwo tops in the back and then there are some additional two top along the front wall and a two seat bar area as well so really plenty of seating ---don't be confused like I was!!! There is a very large restaurant connected to it that stretches all the way to the corner of the block. In all honesty, I didn't realize this until I was leaving. Silly me on that side of the business they have a very nice lunch menu and I'm sure beverages, including coffee and also sweets are available. I came for coffee and something sweet and that's what I got . My role was OK. I'm definitely going to try something different next time. The young lady at the cash register advise me that they used to have scones, but haven't had them in quite a while and of course that's always my very favorite at a bakery, they have some muffins that looked very good as well as some large Cookies I believe they also had cinnamon rolls. My pumpkin spice latte was excellent. I had it hot and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The service was also very good. The young lady behind the counter made my coffee offered to heat my sweet roll and also brought it to my table. She was very capable and very sweet. The ambience was great. The entire property lives in the bottom floor of an old building in the city of Taylor, very quaint and nice large windows so that you can watch pastors by. I will definitely be returning .

Happy and healthy is how I'd describe this place overall. Bright and airy space when you first…read moreenter. Kinda rustic, quaint warehouse gallery vibe. Plant life and art abound. The menu is small but mighty, especially if you're a coffee lover. They could use a few more options for herbal/non-caffeinated tea. However the rose water lemonade made me forget all about the teas. It was the perfect mix of flavors. I love a good lemonade and I'm not a fan of super sweet and sugary lemonade. This drink was balanced because the tart of the lemon was there and the sweet was also present but the rosewater added a nice kick to tie it all together. The kind gentleman at the counter helped me select food. A caramelized onion biscuit caught my eye and he co-signed that it was a great choice and can be used to make one of their breakfast sandwiches. I chose the garden one because of the confit tomatoes. Yum is all I'll say. Found a spot in the corner to do some work. There was a nice calm yet jazzy soundtrack playing in the background that added to the happy and healthy vibe I felt when walking in the door.
