I will preface this by saying I'm not a big Buffalo flavor person, but I'm a vegetarian and didn't feel like getting my usual vegetarian app - brussel sprouts. The amount of blue cheese was perfect for me (despite the reviews) as it would have made it too salty and greasy. Next was my entree: Modified Kettle Cooked Zoodles. I've visited three times and now I can this spot. It's elegant and the service matches in quantity. I've enjoyed a brunch and two happy hours. I appreciate having happy hour at the regular tables and not just the bar stools (my shirt legs struggle). Happy hour: The cocktails are all half off and they are well crafted, not just well drinks. If cocktails are not your style, all the wine glasses are also included so you don't have to settle for one you don't like (aka the one white and red no one wants). I came here a couple of weeks ago for the first time, and unfortunately, it will also be my last. We stopped in last minute to celebrate with a friend visiting from Vermont. We were seated at the bar and immediately greeted with attitude from the bartender, Spencer. All of us work in the industry--I've been a bartender for years--so we understand how to behave as guests and how to treat service staff. From the moment we sat down until the moment we left, Spencer's demeanor was rude and dismissive. On top of that, the drinks he made were some of the worst I've ever had. When Spencer disappeared, we asked another bartender for drinks, which helped, but the damage was already done. Whether he's new or simply disliked us for no reason, Spencer left us with such a negative impression that whenever I think of Sinclair, I immediately think of his poor attitude and service. Some meals feel like a routine and then there are nights like this where everything just hits. The Sinclair's Sunday Evening Surf and Turf is a masterclass in financially responsible indulgence. I kicked things off with an Espresso Martini and a half dozen Blue Point oysters, because why not, then dove into a Caesar Salad and Prosciutto Wrapped Mozzarella that set the tone for what was coming next. A perfectly cooked Filet Mignon, two buttery Maine Lobster tails, grilled asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes that could easily ruin any future attempt at eating them elsewhere. Dessert was sorbet and gelato to cleanse the palate before taking a Double Chocolate Layer Cake to go because I was stuffed. Drinks were Old Fashioneds with dinner back to the Espresso Martini for dessert. Service was flawless. George, my waiter, was on point the entire night and even the host kept checking in like he actually cared. Not a single complaint. The vibes, the food, the service, was a ten out of ten. Visited this restaurant while visiting friends who live in the town. I would call this place 'The Smith' of Fairfield, since it clearly feels like a knock off the beloved chain in NYC. We had a nice large booth table for 4 and we were seated as soon as we checked in for our reservation. We shared a bunch of apps to start - the buffalo cauliflower (generous portion), the roasted Brussel sprouts (average taste), the tuna on crispy rice and dumplings (neither which seem to be on the menu still today). I had a Patio Lemonade for my drink and it was OK, not my favorite cocktail. For mains, I had the cherry pepper pork chop - good meal, large portion - wish the pork was a little bit thinner but still good. My husband had the sesame chicken fried rice which he enjoyed. Service was pretty good. Atmosphere was lively and it the restaurant had a nice open air flow. If I was local, I could see myself dining here again. read more

When looking for somewhere to eat with my family after a celebratory event at University of Bridgeport The Sinclair was such a heaven sent. Called a few minutes before arriving to see if they could accommodate a table for 7. They told us to come right over and tables were quickly arranged and ready for us once we arrived. Waiter service was very appropriate. Present but not overbearing. Drinks were brought out quickly and no errors when it came to taking orders from a disorganized group. The menu seemed to included several types of cuisine but everyone seemed very happy with the food. 3 of us ordered penne al la vodka, Salmon BLT for mom, General Tso chicken and rice for dad and steak salad also ordered. The bread for the table ordered was also delicious; warm center enveloped in firm exterior. Everyone was impressed with the bread and only offended we weren't sooner. read more

Our special double birthday dinner at Sinclair was a very mixed experience. The service was really friendly and the table was very roomy. The bar area was a bit noisy but that is to be expected. We ordered several appetizers to share, including the tuna tartare which was a good sized portion with really great chips which we later used to eat up the remains of the sauce that came with the jambalaya rice balls. The rice balls themselves were ok but the sauce was very tasty. One of our favorites of everything we ate were the roasted brussels sprouts. They were really well done with a taste of honey. So those were all either good or had a really good component (i.e., the creole sauce) the same could not be said for the pork fried rice which was really bland. When we don't finish a dish, that means something not so good. Another thing we did not finish was the red sangria. We probably should have returned it as it was a not very good red wine with an overlay of super sweet cherry something. I had to trade my faux-jito mocktail, which was fine but didn't have much pineapple taste, with my birthday girl daughter who was so disappointed in her selection. The paloma was good but the basil sangria was pretty bland. Again, it was truly a mixed bag. For entrees, we had the grilled lambchops which were good and the steak frites which was just ok. The new orleans mussels had a really good broth but it seemed as if the mussels were steamed someplace else and just dropped on top. There was no broth at all in any of the shells and the mussels, although small, had a great mussel taste but no creole flavor at all. Once again - a very mixed experience. The desserts we chose, the chocolate lava cake, tiramisu and crème brulee were fine. We were very surprised that the restaurant offered nothing for a double birthday dinner (one of the celebrants being 97 - it was a pretty special event). Warning - if you do let them know you have a birthday, they will bring a candle (just a candle, nothing more) and sing really, really, loudly which can be embarrassing and a little over the top. I'm really not sure it is at all worth mentioning if you are celebrating a special event. The service again was very nice and attentive (again - maybe too much when it came to the happy birthday serenade) but the food was a mixed experience. Some of it was really good but then the other half of the offerings just weren't. We will have to think about whether we will be coming back. read more

Honestly where do I even begin? My friend called over a month and a half ago to book a party of 19 (everyone is traveling in for this). She gave all her information and was told everything was set. Great! right? No Wrong. We heard nothing leading up to it, so she responsibly followed up THREE DAYS before. THANK GOD she did because suddenly there was "no record" of the reservation. Instead of apologizing they tried to say she must've called the wrong place and that they would "never have accepted that to begin with." Like be serious. Gaslighting isn't gonna work. Who calls and makes up that they made a reservation somewhere. Anyway! We were referred to the manager, Cat, who offered zero accountability and more questioning instead of help. No apology. No effort. Just "not our problem" energy. She then said they would've only booked a large party from 3 PM or 9 PM. That's not a solution that's a covering your own behind. Now 19 people are traveling in and we're scrambling because a reservation made well in advance apparently means absolutely nothing here. If you're planning a group event proceed with caution. We decided to sit at the bar, where one couple was taking up about 1/2 the bar with jackets and bags on chairs, bar tender didn't even acknowledge us trying to sit down till after we were standing there for over 5 min, debating on should we just go somewhere else. Had a drink, still being quite ignored and decided to get a table. Was sat down, and handed two menus and one that stated "lunch" on it, were very confused what was going on, and why, but was a long day and just caught up with my wife. Ordered some apps that came out in 10 seconds, the salad was delicious and the meatballs were cold. Was followed up with ordering just some shareable side plates, and again came out almost instantly. Asked for a fresh glass with another glass of wine, and got a wet glass that smelt like wine, when I went in to ask for a fresh glass, over heard the young gentleman man saying, what I rinsed it. You're at a fairly nice restaurant that has a great deal of glasses, don't know why it was an issue to request a fresh glass. Sat outside where it was a bit quieter, and nice and warm. Towards the end, asked the waitress why we were handed a lunch menu, and she then explained as our meal was over, specials were on the other side. Guess was on us for not thinking to flip a menu that was handed to us with lunch specials on it. Finished the meal, got the check and saw my wife's drink from the bar, which was paid for at the bar, was now on the table bill as well. Was too exhausted to even question it and paid and left. Went home and from multiple good experiences here questioned if we would come back. Love this spot for summer outside, but this was just an overall bad experience with the waitress we had, if we return hope to not have her! read more

They have the most asinine alcohol policy I have ever seen. Students of drinking age were told they could use their Stag Card or a Passport Card as proper ID on Tuesday. My wife and I took my 21 year old sister out to celebrate her graduation that Friday and they refused to serve her without a "parent" present, stating that the policy had changed already. It had been 3 days since they communicated their original policy. My wife and I are almost 30 years old trying to treat someone of drinking age to dinner and to be denied service is the most non-sensical "company policy" I've ever experienced. read more

I dined here with my family for my wife's birthday. It took slightly long to get our first cocktail order in, about 10-15 minutes. But, after that, timeliness was not a problem. The cocktails were excellent, everyone at the table ordered something different and they all were well-made. Nothing was overly sweet, and they all had unique flavor profiles and fun glassware. The environment was pleasant. The decor is comfortable and stylish, and the noise level was very reasonable. We were able to converse easily across the table. The appetizers were delicious. We ordered the cheeseburger egg rolls, chicken taquitos, fried brussel sprouts, some oysters, and table bread service. Each one was delicious and unique. We felt similarly about our entrees. We ordered steak frites, penne vodka with chicken cutlet, the skirt steak special with mushrooms, and a seafood medley with jasmine rice. Everyone raved about their meals and we would be happy to come back again. The only reason we didn't get dessert is because we were so stuffed. But, even with that, our waiter still brought out a single scoop of vanilla ice cream with a candle for my wife's birthday, a nice touch. Overall, five stars is well-deserved. Came here for my besties birthday dinner. It was such a great evening. We sat "outside." Which is heated. Loved it! The wait wasn't bad at all for a Saturday night. It was packed, but we waited for only 20 minutes. We decided to get drinks at the bar. The queens favorite mule and the twig and berries were so yummy! We ordered a few appetizers - shrimp cocktail, Buffalo cauliflower, fried meatballs, and the Mariniere mussels. Everything was delicious!! I was full lol so I decided to get a ceasar salad, which was tasty. My friends ordered the chicken parm and the pork chop Scarpellio. Both were delicious! My friends had been chatting about Sinclair for a while so we agreed we'd spend our Galentine's night out grabbing dinner & drinks here. We went on a Friday evening (2/11/22) and boy was it crowded. My girlfriend had to go in to add our name to the waitlist while I looked for parking. When we got there, the bar was also packed but some of the fellas gave us their spots so we could order a drink while we waited. We got a chance to chat with the other patrons who were so nice and seemed to be from all over CT, some even from NY. Our table was ready in about 15 minutes so we sat and ordered our meals. The menu is quite extensive which I appreciated. I went with the calamari salad and fries, and for my drink, I opted for a bourbon mule. Our food came out relatively quickly and I must say that calamari salad was made to perfection. I had the best meal at the table it seemed so it was definitely the right choice. Overall, the service was good, food was delicious and the ambience landed nicely with me.
