I can't even tell you how many times I've brought clients here. This is my go to in nw houston for amazing Tex Mex. Their beef and chicken fajitas are phenomenal! It gets pretty loud here during lunch time and dinner time. Although I noticed the last few Friday lunches it's been low key empty, which is rare here. Maybe the economy is slowing down. Pappasito's is like that cool jacket you bought a long time ago. It still fits and when you put it on it turns heads. But you always wonder if it was worth all the money it costs. This trip to Pappasito's I got my usual Seafood Enchiladas and a Presidente Margarita. My wife got the Tulum Combination Plate. Every thing was good, the seafood in the enchiladas was cooked perfectly, the shrimp were seasoned well and had a pop when you bit them. The scallops were firm and sweet with a nice sear. My wife's combination plate was great. She never finishes so I ate about a third of it. The chicken in the fajita taco was juicy and perfect, the cheese enchilada was flavorful, and the tamale was mouth watering. Pappasito's is good, but like that old jacket you notice the flaws. The decor used to be trendy and special now it seems more manufactured and stale. The service is a well oiled machine, efficient but mostly impersonal..., and that would be okay if it wasn't so expensive! read more

I order a margarita that was being promoted on the table. Not realizing until I took a sip that it was $49.95. Yes you got that right. The $49.95 was in tint writing and I was floored. I called to complain to the manager and was told they have nothing to do with the pricing of promotional items. Really? I have never in my life paid $49.95 for a drink until now. Having catered with Pappasito's many times in the past I've always enjoyed their Fajitas. The steak/chicken mix is always a classic for me and this recent visit didn't disappoint. The sizzling plate was full of great flavors, the steak was tender and savory, grilled just right. The only thing I don't like are their chips, very thin and personally I'm not a big fan of the buttery taste myself. I know I may be in the minority on that opinion but their fajitas gets the love from me. Service was very smooth for our private room event, plenty of waiters in/out and helped with the drink orders. Everything came out great. Plenty of parking in this location in a shared shopping plaza. Salt salt and more salt, I have been eating at Pappasito's for many many years, but I can't even review my dinner much further than just way too much salt, this goes way beyond being salty, I just can't believe how much salt there was on the food, you can go through years of my reviews and I don't think I've ever commented on salt before, but this was ridiculous. This is expensive food this is not a Taqueria and they should do better, beyond that the service was mediocre at best, my waitress must have been fairly new because she didn't seem to know her menu at all and it took forever to get anything and the restaurant just wasn't that busy. The fajitas were average and a bit lacking in flavor. The Mac and cheese was dry and had little to no sauce. The quesadillas were made perfect. The lunch snapper taco was epic but the enchilada had no flavor and was very dry. The rice and refried beans also had no flavor and were very dry. The service was ok but not great. I came here with some coworkers on a Friday afternoon right before Christmas. It was decently busy, but we were seated quickly. While our server was nice, she took a VERY long time to come and take our orders after bringing our drinks. We even had to ask another server to grab her for us. She came back, got all of our orders correct, but it was just such a long time between seeing her. The food itself was ok, the portions seemed big, even for items on the lunch menu. I got fajita steak quesadillas, and a beef taco. The taco was really big but tasted just right. Sweet tea was also pretty good. One thing my table noticed was that there was a server carrying a tray of food on her shoulder and her hair was literally touching plates - yuck!! We saw this not once, but twice. We were so thankful that she didn't bring out our food. Overall, we were not disappointed or beyond pleased with our experience. For some of my coworkers, this was their first time here, and they said they were glad to check this off of their list of places to try, meaning they didn't need to come back. Every time we come to Houston, the Pappas restaurants are a must-stop. We had a table of 8 and Deshawn was our waiter. He did a fabulous job! Very professional, attentive, had good suggestions, and got our food out quickly. He was very friendly, funny, and we all enjoyed the great service (one of my must-haves when I go out to eat.) The food was delicious. The cocktails were amazing. We all had different entrees and we were all very happy. The brownie dessert was really really good, but I was so full I couldn't finish it. I had the cheese enchiladas and they were the best ever! I want to reiterate what a professional and great waiter Deshawn was bc at the end there was a problem with an entree one of the party ordered to go that didn't get delivered to the table by the time we were done. I commend Deshawn for the way he handled a small problem that got turned into a needless complaint from someone in our party. I'd like to apologize on behalf of our party and assure the management that Deshawn handled everything perfectly and we even tipped him extra to make up for any miscommunication from our guests. This place was good. We did the shareable fajitas and wow what a presentation. I've never seen anything like that, very cool. The steak was by far our favorite and the chicken was the least favorite, it was a bit dry. We also got queso and guac for appetizers and both were great. So my first time here while visiting on a work trip. I sat at the bar and was immediately greeted by the bartender for a drink. After a little bit they took my order and when the food came out, it looked fantastic. It wasn't your typical beans and rice oval plate type Mexican restaurant. Everything tasted good except for the taquito. The chicken inside had a very strange taste almost like a chemical taste maybe soap or something else I couldn't put my finger on it. I thought lunch specials were supposed to be lower in price than the dinner menu, but clearly you're paying for quantity over quality here. Friendly disclaimer: if you are sensitive to the mix of tap water and soda syrup, don't order soda from this location. Tasted terrible! If this is a budget issue and cutting costs in this area is necessary, maybe you can offer an alternative, or at least provide bottled sodas for those, like myself, who find distaste in such mixtures! Service was good, decent, but food was terrible. Shredded, flavorless dry chicken, same kind in both my enchilada and crispy taco. Crispy taco shell was a bit dry and stale, then soggy. For some reason the sauce over my enchiladas tasted like mole, which I wasn't expecting. Ordered: lunch special chicken tinga enchiladas, generally spicy, but not this one...and crispy chicken taco...totally disappointing. I also found a chicken bone in my enchiladas!! That caught me by surprise, and not in a good way. Rice was okay, but also quite flavorless and a bit dry. Charro beans were salty and didn't taste house made, and overall portion size was not ideal. I don't like leaving negative reviews but the service was absolutely terrible and seems like the entire restaurant staff was lagging/understaffed. To start, we made a reservation for 5pm and had to wait 20 minutes for the table to be ready. We ordered drinks and two queso's, the queso's took quite awhile to come out and they brought out one queso and said the other queso will be coming out soon. Weird but ok. Food took a long time to come out and they started bringing out people's food one by one, not all at once, which isn't a huge deal but it was minutes between each plate/bad timing. Then they completely forgot one of our meals, finally the manager comes over and apologized and said they are working on it. Still took forever. Waitress never apologized or acknowledged the horrible service. Any time we needed a refill or side of something, it would take 10-20 minutes just to get the item. The manager came and apologized again and said he would comp our appetizers and the meal that was forgotten. Then he comes back a few minutes later (after the bad service continued) and said he would take care of the entire dinner for us "if we wanted". Like we aren't going to say "yes please comp the whole meal!" It was awkward. Maybe I misunderstood but then the waitress brings out the bill and it was still $200 and appeared that they only took off the quesos and forgotten meal. They gave us two free desserts for my sisters birthday which was nice (also took forever to come out) but overall it was the worst pappasitos experience we have ever had. Pappasitos is too expensive to have bad service like that. All the hole in the wall Mexican restaurants have better service. Take notes! We will only be going to the i10 location from now on. We go to Pappasitos and Pappadeaux at least 1-2 times a week. A visit to Pappasitos (Hwy 290) location on Friday around 4pm was a terrible experience. The place had very little business literally maybe 4 tables with patrons. We were sitted immediately and after 10 minutes waiting for someone to serve water or chips we left. There were 4 waitstaff sitting near the bar area chatting. While leaving we stopped and advised manager. We walked over to Pappadeaux and had a great meal there where people were providing great service and food. Management at Pappasitos Hwy 290 need to address this. read more
