I've been here one time last year. I came back tonight! The service is still outstanding. Johnny went out of his way tonight to greet and assist my coworker and I. He politely explained the menu and walked my coworker through the different house favorites. I ordered a plate of sides :) and he was able to make sure it all turned out smoothly. Being new to the valley, I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant! This is the first place that finally cooked my steak medium rare! My husband had the king crab legs and they were cooked very well! It was moist and had huge pieces! The oysters were also nicely chilled and fresh! read more

On this visit however there was a hair in my margarita & when they brought me a new one it wasn't as good....it was a top shelf and no apologies were made. Pappadeaux is pretty good food for The Valley. Pretty large restaurant but there's a lot of energy and a nice ambiance. I've been there two times and both times there were no complaints with the waitstaff. For an apertizer we ordered the shrimp spring rolls, I think they had crab and pork in them too and they were delicious. Large chunks of meat and a great sauce. For entree I ordered the seared ahi tuna with lump crab and potatos. It was pretty good, the ahi was a little over cooked (I expect the center to be pretty raw, it was not) but the flavor was good. I'd say its a little pricey for what you're getting, but overall pretty good. read more

Been here about 5 times, even on busy holiday times, this has been the worst visit to date. Went to bar area , found seats to dine in and our waiter was a huge guy named micheal. I had to call him to ask for menus, secondly I had to wave him down again to ask for drinks. Thirdly, I had to wave him down to tell him we were ready to order. He just looked at us and walked away. But he was very helpful to the single ladies at the other side. I had to call on a manager to tend to us , and was very helpful. Now, I understand it was valentines day, but the least you could have done is acknowledge us and humor us. This micheal waiter blatantly ignored us and went elsewhere as he also ignored the couples by us. Pappadeux is still a great place to dine in, but they shouldn't hire people that cant put up with the heavy traffic. read more

You can't go wrong with Pappadeaux! I get their seafood fondue for appetizer and it makes me feel full by the time the entree gets to the table! Really generous servings! Their ambiance is a bit too loud i gotta say but the food makes up for it! I got the Red snapper for my main dish and it was delicious! Now let me tell you if you're trying to take someone on a date and talk freely this is probably not the place for that since it's a bit loud, but i guess u can just request a quiet place to sit to the host. Watch out for the bartenders who want to STEAL your change! This is at the Pharr, TX location. We waited over 30 minutes to get our change. We literally asked for change on a $100 bill & the idiot acted stupid as though it was a $100 tip! Pathetic!! Not only that, we are confronted about taking his TIP by the so called manager at the bar on next visit! You lack manager skills if you ask me. Perhaps you need more training. The food is great but I'll get to that in a bit. The reason I gave this restaurant 5 stars is that I absolutely fell in love with the music on Saturday nights. The band was phenomenal. They play lots of 70s throwbacks and their harmony is great. It really sets a good mood. The food is some of the best in the valley. I've had everything from the mussels (to die for) to the roasted chicken to the tuna steak sushi. All of it is mouth-wateringly good. I realize that this is part of a chain, but the Pappa's franchise never disappoints. Come on a Saturday night and sit outside for a perfect laid back date night or just to chill with girlfriends. It's worth the wait. It's worth your money. I'd pay for the music alone. The meal is a huge bonus. read more

My husband and I went here for our anniversary. It was perfect! The food was to die for and the service was amazing. We had the appetizer platter, an off menu shrimp and crab meat entree, a blackened mahi entree, and a few fruity drinks. For desert (which was free for our special day) we had key lime pie and banana pudding. All of it tasted fresh and flavorful. Our server Gabe was a delight. Unfortunately I did not enjoy my food, the bit of salmon was good but everything else was off. I mentioned this to my waitress, she got the manager. They both went above and beyond to make it right. Assuring that even though I didn't enjoy the food that night I would come back and give them another chance. Amazing customer service is rare today. Great job ladies. So I'm a Pappadeaux lover the menu is fantastic and the service usually matches but on our last visit this wasn't the case. I love that you can make reservations online and they confirm and accommodated us because we moved our time later. When we arrived we checked in and for a party of 8 we were seated within 5 minutes that was fabulous! So our actual waitress Natalie was great! We loved the attention to the dishes she was able to give for the questions we had. She was just the middle man though when it came to the problem and so we understand and tried to not be rude to her and we hope she understood. I ordered the boudin and their oven was on the fritz so they did it blackened and I'm so grateful for the mgr I believe to recommend it that way sooo yummy!! After this is where we had our problems. We were a party of 8 so I understand that it's a lot of food but I received my entire order about 15 min before everyone else and then my cousin received her order ,which was tilapia so super easy to cook, about 15 min after everyone else got their orders. Again the waitress kept checking on the order but if the kitchen wasn't ready they should have kept all the orders until it was ready to be served as a whole. Will definitely try again we understand that with Covid it's hard for everyone to staff but when you are spending 100's on a dinner it would be nice to have some normalcy. read more

This is by far the best papadeaux I've been to. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. We ordered the famous crab and spinach dip and it was delicious like always. For dinner we decided to share an oyster poboy since we were both craving for a good old fashion op boy! It was good, but did not come with enough fried oysters. For $20 dollars, I expect a little more to at least cover one layer of bread. We also ordered the gulf oysters and I was so pleased they cleaned it well!
