BEWARE: This company does not even deserve one star. There is a reason they have a sign on their counter that says, 'NO REFUNDS or EXCHANGES." The quality of work you will receive is extremely low and not standard of a professional jeweler. They will mislead you in telling you they have an onsite jeweler and that they provide quality work. They tell you that they stand behind their 100 customer satisfaction by offering to REWORK your rings to a DIFFERENT ONE OF THEIR THREE OUTSOURCED jewelers, but when you refuse, they will tell you that they can't help you anymore. TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. Background: I went in to get sizing beads on both my engagement and wedding band. Jill helped me. I asked if there was an on site jeweler and she said yes. (I find out after the fact, this is not the case.) Then she gave me about 2 seconds of her time to size me and send me off on my way. (red flag) When they called me to pick them up a couple weeks later, I had to head there with my 2 year old son, so I paid for them and went to try them on in the car. To my HORROR, the sizing beads WERE UNEVEN, SHARP, ONE WAS OVER THE INSIDE OF A DIAMOND, and THERE WAS LOOSE METAL HANGING OFF. I took my 2 year old and I went back in to the store and showed the gentleman the issues with the beads, the placement, the sizing, the sharpness, and the warping of my band. I told him this was unacceptable quality for a professional jeweler and I asked for a refund to get them fixed at another location. He said they don't provide refunds, but they guarantee 100 customer satisfaction. I said it didn't look like anyone looked at the quality of my rings before returning them back to me and I was surprised that they were given to me in this condition. The gentleman stated that maybe Jill didn't have time to look and that she had been busy. (Red flag) Since Jill wasn't there, he said he could't help me unless I wanted to leave the rings with him to get re-worked with another one of their three offsite jewelers or I had to come back the following Tuesday when Jill was back in the store. It was a Friday. Over the weekend, I took the rings to MULTIPLE other jewelers in STL to assess the quality of the sizing beads on the rings. They couldn't believe that a company would have returned my rings to me in this condition and identified multiple issues with the way in which the work was done. I called Paramount back and told them this. They responded by saying they have been in the business for 80 years and Jill 30 years and that if I am refusing to have my rings sent back to be re-worked then there is nothing else they can do for me, but they will not give me a refund. Again, I told him I did not have confidence in this establishment in performing the work on my rings again and I'd just appreciate a refund to get them done by a different jeweler. He said there is nothing more they can do for me. Finally when Jill called me back, she said she HAD looked at the rings and stood behind the quality, which was surprising for someone working in the jewelry business for 30 years. OVERALL: I would take your business elsewhere. If you choose to still go with this company and you've read this far, then you'll be out of money and you'll still have to find another company to do the correct work on your jewelry. I sent them elsewhere where the jeweler was onsite and they came back PERFECT. I told them the situation and they worked with me to provide me with rings that looked and felt beautiful. read more

Will never go there again. I took in a ring to have a stone replaced. My Konstantino Turquoise ring. Paul, the guy that worked on it ruined my ring. When I complained he would not listen. He became hostile and defensive. I let him know it was a beautiful ring and he ruined it. Will never go there again. Don't take anything to be fixed. read more

I've been going here for years, regadless of the dismal location, specifically for watch bands. The last one that I purchased (leather) fell apart after several weeks. On the same visit, I dropped off a ring to be re-sized. When I picked the ring up, it was still too large which I pointed out to the salesman -- his response: your hands will swell in the summer and then it will fit (or something to that effect)! I believe in supporting local business. I went to Paramount to get my late wife's wedding ring resized. The woman that waited on me said that they would not be able to do it the way I wanted it done. They do not do castings. I asked if she could had any shops that she could recommend. She said that she only uses her store and she was not able to recommend anyone else. That's understandable. The shop owner came behind the counter looking for something and I said the the woman that maybe he would know of a place. He put his hand up and said "to busy" and walked away. He could have said many things to convey to me that he valued my business or future business but instead showed that he did not care. I realize that he would not make any money from me today but now he will not get any of my business in the future. He simply doesn't care about being helpful unless it profits him. I will never shop there again even if they had better pricing than anyone else. I know that I will not get the proper customer service after the sale. I stopped by to get an estimate on having my engagement ring resized. The owner was not friendly or welcoming. He claimed that he has been in the busy for 75 years and that he would take care of me. As I was trying to explain the ring to him he rudely interjected and wouldn't even let me finish before he starting dissing the ring and saying to never buy jewelry from anywhere else but from him. He tried to me that I needed a new band for my ring because mine was too thin then proceeded to show me a $500 band of his. He also told me it would cost me $90 to have my 14k white gold ring resized for 1.5 sizes. And on top of that another $45 to have a sterling silver Claddagh ring resized 1 size. Mind you that it would probably be cheaper to buy a new band and a new Claddagh ring for these prices! I was entirely skeptical from the start as soon as the owner was not friendly or welcoming. I decided to take my business to another local jeweler (Glenn Betz Jewelry) who told me that I did not need a new band--my band is a light weight band and this is just the style of it, there is nothing wrong with it and it is secure. Additionally, he resized BOTH of my rings for a total of $60--LESS THAN 1/2 OF WHAT PARAMONT WAS GOING TO CHARGE ME!!! After telling my fiance, I later found out that he had taken a watch to Paramount the week prior and they charged him $175 to adjust a $350 watch. Do NOT go here!!! Really disappointed. I took my new engagement ring in to be sized down. Man behind the counter told me he could make it half a size smaller and that would be perfect. I went to pick it up a week later and tried it on. It was as if nothing had changed. I asked to see it on a ring sizer and was told it was in use. The (different) man behind the counter said it is impossible to size down a ring like mine and that once I put a band on top, it will stay in place. Then they charged me $30.00 for this service. You'll know him because he is the older, round, bitchy, red-faced, rude man behind the counter who barks orders at everybody else! Upon my arrival, he was dealing with a custom design jewelry piece that I'm sure the woman spent thousands of dollars on . She's in front of me, while standing behind her, I hear him talk to her like she's a child: condescendingly and annoyingly rudely! Amazingly, and much to my chagrin,she goes through with the deal and leaves! Again, in front of me, I'm at his alter of shame now, , he bitches about how she couldn't communicate and how over- her he was, right in front of me , no less...again! When it's time to help me, he's equally rude, bitchy, condescending And objects to me using the word "just" in a sentence! Apparently in his jewelry world, when people say just he thinks they don't understand all that word entails, ie...."just" make it a little bigger, blows his mind , Apparently he doesn't do " just" very well, And because of that it frustrates him and he acts-out, ( like a frustrated Child) LOUDLY) !!At this juncture, I've had enough and I quickly correct him, tell him to calm down he's going to have a heart attack and advise him about his bad behavior, pick up my jewelry and leave, never to return to his joint! Took my brand new Seiko watch to be resized (band).....after having 2 links taken out at a different jeweler (my mistake, thought 2 would work - but needed a third...... took 5 minutes and cost $10). Paramount is close to home - so I stopped by for another adjustment. I was told my watch was, in essence, a piece of crap that would be lucky to run for 12 months. The watch technician (who I believe was the owner or manager) was unable to adjust the watchband (told me the pins were the wrong size when they came directly off of the band)... What should have been a 5 minute operation turned into a "come back tomorrow" project. To their credit - they did call to inform me that the watch was ready some hours later..... When I picked it up I was again informed that Seiko was, in their opinion, a inferior brand and I was lucky they could adjust the band.... Charged me $20 bucks for their time and effort.... My perspective: A 10 year old with a new timex should be treated like a older person with a new Rolex.... Nuff said! read more

I will admit that I am a bit of a watch nerd but I don't consider that a bad thing. I regularly need watch batteries so I am always on the lookout for places that can do this for me, check a watch over for problems and generally cater to my nerdiness. This place has everything I want in a watch shop. They are actually a jewelry store with watches but the watch selections are terrific. I am personally addicted to Tisot watches and they have one on the best selections on hand that I know of in St. Louis. They also carry the usual Citizn and Bullova and for a little more refined statement they have Bering. I always find them to be friendly, fast and efficient when I have stopped in for batteries and I would recommend them anytime you need a watch battery or repair. read more

Best locally owned jewelry store. They have been in business a long time, so that says something about them. My husband bought my wedding rings there over 12 years ago. I get nothing but compliments on them. I receive compliment on how beautiful and perfect they are. They have a stunning shine which is not seen in all diamonds.
