I've been coming here for at least 15 years. I love going to Kathy for a facial and her prices are very reasonable. Kathy is a master at her craft and offers one of the best facial experiences. She even gives you a mini hand and back massage during the facial, complete with extractions. Kathy also does waxing here as well. They also offer nail services here. Came here as a walk-in for a blow-out before going to a friend's wedding. Aaron was great- he had styled my friend's hair the day before for a big PR event, and she loved his work so much that I came back to get my own treatment. I love the products he used, and he spent a lot of time and energy working on my tresses. I have long, thick curls and waves (hello, Indian hair!) and rarely flat iron them. Aaron gave me a great shampoo, and used some argan oil serum, perfect 10 keratin spray (both things I use at home) , a round brush, a hairdryer, and lots of muscle power. 40 minutes and my curls were completely blown out straight, silky smooth. Came here quickly during my extended lunch break on a Friday. My friend and I were immediately greeted by Michael and sat down in a chair within 5 minutes. I showed my nail tech, Michelle, what I wanted and she began to work on my nails. She did a great job; however, there were a few fingers that got cut throughout the process which hurt :( Prices are great and ALL staff is so friendly. Acrylics are $20, $10 more for gel, and $2.50 per finger for design. As other reviews have mentioned, the only bad thing about this place is that you rarely have one person work on you from start to finish. Often times you get passed on from person to person, like I did. I don't mind because everyone is friendly; however, I do understand others frustration. read more

Michael (owner) is a very friendly, professional, and client-oriented man. I've come here for 3 years now and not once I ever got disappointed in the service. If you walk in and expect immediate service, you're not always in luck. The salon looks empty but they honor appointments just like every other salon. My favorite manicurist is Michell, she's very sweet, detailed-oriented, and creative. Show her a photo and she'll match 99 % of the sample. I also got helped by Thuý for pedicure. I used to go here for my haircuts until they started replacing the people with newcomers who do not really know what they are doing. It is also annoying when you tell the hair cutter what you want, but they don't really understand you even when you show them multiple pictures and describe what you want in detail. I mean, they do understand English, but I guess they have some sort of attitude problem. I will not really visit this place again, despite the fact that I was a regular customer because of this experience. Most of the hair cutters are Asian males who are probably gay (which I do not care about), but they definitely do have an attitude problem, unless you are female. I am usually not a negative person, but I just had to be honest about my experience and it was really a frustrating and tiring one. read more

My friend referred me to this place. Mani and pedi are $20. $40 for gel mani and pedi. I got both. It was suppose to last longer than regular nail polishes. I got on Sat and this is what it looks like on Weds. I have had regular nail polishes that last much longer. As you can see, the job was done poorly with too much nail polish on my skin. So as the nail polish peels away fr the skin, it came off from my nails. I would not come back. read more

I'm a dude, I don't get my nails done. But I've gotten a pedicure once before, when my nails were too far gone to even make them passable. This time, my lady was getting all fingers and toes did, so I figured they could clean up mine a little too, since it's relatively inexpensive ($12?) and couldn't fix them up myself. Not that I've ever had any real problems with it. And a different place I went before, had no trouble doing them and then I didn't have to cut or worry about them for another while. So the lady starts going to town, doesn't talk much (doesn't speak English, red flag?), kept trying to turn the massage chair on, it turns off. I turn it back on, it turns off. This continues... for a while. She cleans my feet and then starts going to town with the clippers. Quick and easy, snip snip snip. Then the digging, oh the digging, you know when they clean out the little corners and fix the cuticles or whatever. Well yeah this lady kept digging b/c I knew one side of my right big toe had a little piece of nail hanging off and stuff tended to get under, also. Well it didn't hurt too bad, just a bunch of pressure. Then she did the rest of mine, then she went BACK to that toe and did it some more. At that point was when I started to get a little concerned, but it was too little too late. She'd cut the corner of my big toenail off at a 45 degree angle and went as far down as possible to clean it out and remove any debris or file away the rough edge of the nail. Not only did it look like it was cut wrong, it was kind of sore. The other side was the same way, but less pronounced. Within 2 days of getting home, and swelled up and turned red. I could barely touch it, cuz it hurt. So I did whatever I could, soaked the thing I tried to fix it? (Not sure how that's possible, but I figured some pus or something might be trying to escape, but never did. I've always cut my toenails nearly straight across and had no problems with ingrown nail or cleaning out any debris or buildup of anything in the corner of my toe. Another day goes by, the thing is full on infected. Went to the doctor (urgent care), he's like oh yeah this is not uncommon when people CUT THEIR NAIL TOO FAR down! Ughhhhh.. I paid this moron $15 (with tip) to mess me up? A $20 copay later, he's shot my ENTIRE big toe up with Novocain and removed nearly 1/3rd of my toenail. Yes there was blood. Put a bandage on for 2 days, stopped hurting and no redness so I guess the problem went away. By the way he says, oh yeah it'll grow back... in 6 months. Owner (David) is nice, but still, don't go here unless you know the person working on you and they've done a good job before. Bad karma. read more

I almost did not want to write this review for David T., it feels like I'm divulging a secret that needs to be well kept. But alas, when one is great at their craft and is an artist in their own right, the world has to be told. My cousin and I have slightly different types of hair. While mine is thick and seriously long, my cousin's hair is thin and equally long. David worked with both of our manes beautifully. He styled my cousin's hair with long layers and side bangs while he put more layers in mine. I was mesmerized when he dried and styled my hair with two round brushes and a dryer. We are happy and very satisfied with how our hair came out. David is very pleasant to be around with, professional, and a talented and skilled hairstylist. Pros: $21 for mani pedi, newer chairs, GREAT group of ladies. I get a mani pedi here usually when I get my hair done. Westminster is a bit far for me, but I'd probably drive to Barstow for a cut and color by David Ta!!!! I like to make a day of it when I go up there--- Bali Foot Spa/Massage is $25 for an hour, then Mani Pedi, then hair, then Pho or vegetarian vietnamese dinner! It's all in the same shopping center :) Love that. Cons: Parking can be annoying. You should make an appointment if you don't like waiting. Especially for the Bali place. I came to David on recommendation by a friend. Very happy with the highlights that David gave me - went a little lighter in the summer and darker in the fall. I especially like that the streaks of highlights are soft and they grow out naturally. My friend had a horrible experience with AARON...we just want to warn others of his skills. Aaron says to me after the fact " I thought her bangs were grown out and that she wanted them cut again" WTF!!??? Did she say cut them??? NO!!! My daughter has been in tears over how horrible her hair looks and I don't blame her. Then came my haircut.... I asked for LONG layers and bangs long enough to lay side ways below my eyebrows. I too have extremely short bangs now. My shortest layer is shorter then my ear and I asked for long layers! Aaron needs to LISTEN to exactly what clients ask for and tell clients to not even bother showing him a picture of what they want if he's not going to give them anything remotely close to what the picture looks like. Review for DAVID only. He does thee best highlights! None of that candy cane, zebra striped crap I am completely fearful of at other Vietnamese salons. I always get compliments on my highlights and I am always happy to send people David's way. Every time I go to him, I'm never worried about how my hair will come out because I always leave with exactly the color/look I envisioned. Very reasonable pricing, and very accommodating. I come from LA to get my hair done with David and have run late a couple times (I don't think I need to explain LA traffic), and he is always understanding and doesn't make me feel bad about it at all. I promise not to be late again!!! Well I didn't really know what I wanted, but he did a wonderful job with what I said. Funny how he response to my hair. This is a review strictly for the stylist David. I've mentioned in previous reviews for salons I've visited that I've never had that amazing salon experience where I swear my loyalty to my absolutely fabulous stylist... Well, David is the ab fab to my hair and I pledge my allegiance to his shears!!!! David has worked his magic on THREE GENERATIONS of my family! He styles (including cut & color) for my mom, my sister and me and my 4 year old niece begs him to paint her little itty bitty finger and toe nails. I showed up to David and told him that I wanted subtle highlights and told him that my mom and sister rave about him so I trusted my dreads in his hands. Not only did he get the color absolutely correct (golden brown/caramel), but he cut my hair exactly how I wanted. He works fast but spends great amount of detail to what you tell him and we had a blast gossiping about nothing in particular. He's incredibly busy and always booked but he makes the time for you and treats every client with respect. David operates independently from the salon (I think everyone rents their space) so request him specifically. The salon itself is a regular/simple Vietnamese salon (not the most luxurious) where you can get a pedicure. I'd probably give the salon a 3 but I give my experience with David a solid 5 stars. read more

I've had horrific haircuts at Westminster salons before where the stylist totally butchered my bangs so I was already jumpy going into this salon. HOWEVER DAVID WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I've been going to this place on and off for about 10 years. I'll usually stop going because after awhile the quality lacks, but I always end up going back 6 or so months later. I guess that good 6 months has come to end after today. I'll never be back nor will I continue to refer the numerous people I have in the past. I called this morning for an appointment and specially asked for Rose for a spa mani/pedi, like I've been doing every 2 weeks for months. The receptionist asked if I could come in then and I said no, but I could make it in about an hour. I show up for my appointment and no clients are getting their nails done, but about 6 nail techs are all sitting together and just stare at me, not saying a word in English to me. After a good 3 minutes Rose walks up and asks me to sit. I sit and she starts the water. After about 5 minutes, after she's started taking my old gel off she asks if someone else can do my pedi. In the mean time another one of the girls looks at the book and says it will work better for them if 2 girls work on my nails so I reluctantly agree. Then, they send the one nail tech I cannot stand and about a year ago made a big stink about after she did my gels and left about 1/8 inch of nail polish on my nails, so thick they didn't dry with bubble and fuzz all over them. I felt trapped as they had already started my nails today so I couldn't say/do much. About ten minutes passed when a girl walked in saying she had an appointment with Rose. One of the girls asked me if I had an appointment because someone else had an appointment. Mind you, the moron Receptionist guy who always acts like he is too good for life, Michael, never said a word to me or attempted to figure out the situation despite being the one who makes appointments. I told the woman I did have an appointment and she told me Rose had to help the other girl. They knew damn well someone else was coming in when they originally looked at the books. Why didn't they tell me then that Rose wasn't going to be able to help me at all??? Needless to say my nails look like complete shit. The polish is all over my cuticles which have hangnails all over the place. When this happens with gels and it grows out they automatically peel. The polish one my toes is splochy and messy. They knew I was pissed as I am usually super friendly. Mid way through Michael approached me and said he didn't know when I called I wanted Rose, as I didn't say it. DUDE, I did say it and when have I ever used anyone else recently??? I come here every 2 weeks!!! Just apologize and admit you made a mistake!! I paid and he didn't ask if everything was fine like he usually does. He just simply told me the price and asked how much I wanted to leave for a tip. Didn't offer a discount or anything to accommodate me even though he probably also agreed my nails looked like hell! I left ZERO, yes ZERO, which I never do. My 5 years old niece could have done my nails better and painted them better!! I wish Rose would move because she is the only decent person in there and deserves to be in a much better salon!!!
