The coffee is fresh and delicious. Very good atmosphere! Fresh sweat breads and yummy kolaches :) Can definitely get crowded but you can also drink your coffee outside! Don't really expect much of a conversation with the baristas lol they are really busy making delicious coffee and honestly it is awesome just watching them do their job, you can tell they know and love what they do. Also if you live in Jamaica Beach or have a bay house in the neighborhood it's definitely worth the morning walk to the café if you have yet to try the place.

You can tell the owner here really cares about his coffee. Everything is super intentional, well thought out, and of the highest quality. There were no gluten free options I'm pretty sure, and certainly no gluten and dairy free options. My boyfriend got some kind of baked good, maybe a croissant? He really liked it. :)

Coffee and tea were amazing! Service was exceptional. The coffee house was very inviting. Our barista was very friendly and added an extra touch to the top of my latte. ( foam heart) I highly recommend trying this business if you are in the area.

Found this coffee shop while in Jamaica beach on family vacation! I've been to Jamaica beach a few times in the past and never knew about this cute local spot! The barista was friendly and helped me decide on a drink! I ended up getting a Pour Over (origin: Columbia, Sidra, natural process) and was impressed with the quality and taste! It was a full of fruity flavors, aromatic, & light. There was a good amount of seating, quiet space and not very busy. They also roast their own beans, loved this spot and will be back!!

i only rated this low because you have to self order in an ipad kiosk, and it's not super clear how to order what you want. so no customer service. sorry- just not my style. plus standing in line with only one barista.

Best coffee on the island! There's also free wifi if you want to work for a bit, and a nice pastry selection.

Venados turned out to be an excellent place to fix my food deprivation. Both salsas that accompanied the chips were very full flavored and delicious. The chips were fine taste wise, but there were more broken pieces than in tact chips. No biggie but a little odd. We had queso and it was more than adequate. I ate a lot from my small plate, sans chips, with my fork. Sort of when you know a queso is good. My entree was old school crispy tacos with shredded chicken and traditional fixings. No complaints! We all had margaritas. Yum. Very good and way better than they had to be for the price! My takeaway: if you're on the west end of the Island and need to eat, go here. The vibe is good, the food is tasty, and the service is efficient and friendly.

The interior decor is definitely on the eclectic side, but we were quickly seated and given bowls of warm salsa and a lime cilantro dip with our chips. The salsa is a medium spice level, and was very delicious. But the lime cilantro dip knocked it out out of the park! I loved it! For our meals, I got the taquitos and they were delicious. My boyfriend loved his tacos! We were stuffed when we were done, and thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. They have lots of parking, and a large outdoor deck area if you want to sit outside.

I always appreciate when staff is excited about specific plates. The trip was dynamite. The sauce was TOO GOOD. Like, we wanted to drink what was left. 5 stars just for that. My wife loved the oysters. The lobster roll had quite a bit of lobster in it. Super buttery and filling. Solid fries. This was a very pleasant stop on our trip.

Our lunch was absolutely delicious. Here's the rundown: 1 appetizer of ahi tuna won-ton, 2 raw oyster samplers, 2 Galveston Island Brewing blondes, 1 dirty gin martini with blue cheese stuffed olives, and one to-go bottle of Cat Five hot sauce. I am not a huge fan of tuna, but this ahi/poke style of tuna with actual umami flavor elevates a mild sushi gateway fish to something yummy. The oysters were a delight. Shucks has a color coded system in place to help you identify which oysters are which, but my tired old eyes can't seem to make their system work. I did have two favorite kinds but could not tell you what they were. No matter, they were all superior - and small like east coast/ Canadian bivalves are. Dan's beer was tasty and swillable and my martini was appropriately dirty. We got the hot sauce because you can never have enough condiments and cats were referenced in its name. Our server was friendly and efficient. Interesting to me, I was mildly making fun of their music selection and soon after it changed. Coincidence? Dunno, but I appreciated the change to Motown! Bottom line. So, so enjoyable and something we don't do too often these days. It was an expensive meal, but worth the splurge.

Not to worry, from the merch to the pastry case, to the products from local artisans, there's plenty to discover while you wait. I personally visited the morning of the 5th of July, after all of the fourth of July dwellers sobered up and stopped in for some caffeine to fuel the drive home. That being said, I waited quite a while to order, which gave me time to explore the menu...well kind of. Their menu lives on a wall and can be difficult to read from a distance. Additionally, their specials are handwritten at the til. While I'd love a digital copy of their menu for instances like these, I did just fine after exploring various Yelp menu photos. I ended up with a Sabrina on ice, avocado toast, fruity pebbles rice krispy and chocolate chunk cookie. Fair warning, everything in the pastry case looks fresh and homemade, so prepare to treat yourself. Shoutout for their emphasis on vegan and gluten-free offerings. Visually the avocado toast had me worried, but everything bagel seasoning has a way of curing all wrongs, if those "wrongs" in question are bland food. I found myself happily gobbling it down after a few initially hesitant bites. The rice krispy was fine, and I'm looking forward to warming the cookie and reporting back. While I'll go for a more traditional coffee next time, I'll certainly be back. I'm hoping for a smile, greeting, or positive energy from the staff next go around. Fingers crossed.

This morning I had to get a taste of their coffee cake (because it's one of my favorites) to go alongside my caramel macchiato which I've come to love thanks to my husband. I asked for extra caramel like I usually do but it could have used a bit more caramel. It wasn't sweet at all. The service was great! And so was the food. We also ordered two egg and cheese croissants. The egg is fried which I wasn't expecting but it actually tasted pretty good with the melted cheese. If you're looking for a coffee shop that offers a full menu of food such as burrito's, sandwiches, empanadas, and pancakes, you'll enjoy it here. There's plenty of seating to bring your laptop and get some work done. It's a popular spot so keep that in mind as the tables may all be taken.
