Reviews were not so good, and we felt that we should, go elsewhere, out of the hood. But lazy got the best of us and we opted to eat where we stood; staying at the hotel made for an easy could. The service by Peter, the two nights we ate, could not have been better, make no mistake. Attentive and professional, in his neat and clean attire, would be anyone's claim to simply aspire. The food was delicious, and the drinks too! Margarita and Martini danced to the light of the moon until midday, and only because checkout is at noon. I would continue in my swoon but the seating was much to comfortable as we settled in relaxed and renewed.

Phenomenal service, food, ambiance. Very reliable!! They are opening back up full force for dinner and breakfast is very serviceable.

Not what you expect from a hotel restaurant but it was great! Normal hotel restaurant selections but they elevated it in small touches. The food was good, tasty and presentation was so pretty. The staff were pleasant, personable and helpful. Our staff person, Ally was so fun. Great smile and she teased our 9yo son about his "coffee" which was just white milk in a coffee mug. Thank you Ally.

I am not a big fan of this place. Parallel is located inside the Marriott. It has a nice interior and a pleasant atmosphere. However the place is impossible to find. Seriously. I got lost when attempting to find it even with my GPS. The turn into the hotel comes up really suddenly so be on the lookout for that. They, or the hotel in general, really need a better sign or something. When I did find my way inside, I then could not find the restaurant and some ladies pointed me toward it. Not a friendly vibe in the air. I wasn't feeling to hot and just had a grilled cheese sandwich. The menu was extremely limited anyway so I figured how can I go wrong with a grilled cheese. But I didn't care for it. The bread had sort of a bland taste. I do not think it was white bread. I did not finish it.The food also took a long time and the place itself didn't feel comfy or welcoming. There was this odd stiff quality to everything even the tables. And given how limited the menu was, I did not feel the urgent need to come back. As for the positive, it's pretty inside and seems clean. The staff themselves were quite pleasant. It ultimately was just an OK experience for me.

Very enjoyable lunch. The menu was short and sweet. I asked if I could just have a simple grill cheese sandwich on sourdough bread. The waiter said no problem. I decided to try the sea salt fries with it. My daughter chimed in that she would have them same thing. In no time our sandwiches were delivered exactly as we ordered. The fries were heavenly. The price was heavenly too. If I ever get back to this hotel I will be sure I go to the Parallel!

Overpriced. Breakfast. Buffet. WAY WAY overpriced. With few (if any) a la carte options - depending on the disposition of your server on that given day. Here was a conversation with my waitress last time I was there: Me: "I would like to order off the menu" Her: "We're only offering the buffet today: Me: "Does that mean that I can't have the egg white fritata?" Her: "Oh, ok. I'll put in your fritata." See the fritata is only a dollar or two less than the buffet. So there was no problem for the waitress. She wouldn't lose out on padding the check. Some of the other menu items are far less expensive. Bastards. Money grubbing bastards. Or maybe they just imagine everyone is on expense accounts and it's just easier for everyone to charge each person $14 for a breakfast buffet. Or maybe they are lazy. Regardless. It makes me want to stay elsewhere next time I am in the area. Or, at the very least come prepared with directions to the nearest alternative off-site breakfast destination. Peh.

Not your typical hotel restaurant! Consistently great, farm-to-table, inventive (but not pretentious) menu. So good!

They have a Happy Hour seven days a week, with several discounted beers, cocktails, and food items. Live entertainment is frequently offerred. The menus are pub & tavern style foods, and on Sundays they offer a nicely rounded brunch menu. Our bartender/server Ashley (who was servimg a busy bar and entire restaurant area alone) was focused and efficient and readily understood and embraced sarcasm from her tendees. The manager, Todd, was vigilant without being imposing, and obviously had a firm grip on the flow throughout the restaurant. I had the Barn Burger that was prepared and presented very nicely, and I chose the Caesar Salad over fries, which turned out to be the right choice as it was one of the best Caesar Salads I've ever had. The wife had the Frittata and loved it. We also split a Fondue Pub Chips - house made potato chips with several wonderful toppings. The signature cocktails were very different, priced well, and did the job. In totality, the experience was fantastic and I can see this place as the place everyone will want to be in 2026 and beyond. Operated by a group of restauranteurs that run several other chic restaurants in our area. UPDATE: We came back here five days later and I had a Pork Chop Scarpariello (excellent) and the wife had an Arthur Avenue Meatball Spring Roll with marinara sauce dip (amazingly good) and the Chinese Chicken Salad (excellent also).

Rumor has it the restaurant has changed ownership in the last year- and if that's true- can the old owners buy it back? There has been such a decline in food quality and service! Let's begin with all the ways the food was subpar. First- my mother did the fixed price menu. They forgot one of her courses entirely. The shrimp cocktail was not in the building. Not that it's a huge loss- you get four measley shrimp. Then, the lamb chops were supposed to come with arugula- and the "salad" was a weird container of lettuce and cannellini beans- beans were never mentioned anywhere on this menu. We honestly didn't even know whose meal that was supposed to pair with because nothing like it was on the entire menu. Food allergy risk anybody? The lamb chops were also bone dry- no trace of the reduction or glacier sauce that the menu specified. The worst offense of all were the salad dressings. They were completely inedible! The balsamic vinaigrette was just pure vinegar- like get out your Easter eggs to dye because that's really all you can do with straight vinegar. The raspberry vinaigrette had the consistency of a jam and lo and behold, tasted like a container of raspberry jam. Another was pure olive oil and the honey mustard was oily and way too honey- I think they forgot the mustard part. On top of the food being a total train wreck- the worst part was the service. From start to finish the staff was rude and made it seem like they were doing us a favor by serving us- that's your literal job! Both when we placed the order, picked up the food AND when my mom drove back to get her missing course they acted like we were such an inconvenience and annoyance. For the prices they charge- all of this was unacceptable. Pack orders correctly. Make edible food. Treat your customers with the slightest bit of hospitality. It's not hard to figure out. It's worth noting that when we returned for our missing course another customer was there demanding money back for spoiled food they were given on new years as well. Patrons of Shelton- raise your standards! We don't have a ton of higher end dining options and thus the ones we do have need to exceed expectations. Unfortunately, or maybe it's actually fortunately for us, we won't be back.
