04.19.26 - Took my gf here today for lunch. When you arrive, nice parking area, with security patrolling the lot. Once we walked in, we were promptly greeted and sat. our waiter got to the table right away and got our order of drinks, he was very courteous and aware. Our waiter brought out fresh chips for the table and warm salsa, and my gf was about to ask for some green salsa, and our waiter already knew she was going to ask for it; very tentative. Once we had made our order, our waiter was still very aware and checking on us without bothering us, and made sure our drinks were never empty; great job. Once the food was ready, I guess they were having trainee's learn how to bring the food out, however, the young girl who brought the food out for my tables, didnt know how to set the food tray down on the stand and hit the back of my chair, our waiter, knew she had done that and quietly asked her to step away, and I looked at the young girl and told her that she hit the back of my chair, and she never said sorry nor acknowledged an apology, and just disappeared into the kitchen. Our waiter however, he was great, made sure everything was good and we had all that we asked, wanted, and needed; again thank you for being a great waiter. Once we were done with out meal, our waiter had brought some to go boxes, to go bag, and a fresh bag of chips to go, with some fresh warm salsa as well; great great waiter. We opted to eat here because we were in the area. This place was easily accessible and had private security onsite. Upon walking in, we were greeted by the hostesses and chose to sit at the bar. The bartender/waitress was amazing. She knew how to read the room. She was attentive, but not bothersome. She was very knowledgeable on the menu and substitutions, based on our requests. She even gave us each our own salsa to eat with our chips. Entrees: Beef Taco, Chicken Flauntas & Chipotle Shrimp. The Taco was pretty basic, but the other dishes were served with rice and beans. Also, I like that you can add a side of queso for just $1.95. Yet, the queso was pretty thick, but I think I'm just used to Lupe's food now. All in All, we were able to chat and catch up, so it's a good place to hang out if you're looking for somewhere close by. read more

First time here and it was amazing!! Kylah was our main bartender and she was super sweet. I always appreciate a bartender who can engage with their customers and still multitask. I forgot the name of the seasonal drink she made, but it was featured on the cards on the table so I decided to try. Loved it!!! She also made me my first "Mexican Candy" shot-- 10/10. Im almost afraid to ask for it in any other city because Im not sure it'll taste like it lol We ordered the beef fajita quesadilla. Also 10/10. Flavorful and the steak was perfectly cooked. Went on February 28th. Service was great as well as food. Management and hostess was unprofessional, rude, hostel, racist and downright anti-Veteran. The duty manager lied in his sincerity of correcting the issues that acted that he would take care of issues while correcting nothing but making sure we were billed correctly. Our waiter did an outstanding job and the food was terrific. I would not recommend Houston for any future Cheer competitions or Veterans events in the future. read more

Hubby and I went for date night. It's was our first time. Take a sweater it is very cold. If you ask for a different hot sauce (green or spicier) they do charge extra for it (FYI). I absolutely loved the ribs, they do have a little kick to it but if you think it's too spicy they do give you a little sweet sauce on the side. The waitress was very nice and pleasant. This was my first time eating here so I had high expectations. The place is a lot larger than it looks and offered plenty of parking and quick seating once we got inside. The service was great but once it came to food time things were not so great. If its your birthday then they really do give you a great song and cheerful mini party. I will probably give them another shot but the food overall tasted average and was over priced. Papasito's Cantina in Houston truly exceeded our expectations. From the moment we walked in, the service was excellent and we were treated like royalty. The ambiance was beautiful, lively, and so much fun--it made the entire experience even more enjoyable. Our server, Alex, was absolutely wonderful. It was only his second day on the job, and you would have never known it--he was attentive, professional, and genuinely kind. He shared that he loves working there, and it truly showed in the care he gave us. I have a seafood allergy, and when we mentioned this, a gentleman from the kitchen personally came out to speak with me. He asked detailed questions about my reactions and made sure everything would be prepared safely. I have never experienced that level of care before. They even made fresh chicken tortillas just for me. We ordered the chicken fajitas, and everything was outstanding--fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. To top it all off, we were treated to a complimentary brownie dessert for my husband and me, which was such a thoughtful and generous gesture. This is a Houston classic and this location doesn't disappoint. The butter sauce with the fajitas do I need to say more. lol! This is a great spot on the east side of town. Especially if you are unfamiliar with the east side. Security is patrolling the parking lot so your car is secure. Inside is everything you love about Pappasito's. In my view the east side is the working side of Houston and this is a safe bet if you are on the east side and looking for a place to go. Great service, great food and very good drinks. Only down side is it can get a little pricey but in today's economy that's quickly becoming a norm. If you find yourself on the working side of Houston this is a must go to place. read more

I was visiting Houston for a few days I wanted to get Mexican food. I definiitely love me some queso and margaritas. I seen this place off the highway so I just yelped it , I noticed they had white queso so I gave them a try. The food here is surprisingly good, I got white queso of course lol which was pretty good, a few margaritas which were delicious and a chicken burrito, the service was really good, we came early, the building got packed pretty fast tho. Food and service were excellent. Came here with a work group and a reservation. Greeted promptly and drinks came out quick. We order guacamole and queso for appetizer and both were good... the queso was a bit addicting. My coworker got a trio plate that had beef and chicken on it with bacon wrapped shrimp and they were excellent. The steak was DEFINITELY the best thing on the menu and cooked PERFECTLY. This Pappasitos location has been a favorite of mine for basically as long as I can remember. As with any Pappasitos, the chips and salsa are amazing. I think they have some of the best around, potentially even my favorite. The reason I give this restraunt 4 stars is because of the price. They are overpriced, in my opinion. However, the quality is good, and the portions are large. I try and mostly visit Pappasitos during lunch hours. I think the prices are good for lunch portions compared to dinner prices being around double. I think they have some of the best chicken fajitas around. The thing is, they are sometimes overcooked at certain locations. Thankfully, at this location, they have always been great. I think this is one of the best restaurants around the area. Maybe even the best. If you haven't tried Pappasitos, I recommend it. It's a Houston favorite. read more

Our server Laura was eh. She never checked on how our food was , making sure everyone received everything, refills of drinks n chips(had to ask). A friend ordered dessert with her entree so it can come out together and she received the dessert first from another waitress. When we finally got the chance to tell Laura she wanted it with her entree, she took it away then brought the same dish back of already melting ice cream w/ brownie because the food was already coming. Also, had to remind her of certain things like bringing to go plates because she didn't ask who needed some when bringing one for someone who had to ask for one. I definitely know the difference between poor service and busy service. The food made up for the service and the live music they had. Atmosphere was great, service not so much. I expect great service cause I know how to give good service, I always tip even when service isn't so great cause I know how it is. I always enjoy stopping by Pappasitos because the food is always so good. Their chipotle shrimp is one of my favorite dishes. My boyfriend got the chicken fajitas. The chicken is cooked perfectly and not dry like some places. The service from the servers is generally pretty good. The hostesses could definitely improve since it seems like they often just stare at you for a few minutes before greeting you and taking you to your table. The atmosphere is nice and lively. I don't know what happened here today. Only 4-5 tables of patrons, slow service and lots of errors. There were 9 in our group, they forgot to place one order, they brought another wrong order, hair found in ice cream, took forever to close out our bill and short changed the one who paid with cash. The food smelled better than it tasted. Not sure what was going on today. The Margarita was good though and made up for it but come on, this was not Pappas quality or service here. if I could, I would give it 0 stars. Yesterday I ordered online the Plato Del Mar with beef fajitas at Willibrook, and by the time I realized the fajitas were all raw, I was too far gone. I paid $60 for raw fajitas that were 10 minutes late and I could even get salmonella. obviously the cookers don't want to spend time doing things the right and safe way. awful service!! read more

Fajitas we enormous, the chips n salsa are a great start (amazing home made chips) tamales tasted very authentic, and the chicken chimichanga was excellent! The food is great as to be expected at any Pappasito's. The front of the house service at this place can be better. I reserved a table for 7 for 7pm but had to call the restaurant before my party and I got there to cancel that reservation & have it be at 6:15pm instead. We got there at 6:00 and the group of hostesses were hesitant to give us my requested table for the allotted time. One of the younger hostesses was kind enough to seat us at the back of the house where it was quieter and we got to spend it away from the larger crowds. It was my Dad's birthday celebration so he wanted it to be a momentous occasion for our whole extended family. There was a slight misunderstanding with the waitress as she thought that it was a surprise thing when it wasn't. Needless to say our party of 7 was accommodated ... we got our food on time, we ordered two of the family platters, corn tortillas, flour tortillas for the whole party, a kids meal, and my niece got to blow the candle that she brought for her grandpa--the birthday celebrant. We got the fajitas, the garlic butter i can for was cold, the fajitas didn't sizzle and the service was terrible. Our waiter was maybe 22, had no idea what types of wines, margaritas, or beer there was. We asked for a skinny marg and got one full of simple syrup. "Recipe" they said.
