Recently moving to Hendersonville, NC. I was referred to Paradise Nails by a girlfriend who lives here. I was immediately welcomed by a gentleman when I walked in, the facility appeared very clean and well organized. I explained I used/needed dip product, the gentleman directed me to Tracy. Tracy was wonderful, very kind and accommodating. She offered me a beverage as soon as I set down, she asked me about myself, we chatted and I inquired about her and the nail salon. I found out she and her husband were the owners of Paradise Nails. Tracy did a wonderful job with the dip on my nails, I do French nails and they are perfect. They took me as a walk in today and got me started just a few minutes after I had come in with no appointment, which was very nice and convenient. I don't remember the lady's name that did my nails, but she was very aggressive in the way that she did them. She kept hurting me and being very rough. I don't really mind that though, because my pain tolerance is not too low. What really bothered me was the fact that nothing was clean. The towel that my hands were on looks like it never been washed, nothing looks like it ever been wiped down, and it was overall disgusting. I'll be lucky if I don't get a fungus. This my favorite nail salon. Traci is the master of nails and Justine gives the best pedicures. They often suggest tips for taking care of my nails and will offer up sales but don't push them. Everyone is really friendly and except for holiday periods I never have to wait too long. read more

Paradise nails had a good color selection and I was able to make an appointment. I didn't have the best experience. My nail tech for my fingernails did a decent job. Unfortunately, the SNS dip started to chip after about four days which was disappointing and the nail shape wasn't quite square. She also cut me which I told her but she said it was small. When she finished and added some alcohol, it burned a lot. My toenails were done with regular nail polish which I requested and waited for them to dry but a different nail tech put too much of the top coat on which made the polish bubble. I was at the salon yesterday, I decided to get a full set. The lady that did my nails did not speak English so everything I was asking for was not happening. She put 2 of my nails crooked, when I told her she laughed and said ok, she nicked almost every one of my fingers some were bleeding when I left, my skin was glued to my nails (under my nail skin was glue to the nail), when she used her nail tool to grind my own nails I told her it's burning but of course she did not speak English. I asked for my nails to be square they were round. The new set of nails she put on were cheap and flimsy, I went to Walmart last night I grabbed 2 rolls paper towels of the self and one of my nails broke. I went to Angel Nail Salon today, they fixed my nails the best they could but they told me I need a new set the once I have are very thin and with me having long nails I will break them again. Great job Angel Nail Salon. Unhappy customer, I will never go back to Paradise Nail again, my skin is still burning . $50 dollars spent for ugly nails and pain. Alot of nail salons in asheville are bumping their gel mani price up to $40. Paradise nails is $30, which is what it should be. I like the atmosphere, and they have a huge flatscreen. They do a better job than 'asheville nails' on tunnel road ($35). Not perfect, but good enough for what i get--a simple paint job and keep my nails short. I will come back. Eta: to add to the reviewer that had to goto urgent care; my nail tech was super aggressive with the cuticle scissors, it was hurting a bit, and i was expecting to see blood. However, It didnt end up bleeding. But yeah....just wanted to add that. Eta2: see photo from last visit. When I got to car, I notice my cuticle was bleeding. Different nail tech this time, still overly aggressive with cuticle clippers. When the skin breaks you are now introducing microorganism into the blood stream. And with recent news of the latest superbug, I really dont like this. read more

Took my 6 yo granddaughter in with me for a mani & pedi, she accidentally messed up her big toe and started crying, l was trying to calm her down then the guy came over scolded her for messing them up!! she was already crying!! They will not give you what you want here. I wanted a gel manicure. No tips. They said no. After telling the woman 5 times I don't want tips she made me get the tips because she "knows what she's doing". Clearly she doesn't or she would just give the customer what they want and what they are asking for. I can't wind my watch with tips and I can't even pull the hair thing out of my hair. I came for a $30 manicure and had to pay $65 with tip so the nail technician could have what she wanted. This manicure isn't going to last me a week because I will have to file down the tips so I can do everyday tasks. I should have left the store after being disrespected. Oh and also they don't clean anything between customers. There's a towel that just sits there collecting nail and skin dust. read more

The nail tech was coughing in my face, even with his mask on this was obviously off putting. The nail tech working on my sister kept applying medicine to the cold sore on his lip! My nail tech told me to go wash my hands and some other nail tech was like "No, you sit down!" My sister asked to have a nail fixed that he had left crooked and they barely fixed it and then laughed at her! Over all very uncomfortable situation emotionally and physically. I downloaded Yelp to write this review. After receiving services for the first time and last time today, I thought I should warn other people. If you've been on the infamous hunt around Asheville for a "good nail salon", you can skip this one on your rounds. My nails are uneven, the pedicure was un-enjoyable, and the staff was completely unprofessional. No massage, half-completed steps, technicians discussing money in front of customers, the list goes on. Polish was taken off of my nails and they have never looked this bad in my entire life. I booked a 3:30 appointment on a Tuesday for 2 shellac manicures and 3 pedicures for myself, my sister, and my grandmother. I assumed we would be at the salon for roughly 75 minutes or so, which seems to be the usual time allotted for a mani-pedi. By 4:00, however, all of us were finished and sitting at the drying stations. While I'm sure there are customers out there who would appreciate a quick in-and-out experience, I was hoping for a little more pampering. The shellac manicure was applied DURING our pedicures. The UV lights were placed on a cushion on our laps, so every time I moved my leg as part of the pedicure, the UV light was jostled. I was so concerned about messing up my finger nails that I couldn't really relax and enjoy the foot and leg massage. They seem to be all about the up sell there. Both my sister and I selected their hot candle pedicure at $38 and both of us were asked if we wanted to upgrade to a more expensive treatment. Even though we had selected spa pedicures, we weren't really able to relax and enjoy all the extra pampering because we had to worry about messing up the shellac. It was the most awkward experience I've ever had at a nail salon. The quality of the pedicure and shellac manicure was just average. When I went home, I noticed that the edges of a couple of my finger nails hadn't been cleaned up, so the shellac had pooled and hardened against the skin, which will make it very easy to lift later. I've had much better experience at other salons with similar price points. read more

I have now been back time and again since my original review. I can ONLY address a men's pedicure and have no experience with their other services. The place was packed, but for the first time I called earlier and made a reservation and they took be back within 10 minutes. It seemed to work! I wonder if several other men in AVL had read my earlier review as there were 4 men getting pedi's either right before me or coming in while I was there! Good stuff for this old dude! read more

BEST MANI/PEDI EVER I was consigning clothes next door and needed to kill some time so walked in for a gel manicure and VIP pedicure. I have been getting manicures regularly for 40+ years and I can honestly say, this was one of the better experiences EVER....and the BEST since moving to Asheville 9 years ago from DC. The salon is large and sunny with private area for pedicures with the perfect massage chair ( not too harsh) and a little tray on the armrest for phone and stuff. Relaxing spa music and 2 terrific technicians ( Michael and Jimmy). Unlike some comments, I LIKE having nails and feet done at the same time...and I didn't find the pillow on the lap awkward at all. I live in downtown Asheville but will definitely make the trip back here for mani/pedis. read more

Caveat: I don't live here. I came in for a meeting and needed to get a brow wax asap. I think this place primarily does nails. I walked in and all I could smell were the chemicals. I felt badly for the folks who work there - to have to breathe that all day, every day. It is clean and brightly lit - lots of sunlight. It is in a shopping center, so there is plenty of parking. I was greeted promptly, and even though I had arrived early for my previously scheduled appointment, I was seen within a few minutes. The room where the waxing was done was small, with fluorescent lighting. Not much ambience to speak of. I did get nervous when the esthetician doing the waxing didn't ask me how I wanted my brows done. She was quick and to the point, however, and I was done and out the door within 10 minutes. My brows are a bit thinner than I like, but they look fine. Minus points for pointing out that my skin is quite oily. I think the esthetician was having trouble with getting the wax to stay on my skin. Yes, it's true: my skin is oily. It means I'm going to look amazing when I'm older. I had also been on two planes that day after having gotten up at 4am Mountain Time. They posted a sign requesting tips in cash, so I tipped in cash, but paid with my debit card. This is a fabulous nail salon. I am very a discerning customer. I usually get my nails done in Charlotte, but I needed a dependable salon in Asheville this summer because I find myself here more often. I am a regular now. The owner Tracy is an expert. This is the WORST manicure I've ever gotten. I paid fifty dollars for them not to cut cuticles or even have my nails all the same shape. So many things wrong with this place during Covid times. The technicians did wear masks but that is it. Very little social distancing. Pedicure chairs are less than 1' apart from the other chairs.
