The shop is tiny but the decor is nice and the staff are always professional and polite. The pastries are AMAZING and you can tell the ice cream is homemade. There isn't any seating but there are benches outside where you can sit and listen to live music. The musicians aren't hired by the bakery but it's always nice to sit and listen. read more

this review is a long time coming, especially after the controversy regarding their building lease. paradise is not a bakery, full stop. they have served the same baked goods for years, the same cookies and muffins every day. there is no innovation, the place is pretty much only good for tourists looking for dessert. its useless to locals unless youre a kid, yes thank you for your cookies that you just keep serving day after day while theres other actual bakeries like jour de fet and louis swiss who serve different and creative offerings each day. those are real bakeries, paradise is not. and i would recommend any locals that stop by that place for coffee go to ink or starbucks instead, yes starbucks is a chain but at least they serve their own whole bean coffee. paradise's coffee is powdered coffee from panera bread, same with their espresso. it does not deserve the high price it has, same with pretty much anything in their shop, its made cheaply wihout much effort. i mean nothing in their shop has any effort in it. tl;dr, paradise is a soulless "bakery" that doesnt deserve the hype it gets, its overrated and a disappointment if you go there more than once. thanks for overpriced powdered coffee read more

This is the best place in Aspen as far as I'm concerned. They make everything from scratch - muffins, cookies, even the ice cream. The coffee is excellent and in a town where even the servers can have attitude, their people are friendly and helpful. Try the quiche muffin - I've never had anything like it. Was just at the Aspen Paradise. Place was packed, all very young people behind the counter, everybody talking amongst themselves and their friends standing at the counter who are their to sociailize, not buy something. One girl charged me, but then went on to charge the next person without telling anyone what I had paid for. Stood there for several minutes while the young man at the counter took several other orders passed me from people who were walking straight up to ice cream counter, by-passing the line behind me. Paradise serves amazing muffins, cookies, and brownies. We stop by several times every time we come to Aspen. Ice cream is also great if you haven't frozen your behind off skiing. I'm not crazy about their espresso drinks but the baked goods are definitely worth a stop. read more

i whole-heartedly agree that this is the best serice you will recieve in all of aspen. funny, since it also is the lowest price for goods here, also. there cookies are unmatched-- even by mom. try the black diamond, which is dark chocolate cookie with white chocolate chips! the apple spice bar & blondie is to die for as well. their gelato is a taste of heaven. the lemonade is made with real lemons- imagine that! after 12 years, i could still eat here every day if i had a better metabolism. *sigh* read more

Don't be fooled by the long lines. This is due to 2 reasons: 1) staff is grossly incompetent and their system for taking orders is ass backwards; 2) lack of better options in town. We tried the muffins, gelato and cookies. They were all subpar at best. The cookies were dry and crumbled with each bite. The gelato was way too sweet and left a lot to be desired. The Only thing that was tolerable were the muffins. We tried four types and about two were ok. Bottom line, go get a sleeve of cookie dough and bake it yourself. read more

My fiancé and I came to Aspen for the first time recently and while exploring, I had a sudden craving for something sweet. Paradise Bakery happened to be right in front of us. This was the off season so there was no line, score! We went in and there was so much to take in--delicious things to take in. My fiancé and I were the only customers so I took my time looking over the variety of goodies. The girl behind the counter seemed a bit impatient because she asked my fiancé if he was waiting (we both came in together). Finally, I just settled on a chocolate chip cookie. It was delicious! Soft and chewy just the way I like it. Not the best first experience but I decided to give it another shot the next day after dinner. This second experience was way different. Again, no line, great! The lady behind the counter greeted us right away in a very friendly manner. Both my fiancé and I wanted ice cream so we took a gander at all the flavors. She waited patiently and took our orders when we were ready, even making nice small talk with us. The ice cream was great! We will definitely come back again! read more
