    Food was lovely. Wait staff was good. We met the owner when was very helpful for us making our selections. The ambiance was of a bbq place. No frills. We had a very small table for two and unfortunately, the table had difficulty holding our food, drink and silverware as it was pretty cramped. A larger table would have been helpful. The Cesar salad with smoked chicken was great, but I wish the dressing were a little thinner, as it was hard to spread on the salad. If I order this again, I will see if they can toss the salad with the dressing in the kitchen. I recommend this place.

    This place has really good barbecue, as good as mine. We sat outside on the patio since it was such a nice day. The service was fast. Looked like a lot of locals eat here. You can come with your dog and hang out. It's that kind of place

    We decided to try Hogtown Smokehouse. For our appetizer we got the frito pie. That was amazing. I got a small side salad. My husband tri3d the hot hog town with a side of mac n cheese. I decided on the turkey sandwich with vinegar slaw. The service was perfect. The restaurant is like a bar restaurant combined with patio seating. The food was delicious. Everything was full of flavor

    The food was delicious! Small place not a lot of seating (about 24 seats total and then about 7 at the bar) but the bartender did some rearranging and got us a table for 2. I had the brisket tray which comes with 2 sauces and 1 side and a piece of bread. I got the pit beans and the original bbq sauce and the garlic bbq both were tasty but really liked the garlic one...give it a try! My friend got the pork tray with Mac and cheese. Because we share I tried her Mac and cheese (which I am super finicky about Mac/cheese). OMGoodness it was amazing. It had great flavor, creamy, with bread crumbs(?) on top!!! Could definitely go back just for that! I thought the price was reasonable for the amount of food. Just a fun neighborhood bbq place with a couple TVs, friendly staff and a quaint feel!

    Ordered the brisket plate with vinegar slaw. Brisket was dry probably due to the fact the meat wasn't well marbled. Disappointing for sure. I also ordered the smoked wings which had good smoked flavor but was also dry.

    First time visit to this one. We were greeted quickly by the super nice waitress / bartender there. She gave us some options on where to sit and asked if we had been in before. She explained the menu to us and gave us a couple recommendations, one that we took. We got there and the atmosphere was fun. Games on the TVs, but what was really funny for us, was the very nice group of regulars that were there at the bar and the table next to us.. They were waiting for Wheel of Fortune to come on, honestly just on first impressions alone, I feel they would have let us join in on the fun if we asked :) Food was amazing. My wife got a French Dip and I got the Southtown. Both came out as fast as you would expect a sit down place to come out. No complaints at all. The meats were amazing! The chicken with the white bbq sauce was awesome, and the roast beef was perfect. Overall, super fun environment, nice people, and amazing food. Inside and outside seating, cool place. We will definitely be back.

    Hogtown is for sure in my Top 3 BBQ places in the country! The food here is absolutely incredible! It's a very unassuming looking place, but the food speaks for itself. Our bartender, Madi, was excellent! They were nice enough to put on the game we wanted to watch as well. I forgot my credit card at the bar when we left, but Madi ran outside and made sure that I got it back. We couldn't have asked for a better experience at Hogtown. The food and the service were exceptional! We will for sure be back if we come to STL again.

There was a bit of a line when I first arrived - but coming from Texas it was nothing compared to some of the bbq lines i've waited in (plus you got to be in the AC) and the line did move pretty quickly. I went with a 2-meat plate and enjoyed the ribs (dry rub), burnt ends, and sides of fried corn on the cob, sweet potato fries, and the ice and fire pickles....absolutely everything that went into my mouth was better than the last bite. The ribs were falling off the bone, the burnt ends tender and smoky (and when paired with THOSE PICKLES YALL). Highly recommend this combo of treats! The serving sizes were generous and as it was I ended up being able to only eat about half my plate but the ribs made for a great midnight snack later! (the fries not so much but that's to be expected) The food, service, and ambiance were all amazing! Definitely worth the hype and a visit whether you're a local or tourist alike (you could tell both crowds were there).

We ordered at the bar, both my friend and I ordering the OG Brisket Sandwiches, mine with Coleslaw and my friend's with fries. No sooner did we sit down did our food come, and WOW, the sandwiches were huge with a pile of perfectly cooked melt in your mouth Brisket. I'm hard pressed to remember any better. The coleslaw was, well, different and hard to explain, but had a tangy mustard kind of taste. The fries on my buddy's plate were fantastic as well. The owner checked on us several times, and obviously valued us as customers. BBQ is huge in St. Louis and the big places and chains get all the attention.
