I went for a birthday dinner there at a table for seven. It was my birthday and I chose this restaurant because of its stellar reputation and the history of good experiences I've had there in the past. This time was an outstanding disappointment. First, the drink service was late. When my drink arrived the ice had already melted for the most part. Second, getting refills of drinks seemed like an impossibility. I had to flag down the waitress (it seemed like she moved in slow motion), ask for a new drink and wait quite a while before it came. The food was terrible. I ordered one of the most expensive things on the menu (lobster tail), and the plate was cold when it was served. So was the accompanying broccoli and baked potato. The atmosphere was terrible. The staff seated a howling baby at the next table. The baby was howling when it arrived and never shut up. All in all, I expected the service to be much better, the food to be much hotter and my birthday to be an unqualified success. What I experienced was a complete disappointment! I will investigate a different place next year. In the meantime, I'll skip Pappadeaux's for meals in the future. read more

Mediocre. Pasta dishes overly goopy. Not anything i recognize as uniquely cajun. Too big and institutional feeling. Beer, however, is cold.

Absolutely beautiful outdoor seating area that is part of their latest design model. Quite comfortable outdoor furniture and a beautiful fountain coupled with lots of greenery make it a beautiful place to have a cocktail either while waiting for a table or just a lazy evening. Can't wait until it gets a little cooler to be able to sit outside. I ordered an off menu drink and was surprised to learn later that one of them restaurant managers Omar actually made the drink. I took my family here for Fathers day recently and it was simply amazing. We waited about 15 min around 3:30 p.m. on. Sunday. The place was definitely busy and worth the wait. My father ordered the lobster tail , I ordered the Atlantic fish, and my mother a red fish plate. My fish (which was The Chilean sea bass equivalent) was very tasty. My father's lobster tail was delicious especially with a little dip in drawn butter. My mother's red fish was truely to die for. Amazing. The bread with butter was on point as always. Always fresh. We ordered the crab cakes which had big chunks and a great taste as well. The breading on it was present but was not overbearing at all. The service was pretty good as well. Our waiter was the training person as well so he understood the importance of good service and how to give it. 5 star. Will be going back soon! read more

I went to Muelle 37 a few days prior, and the food was way better for 1/3 of the price. Service was very bad; the only time we saw our server, was when she delivered our drinks, and when we were ready to check out. My overall favorite was the shrimp & Crawfish Fondue. It was so good with the buttery savored bread it comes with. My husband didn't care for the grits tho it was a bit mushy for his liking. After hearing the world rave about Pappadeaux for years, I finally had the chance to find out if everything they'd been preaching was true. I visited solo on a Saturday night and was first greeted by some subar service. There was a bit of a miscommunication when trying to get seated at a table and when finally seated, I sat there for about 10 minutes before getting acknowledged by any of the servers. She said she "assumed I was waiting for someone". Well, after my food came out, all was forgiven. I ordered the Texas Redfish Pontchartrain, which was out of this world. The fish was perfectly cooked - fall apart flaky and moist. The brown butter wine sauce that topped all of the seafood held the dish together perfectly. It was rich, but not too heavy. There was a generous amount of shrimp and the lumb crab was a beautiful complement to the fish. Living in Chicago, I don't make it to chain restaurants often at all, but Pappadeaux is definitely someplace that I plan to return to. I will tolerate mediocre service if it means getting food as tasty as what I had. I hate it took me so long to get there! read more

Great place for the family. It's one of the nicer places to eat in town with that fine dining atmosphere, but without having to get super dressed up. Every time that I have gone, it's always been excellent. Service- 4 Stars. I'm going to give this a high score because I think WE as the diners need to slow down and realize that this isn't a fast food joint. Everyone is busy on their phones and taking their time. I think the staff does a good job of balancing the crowds at a reasonable wait time. My favs: Grits-5 Stars and a must try! Coconut Shrimp- 4 Stars and super delicious! Pina Colada- Perfect for the valley heat. You really can't go wrong with any of the dishes so I would say try a little bit of everything each time or go in family style with your group and share. Not a bad place to come eat some seafood. Would say $$$ and an occasional extra $ depending on what you get. Today we tried a little bit of everything, and it was all great, from the gator bites, to the redfish. The dipping sauce for the gator bites had a little sharp bite to it that balanced out nicely with the tender gator. The redfish had just the right amount/combo of butter and lemon and went well with the dirty rice. Definitely can not go wrong coming here if you want some seafood with that Louisiana touch to it. read more

As we walked in the door we commented that this is the nicest looking pappadeaux we have ever seen. We have been to a few. Denver, San Antonio, Houston, Dallas. We went to a table in the bar area and the service was so awful we just asked for our check for the drinks and went back to the host station to get a table in the dining area. WiFi here is great. The crab spinach dip needs more crab. Still tasty. Calamari was good. Capt has salmon and scallops; said was great. My grilled red fish was amazing. Shrimp was excellent. However, our table was forgotten; we tried getting other waiters attention and nothing. Finally went to the hostess and they were none too helpful. The cocktails are refreshing and the frozen drinks are fun creations. The food is tasty and you can expect consistency in their recipes. Overall, this is one of my go to lunch spots, especially for a business meeting. Occasionally, we'll pop in for a happy hour with colleagues. We all know the food is delicious at Pappadeaux but I experienced their Shrimp and Grits today and WHOA!! By far the best shrimp and grits I had! From the flavor of the grilled shrimp to the cheese grits with hints of andouille and corn and the BBQ mixture sauce they drizzled over the grits was beyond flavorful (does have a slight kick).
