Service is top notch!! From being greeted to being walked to our table. Our waiters Dylan and Adrian were a delight, took our orders and food came fast. Everything tasted fresh and delicious! Empty plates were cleared out zooming fast. Our table was nestled in the center above beautiful chandelier. And did I say this place is settled within the airport? Yes I was also pleasantly surprised:)

Wonderful! This was my first time at a Pappadeaux and I was told how good their food was, and they did not lie. After a delayed flight, we went in to dine. Our server was very professional and pleasant and I did like the character of the restaurant, it really displayed the New Orleans feel. It was spacious and seating was comfortable. We ordered a old fashion and Malbec. The old fashioned was made well. For entrees we ordered the crawfish platter and the prime ribeye. Everything was delicious. It was definitely pricey but then again, it is the airport.

While on my 3 hour layover + 1 1/2 hour delay I had to stop! Have not been to Pappadeaux in 10 years, so I was ready! I had to go with a half and half Shrimp/catfish po' boy! Very delicious with a touch of sweetness of the coleslaw. Added the dirty rice. Oh I've missed this! Great flavor, meats and seasonings to perfection. Had to top it off with Myers rum! Just like 10 years earlier but in Dallas! This location has a deep southern Louisiana feel. I dig the environment and atmosphere here. Friendly staff that checked on you often without over doing it. Just glad to see this location in the airport with a full menu of great options to eat! Honestly, next time back in Texas, I would consider stopping here if the location I'm headed didn't have a Pappadeaux!

I've been going to Pappadeaux's at DFW over layovers for years, and it was a place I looked going to. They consistently deliver some of the better food and drinks for an airport. You can't go wrong with the Po Boy here with freshly fried shrimp and a flavorful remoulade. The etouffee was also very good on a recent visit, although it was way too big to finish. I usually grab a shiner bock or beer, but their cocktails also can be decent and fun, e.g. the Swampthing - raspberry & melon liqueurs layered with frozen hurricane & margarita. Looks radioactive, loaded with booze and sugar and probably the worst thing you could drink before a flight, but oh well. Service at the bar was great on a recent visit, and overall, a great choice at DFW.

Got lucky a lady called me in to sit on the bar as there was going to be 10 minute wait to be seated. Our flight was 2 hours away. Lisa our bartender ran the show! She kept all servers straight and made sure food were delivered on time! She took care of everybody and we were packed! Clean bar and lots of things going on. We had catfish sandwich which was huge! And Mac and cheese which felt like almost straight from home kitchen. I didn't think it would still live it up in an airport setting and glad our tummies invited us here. Lisa when she realized we were celebrating a birthday---he had a free key lime pie to go!!! And guess what---they give military/vet discount! 25%! Can't beat that!!! Highly recommended!!!

Note: I went to the Pappadeux Seafood Kitchen bar across the hall from the actual restaurant. From the outside looking in the bar looked more chill than the restaurant so that's why I went there. The service was amazing. The server asked when my flight was to see if I needed to rush my meal. Although I had plenty of time I really appreciated it. The seafood gumbo was amazing. The garlic bread with it was soft and buttery. Everything tasted delicious and fresh. The margaritas were perfectly balanced and strong. This was some of the best airport food I had in long time.

For an airport restaurant this was a great spot to stop and rest between flights with full table service. A full bar, a great menu, and outstanding service. The restaurant was clean but tight to maximize occupancy. Table and bar seating available. While there was a nice selection of seafood on the menu the prices were set for business expense credit and not the non business travelers. We ended up getting a more affordable option with a burger that was great. Despite the elevated pricing, it was solid meal and they would come back again if I was looking for a place to stop between flights.

Quick service, perfectly cooked food and delicious drink. Couldn't ask for more for an airport. Amazed at the quality and great hospitality! The ambiance was nice for the airport as well. Tables are a little close but wouldn't expect more for an airport

Great food and a welcome lunch stop while we waited for our flight. The restaurant is bright and clean with TV screens. We enjoyed our lunch while watching Sunday football. The restaurant was busy and I appreciated our waitress. She was attentive and didn't rush us since we had time to spare. Our lunch was great. I enjoyed my salad with salmon. I wish the salad had romaine or mixed greens instead of iceberg but it was still good. My husband enjoyed his crawfish etouffe and said it was just as good if not better than the one he had in New Orleans.

    Suggested tip.
    M K.

Everything about this restaurant in Terminal C was lovely. We ate salads after two weeks of BBQ, Whatabutger and enchiladas. Tasty. The server was friendly. The TVs showed a professional darts game, which was perfect to watch while waiting for your flight to board But I'm giving it one star because the suggested tip was calculated on the total bill, which includes tax. This is incorrect. One does not tip on tax. Perhaps it's the manager's mistake or a corporate directive or a software feature. Regardless, it's wrong. Should you dine here, please check your bill.

It's Pappadeaux, it's an airport, what's not to like? It's one of the few airport restaurants where the food is consistent with what you get outside the airport. The seafood is fresh and tasty. Love the fried shrimp and catfish. The breading is light and crunch. Lots of great cocktail options as well. If you have a little bit of a layover in Dallas. This the place to get a good meal. Service was friendly and fast.

The Papadeaux Seafood Kitchen, which is the Cajun brand of the Papa restaurants, is my favorite of all the chains. Food is always fresh and flavorful with the service always being friendly and fast. This particular location is at the Dallas airport and it's great bc it's literally one floor beneath the airport so it's quite peaceful when you sit in its inviting and warm decor. I tried their "Mississippi Catfish Opelousas" which had blackened catfish fillets in a Cajun cream sauce loaded with shrimp, oysters, and lump crab meat served over dirty rice. The whole dish was decadently flavorful and hit the spot right before my connecting flight. Portions are quite large and worth the somewhat steep price.

That's a run on with terrible grammar.... That's how far off this place has thrown me. My server was also a freaking rock star!! What in the world is happening at Terminal A, DFW?!?!? He made excellent suggestions and took excellent care of me! In fact, all of the staff seemed to be top notch! Inside is like you are nowhere near an airport. It's kind of sunken between terminal floors or something. I took an elevator down and popped out in a strange place in a server area where my actual server was just standing there waiting. How in this hell is that étouffée that damn good. Now I realize some of the best Cajun food I've ever had came from a frozen bag from a place in Franklin TN (that's another story on Yat's), so I am likely not the best judge, but I do know good food. What I had here was really good. I got the crawfish platter and it was enough food for me, my server, and the fat guy sitting next to me at the other table. Well, maybe not, he ate all of his plate and then a whole dessert. I missed what he had before he inhaled it. But.... My server was skinny so.... LOL. I ate and ate until I could not eat anymore and still only managed to knock out about 50% of it. The fried crawfish was great and cooked perfectly. Just the right seasoning too. Dirty rice is hit or miss for me seasoning wise, but this version was really good too. I ate a good bit of it. The étouffée part of the dish was the real star of the show. Holy shit! So gooooood! Throw some of those fried ones in it and damn. I'm done. No more. If you read this, get your ass the DFW Terminal A and get some of this inside you as fast as you can! Stop what you are doing, miss that flight, leave grandma at the gate, ditch the kids, whatever you have to do, do it now, get on the dang train if need be and go get some of this food in your damn belly! I rode from Terminal D here and back just to eat! '26 - 11

(English down below)…read more Saliendo del aeropuerto DFW, busqué algún restaurante que tuviera sopa de mariscos; no sé de dónde vino el antojo. Digo yo... no sé. Mejorar estos dos detalles llevaría la experiencia en El Viejón a otro nivel. ¡El Viejón, recomendadísimo! ------------------------------------- Leaving DFW airport, I found myself craving seafood soup--no idea where the craving came from. I searched for nearby options and El Viejón came up. I checked the online menu and reviews, then drove 13 minutes, only to discover a real gem. What I loved: The service was excellent. Nidia took care of us--she was not only kind, but also attentive and efficient. Adolfo, the manager, is a great guy. The simple but important things: Their plastic cups are surprisingly original. The menu is simple and humorous. Prices are fair for the generous portions they serve. What truly impressed me: The seafood soup. This kind of soup is simple: either you know how to make it, or you don't--and when you don't, it ends up like the one at Pappadeaux... something to cry about. This one, however, is loaded with seafood (crab, clams, octopus, fish, shrimp, squid, etc.). It has a subtle sweetness, and you can taste every distinct note. Highly recommended. One soup is more than enough for one person. I learned that lesson too late--after also ordering the grilled octopus. I had to get it to go because it was simply too much food. My only two complaints: The tostadas they serve come with chicken that looks like tuna but tastes like plastic. My dog was with me and wouldn't even eat it--which says a lot. Very strange. The other issue is the music: too loud and all from the same genre. If the goal is to honor Mexican culture, there are so many genres to choose from. Just saying--I don't know. Fixing these two things would take the experience at El Viejón to another level. El Viejón--highly recommended.

The portions are also huge Our server was wonderful from start to finish. He was friendly, attentive, and checked on us often without being overbearing. The service was honestly the best part of the experience. We started with the Sichuan calamari, and this was easily the highlight of the meal. It was perfectly crispy, the glaze had just the right amount of sweetness and heat, and the seasoning gave it a nice kick without overpowering the calamari. It was one of the best calamari dishes I've had and definitely raised my expectations for everything that followed. Next was the tenderloin bruschetta, and unfortunately this one just didn't work for me. The flavors didn't come together, and it was much saltier than it needed to be. It felt like there were too many things happening on the plate without much balance. I wouldn't order it again. For the entrées, the Chilean Sea Bass was very good. The fish was flaky and cooked well, the risotto was creamy, and the sauce brought everything together without being too heavy. It was one of the stronger dishes we ordered. The lobster stuffed ravioli was another solid choice. The filling was generous, there was plenty of lobster on top, and the vodka sauce complemented everything nicely without taking over. It was rich but still well balanced. We also tried the New Zealand rack of lamb. This one had mixed reviews at our table. It wasn't as tender as I was hoping, but I didn't dislike it and again I didn't love it! The blackened exterior and the wine reduction gave it good flavor, but it just wasn't particularly memorable. My favorite entrée ended up being the tomahawk pork chop. The pork itself was juicy, flavorful, and cooked really well. I wasn't a huge fan of the pineapple bourbon glaze since I didn't think it added much to the dish, but the quality of the meat made up for it. We also had the strawberry spinach salad, which was fresh and a nice lighter option alongside all the richer dishes. Then there was also a side dish with green beans and almond and again no complains there. Overall, I left feeling a little conflicted. The service was outstanding, the atmosphere was great, and the portions were very generous. The food itself was a mix of really good dishes and others that completely missed the mark. After such an incredible start with the calamari, I expected the rest of the meal to be on the same level, but it just never got there. I'm glad we tried it, but I don't think it's a place I'd rush back to.
