It's sad the food is good. Yet another visit where are orders are messed up. We ordered three different pizzas. One small was burnt on the bottom. A second was almost burnt, definitely over cooked. The third pizza was made incorrectly. They gave it to us for free and made the correct one. Unfortunately it didn't arrive at the table until everyone else was done eating. This is three visits in a row that one of our pizza wasn't made correctly or made at all. Part of our group didn't want to come because of past issues. I guess we are really done now. Absolutely love this family owned restaurant. And I'm excited to say that I saw a "coming soon!" sign in O'Fallon on Highway K for our very own PaPPo's!!!! We are finally getting one in Saint Charles County. Yay!!! I often go just for the goat cheese salad, which is my absolute favorite thing on the menu. I was sad to find out that they discontinued all eggplant dishes, so no more eggplant pizza and no more eggplant Parmesan. The spinach goat the pizza on thin crust was delicious and super garlicky, but I love the garlic! I added Italian sausage because, duh! :) the Sicilian pizza has all the Italian cold cut such as capicola, salami, pepperoni, and pepperoncini's! This restaurant on Battlefield Road is always busy and full of families and a vibrant bar area. They are kept hopping with carry out orders too. The children love watching the pizzas makers tossing pizzas through the viewing window. Even though they were busy, our food came out in a very timely manner, and our drinks were never empty. Great pizza! Recommend. Called in the order (online want working). Service was good. Had the Caesar and Italian salads. Italian was good. Have to add the meats. The Caesar lettuce was slightly aged. Got the hand tossed. Crust was amazing, cooked well. Pizza as not greasy at all. The pizza were so flavorful and tasty. Meat lovers was great. Wasn't too much meat. Not too salty. The hot honey pepperoni was sticky and had some heat. So good. Added the whole roasted garlic. It was soooooo good. Garlic was soft and well cooked. Chocolate chip cookies were hot and delicious. Advertisements work !! My husband who barely watches tv has somehow seen the Pappo's ad and has wanted to try this lance for months. After a full wonder of wildlife day i knew the perfect place to take my dad before he flew home was Pappos. The menu is huge !! We enjoyed all the screens and watching the flipping of the pizzas. My dad tried a sandwich, I had a salad and each kiddos had their own pizza just for them. We ate every last bite ! So, this is the Springfield South location and is always a delight. Tonight after driving 342 miles making sales calls for my company I arrived a little late around 7:45 PM. There were plenty of seats and I chose the bar. The Cubs/Cardinals game was on as it should be here in Cardinal country. This time I decided to try the Calzone and some of the Brown Butter Cookies. The beer was ice cold and delicious. I took the food back to the hotel room. They will give you paper plates and all the items needed to have a civilized meal in your room if you ask. The Calzone was fantastic and the Ricotta/Mozzarella cheese blend was superb. I opted for the Meatballs and Capicola with Mushrooms and light Jalapeño. The marinara is slightly sweet and works perfectly with the heat of the Jalapeño. About the Brown Butter Chocolate Chip cookies, let's just say I wish you could order just 3 but the smallest order is for 6. Yes, 6 and of course they are gone now. Definitely delicious & delightful, you should give this local establishment many visits as the menu is extensive. They are expanding now and I can see why. Excellent! read more

After being told I'd have to wait at least two hours to place a carryout order at their downtown Springfield location on a Saturday night at around 7 PM, I decided to visit this location instead. Placing an online order was easy peasy. About 20 minutes after placing my order, I parked in one of their drive-up spots, called the phone number on the sign, and my order was brought out to me right away. The man who brought out my order was very kind and friendly. I had never eaten Pappo's before, so I wanted to try a nice variety of things! My partner and I got a four 8 inch pizzas: Chicken Caesar pizza, The Goat pizza, Hot Honey Pepperoni pizza, and Wild Buffalo pizza. We also tried their garlic cheese bread. The garlic cheese bread wasn't necessarily worth it. Not bad, glad I tried it, but wouldn't care to purchase again. The Chicken Caesar pizza is advertised as being topped with "after bake lettuce," but mine did not have much. It pretty much tasted like caesar dressing smeared on some bread. My partner really enjoyed the Hot Honey Pepperoni pizza and Wild Buffalo pizza. He said the buffalo pizza was one of the best he's ever had. I really liked The Goat pizza, which comes with olive oil glaze, fresh spinach, fresh minced garlic, caramelized onions, caramelized pineapple, topped with goat and mozzarella cheese. I'd recently had a pizza from this c same company down in Branson, loved it and decided to try a couple other pies. This time we ordered the margarita pizza and the shrimp scampi. Both were delicious. The margarita had a balsamic glaze, and I was worried it might be too much, or too sweet and it was nice. It was a nice addition. The shrimp scampi pizza sounded interesting and I wasn't sure how it would translate to a pizza, but it delivered and the squirt of lemon on top really brought it together. read more

The food is always amazing when I come! However, service is usually not a good experience. Last time I came we waited 2 1/2 hours for our food and our waitress checked on us twice max. After coming back for a second time with my mom, she asked for a cup of Caesar dressing since her salad didn't have very much, and the waitress was very rude, glared at her, said nothing, and walked away. The menu is very nice, with a large variety of pizzas, salads, and sandwiches. They have a daily lunch special which is a salad and a personal pizza. We got seated at 620 our waitress promptly got our drinks and took our order. That was the last time we saw her or anyone the worked there. She did not come to our table to see if we needed a refill on a drink or let us no why it was taking so long getting our order of 1 pizza. At 7:40 we had enough and left. Based on previous reviews, and even seeing a review on a different site that says it was the "best pizza in Springfield", decided to give this place a try. Safe to say I was underwhelmed for sure. Unsure if it was because we came at lunch time on a Monday or because there weren't any people in the restaurant, but it didn't live up to the expectations I had set in my mind. The vibe and ambiance of the restaurant was good. The crust of the pizza was phenomenal, but the rest of the pizza left much to be desired. Not sure how you mess that order up, but they managed it. Mine was pretty good though, and the breadsticks were awesome. The smells when you walk in we're good enough that they could have charged for that alone, and the ingredients were fresh. They make most of their dough in house, and we were too full to eat desert there but we got a twelve pack of chocolate ship and sea salt cookies to go and they were off the chain! I came to Pappo's for lunch on a Friday. I got to sit outside which was nice, it made for a good atmosphere. I was happy to hear they had a lunch special, $10 for pizza, up to three toppings, salad and drink. I ordered and got the salad within a few minutes, the pizza about ten minutes after that. Not bad at all. The pizza was really good! The sauce is a nice sweet sauce, the ingredients seemed fresh. The service was fantastic. The problem I had, and the reason my review is not a perfect five, is that the crust wasn't cooked through. The bottom and edges were super, but the inside was almost raw dough. I love their lunch special which includes a wonderful salad with all fresh ingredients and a delicious house made dressing! The pizzas that are included in the lunch special are a personal sized 8" either had tossed or thin crust and any and all toppings available for a very reasonable price! Did I mention that the ingredients are fresh too! They have a huge selection of draft and bottled beer as well as soft drinks and spirits if you're so inclined to imbibe! This was really good! My husband was so happy that he basically got a german calzone, he got their sausage and sauerkraut pizza as a calzone and he was one happy husband. First time coming to this location but by far love this place. Good pizza and salads also great costumer service. I also enjoyed how they played music while we ate the place is pretty quiet. I payed 48 dollars for 2 lunches a drink a soda and garlic bread great prices all in all I would recommend coming here or any location. read more
