This is our go to place for a great meal. The food is high quality and the service is consistently excellent. We have never had one complaint about any of our many meals and Pappas. I stopped by Pappas Seafood House on a Tuesday for dinner. Located off of 45 in Webster, they have a large parking lot so parking won't be an issue. The restaurant is right next to Pappas Delta Blues Smokehouse. Upon arriving, I was surprised at how busy the restaurant was on a weekday. It's a large restaurant and it was almost full. After taking a look at the menu, they brought us some complimentary bread and butter. Always a nice touch! From there, I went with the crawfish fondue appetizer which comes with garlic bread. Good portion size here and done well. Gooey, melted cheese with crawfish that you spread over your garlic bread for a delicious sandwich. For my entree, I went with the trout which comes with shrimp. I changed my side to the buttered potatoes. Another hearty portion, I ended up taking half of it home. The trout was large and thin while the shrimps were juicy. The buttered potatoes weren't my favorite---essentially boiled potatoes with some butter. Service was also pretty slow. We had to track down our waitress to get a refill and to ask for the check. If you're looking for seafood that's a bit elevated, Pappas Seafood House is a solid option. read more

I ordered the trout and shrimp cocktail. The shrimp cocktail was not properly cleaned or deveined. I would expect that with a cocktail. The trout had a horrible smell to it, like it was old. I wasn't able to eat much and thought maybe it was just the entire place's aroma but when I brought it home and popped it open, it was infact the fish. The plate was almost $40 and it went straight into the trash. What a waste. Our waters were never refilled nor was my son's lemonade. It was grilled to perfection and there was not an overabundance of rice at least in my estimation. It was quite flavorful and not too salty. Another member of my party had the Chicken tenderloins which they found to be enough to make 2 meals and quite tasty. Our server area was attentive and knowledgeable about the offerings and able to suggest modificationa or items, according to our preferences. Our favorite is a Greek salad and combo plate of crawfish eutouffe and fried crawfish. Tastes the same over the years . Consistency is what I love about all Pappas restaurants. Went to one in Denver and everything was exactly the same as what I'm used to. Never had a bad meal or service here in over 35 years. The staff is well trained and assist each other . My girlfriend and I went in this restaurant although she wanted to go to Pappadeaux's restaurant, but we were sure glad to find this place because we were super hungry and happened to be down in League City. Ledi, our amazing server, was kind, knowledgable and extremely friendly as soon as we sat down. The dining experience with her couldn't have been better and she made us, especially my girlfriend, feel like an old friend we hadn't seen in awhile. She gave us a detailed explanation of the menu, and we ended up going with some of her suggestions. We shared the baked crab cake for a starter, which was a very generous sized portion. Then we shared one of the salmon dishes, which we substituted jambalaya, and the salmon was in a delicious cream sauce. She was so kind to split it for us, and the portion was huge enough that we had an extra portion to take home and have later that night and the next day. The manager was equally as welcoming and hospitable with us, and he came over and introduced himself and even treated us to desert as first timers and new to Houston! I believe his name was Travis, but he was super well dressed, and had very cool looking dreadlocks (sorry if I got the name wrong), but I wanted to give him recognition because we genuinely appreciated that he came over and welcomed us as well as checked on how we were enjoying our meals. Overall, I would highly recommend Pappas Seafood House to anyone in the area because of the STAFF! Crawfish and Shrimp Fondue was AMAZING! Good portions of fresh crawfish and shrimp in a well seasoned creamy fondue cheese sauce. We should have stopped there, but we ordered the fried seafood platter and it was okay. For $37 we only got 3 small shrimp, lots of fries and bread (filler food), (3) over coated oysters, (2) fish filets, (1) stuffed shrimp and crab. Food was decent. Was really disappointed in the service. Our server, Amanda, was not very attentive to us. We looked young, and for the entire dining experience, she only came to our table to get our food and drink orders and the check in the end. While she did refill our water cup once, she just would only come to our table to give us our plates and food without saying a word, and never came to check up on us or ask how our experience was in between, While we do understand if she may be having a bad day, we noticed she would go to her other tables around us asking how they were doing, but not once for us. The food here was phenomenal, but what really made our meal was our server, Malcom. He was very knowledgeable about the menu, suggested a fantastic drink for our daughter, and was super personable. Food presented to our party of 4 was generally good but my bowl of seafood gumbo had few smaller shrimp and looked nothing like the bowl depicted in thr the Yelp ad-- it was disappointing and I asked the server if they possibly gave me their shrimp gumbo instead of the seafood as ordered. Server told me crab meat was probably mixed in -- I've been to this restaurant many times over the years and had always thought it was relatively expensive but high quality and consistent-- get what you pay for etc. I don't think my $18 seafood gumbo met this criteria and will look to alternatives in the future. read more

We wanted a seafood dinner before heading home. This restaurant came up on yelp so we gave it a try. The restaurant has a diner look and feel. We sat at the bar, place our orders and food came out fairly quickly. The light brown sauce that came with the raw oysters really complemented the app. Normally, we put tabasco sauce and lemon but this asian sauce took the oysters to a different level. I asked the manager, Avery, and she said they've been doing it for years. Anyway, I looked past that and asked about another dish that had been packaged to go (but not in cardboard...hmm). It had not been separated but instead everything put in the same box and the jambalaya was running into the fried catfish creating a mushy mess! I applaud the manager. All the food was really good. We had the fondue app and it was cheesy and full of seafood. The adult beverages were good. I wish that the waiter was a bit more attentive. The restaurant is a very classic, old school, higher end seafood place. It was clean. I had the Cobb salad with shrimp. This is what I always order and it was good as always. Only one partial shell left on a shrimp which I wish they were more careful about removing. We enjoyed the cheesecake, brownie, and crème brûlée for dessert. All were excellent. read more
