Must have seen an old menu....only rolled ice cream /floats ..tshirts and soda. No yogurt... can't have the ice cream due to lactose issues. One person rolling the ice cream. Two other employees chatting; back to customers . Rubbed her nose 3 times and smoothed her hair. My friend who was having ice cream elected not to order since this young lady did not wash her hands after this display. Very poor customer service.,I did try to pay for my canned soda however as we were leaving and she said "on the house". Not busy and I can see why. Addendum: if you google this it says ice cream and yogurt as does the Yelp site. Very confusing.
Why 5 stars? Because you get ice cream and a show here. --- --- --- My sister-in-law and her kids came here before and raved about it, so we made it a stop during our time in Galveston. When we initially walked in, they warned us that it would be about 30 minutes, which was shocking, but appreciated. In the meantime, we just sat at the bar, mesmerized by the process of watching them turn liquid into rolled ice cream, time after time. My concoction was vanilla ice cream with oreo, cookie dough, cherries and caramel. I have to say, I think this combo should be a part of the suggested menu, because it was, as they say in the UK, A-1. I wouldn't want to wait that long for ice cream on a regular basis, but we were in no hurry and there was no way we weren't going to wait, given how much it had been a topic of conversation with the family over the course of the week leading up to the visit. And it ended up being really great!
I stopped by here yesterday afternoon with my family for some ice cream. My father-in-law had watched a TV show and insisted that we head over to Cordray Drug for some ice cream. Honestly, I can't say that I was too excited about it at first. The inside of the shop has a counter where you order along with three anti-griddles used to make the rolled ice cream. The tables are covered with white paper and stocked with colored pencils, which both of my kids were excited about and used the whole time we were there. They also called out your name as they made your rolled ice cream so you could watch if you wanted. For my ice cream on this day, my wife and I split an affogato while my twins split one with Fruity Pebbles, strawberries, and a couple of other mix-ins. After my first bite, I have to admit that I loved the affogato. The vanilla ice cream was super rich and flavorful, and the espresso melted right into it perfectly. Honestly, I don't think I've ever had coffee ice cream that tasted that good before. My twins also loved theirs, especially all the toppings. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. While I wasn't excited about going at first, the ice cream and flavors here completely won me over.

It was less rolled but honestly it was more ice cream so that was a bonus because I always felt like I could have used just a smidge more ice cream. We got the Cookie Monster and it was tasty!
My husband and I took our daughter to Cordray's for some roller ice cream. We had only seen rolled ice cream in photos but never in person. When we first got there, it was not busy as they had just opened. The whole place was very clean, and there was white drawing paper with colored pencils on the table to doodle while waiting or while enjoying your ice cream. There was also a little peg game to play. Staff was friendly. The woman at the counter asked if it was our first time there to which we replied yes. She explained where the menus were and to grab a clipboard to choose our order. My husband went for the mint chocolate chip, and our daughter created her own which was cherry and brownie with chocolate ice cream and chocolate sauce. You can watch the staff make the ice cream as well which is interesting. It didn't take too long to make the ice cream which turned out to be extremely tasty! There isn't a whole lot of room to sit inside, and it was starting to get very busy, so my husband and kid finished up their ice cream, and we left. As we were leaving, the staff thanked us for coming even though they were super busy! This is definitely a place to try if you're in the mood for ice cream.
We watched the hgtv show restoring Galveston and had to try the Cordray drug store ice cream. This place was really done well. It's quite simple in the selections for ice cream, but everything is just amazing. Bonus: they are dog friendly on the patio and you can tell the staff actually enjoys working here!
Cute store in Galveston. Saw the story behind the history of how this place became an ice cream store. Since we are so close, we decided to make the drive. Place opened right on time. Lovely entrance stairs that kept the pharmacy concept. Once you enter staff greet you happily and show you menu options to your left to help you make your ice cream. They have plenty of good options and plenty of seating places. Indoor, outdoor, separate room. As soon as they opened place got busy pretty quick. We went for the mint chocolate chip and it was a perfect minty kick and chocolate crunch. The temperature was a perfect cold but still soft enough to enjoy. Really enjoyed this place and will be coming back for more. Plenty of street parking
This place was on our bucket list since we love watching "Restoring Galveston" with Michael & Ashley Cordray! Such a fun experience. When you walk in, the employees greet you asking if you have been there before, since we said no, they explained to get the order forms clipboard from the wall and check off what you want on your ice cream. My husband got the cinnamon toast and I got the strawberry and banana. It was fun to watch them make it. Only thing I wish that they put more than 1 slice of banana and 1 slice of strawberry but it was still good! They have a small but nice main room, then another kids room with activities for the kids, and a nice outdoor patio with tables, chairs, fans and shades. They have outdoor games like Jenga & bean bag toss to play. I was lucky enough to see owner Michael Cordray sneak in the back door patio where we were seated. He came in to grab waters and was kind enough to greet me and my husband and take a pick with me! His wife Ashley was home with babies! We will definitely return!

This place serves what they call rolled ice cream. i've never had it before, but it was fun watching them prepared and essentially they pour cream over a really cold griddle that they then move around and mix in whatever you want on it and when they scrape it up, it comes in little rolls before they put it into the cup. I got one of their specials in honor of Mardi Gras: the king cake rolled ice cream. This came with bits of king cake in it as well as a vanilla base along with some additional things. I think it's a bit pricey, but this place does make for a fun treat occasionally, and there are lots of options and combos of what you could put into your ice cream. It's not a very large place, but there's plenty of places to sit both at tables and at the countertop while you watch them roll the ice cream. read more

The ice cream was fantastic and the employees are so welcoming. We sat on the back patio with our pup and it was well shaded with yard games. Only thing that would make it better would be some music. Great experience! read more

Yes, I heard about this yummy place from watching the home improvement show "restoring Galveston", but I keep coming back (4th time now) because of the yummy and unique "rolled" ice cream, the fabulous restored building and the extremely nice staff. Michael Cordray comes in often, he's sooo pleasant and stops to say hi to everyone. He always ends his visits with "I appreciate you!l" I only gave it 4 stars (wish I could give 4.5 but the app doesn't allow it) because of the wait times when it is busy. Today we waited over 30 minutes. But it was cool inside, there were games to play and it was cool watching the show. Yes I'll continue to come back. Thank you for a pleasant experience! read more

May 3, 2033 Came in to try rolled ice cream for the first time, it did not disappoint. I thought on a Wednesday afternoon it would be slow traffic; people at work, right? wrong! Cute stuff on the walls regarding the family history of the Cordray family. This is some of the best ice cream I have ever had. Fresh heavy cream frozen and a lot of other fresh ingredients. Service was great, very clear on how to order. Seating is only a little limited, just come at a non busy hour. This was a great stop on our vacation!! Oh and make sure to get the affogato and the waffle cone!!! read more
We saw Cordray Drug Store on the Restoring Galveston show and wanted to try it out. It was pretty busy over Memorial Day weekend and took a bit to get the ice cream. But that was expected for "rolled-to-order" ice cream. The place was really nice and had a nice back patio that felt comfortable even in the summer heat. The ice cream was good, but I prefer regular scooped ice cream. It tasted a bit "icy" vs creamy. But its a fun concept (probably especially for kids), albeit a bit gimmicky. read more

Have been wanting to try this place since watching it being renovated on Restoring Galveston. We were greeted when we arrived and told how to order. We found a table, made our selections and went up to the counter to pay. They called out each of our names as they were making our desserts. It was fun to watch and fun to eat. read more
Really enjoyed this fun stop for some rolled ice cream! It was really hot and humid (when is it not in Galveston?) so it was the perfect time for some ice cream. You write your order by checking the boxes of what you want on the mini clipboard paper. Turn in your order and pay. Then wait for them to call your name when they are making your order. Lots of videos and pictures being taken and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. They pour the cream mixture into the frozen cold plate and chop up any mix-in's so everything is smooth and will roll up. They will serve with whipped cream and a waffle cone triangle. You can choose a waffle bowl as an extra choice. There are some games like Connect 4 and a huge roll of drawing paper to entertain the young and the young at heart. The colored pencils were all stubby. It would be fun and practical if they installed an old fashioned pencil sharpener in there. The texture of the rolled ice cream is so smooth and creamy and VERY cold, which makes it the perfect taste treat! LOVED it!!! Fun experience!! read more

After visiting Cordray Drug Store for the first time, I have craved their brownie sundae on multiple occasions! It was so good, and definitely worth the price point. I'd go as far to say that one sundae could easily feed 2 people. The overall concept of the shop was so cute, I really like how they make you feel like a prescriber when writing down your order on their custom note pads. A fun place to come as they also have butcher paper on each table that you can scribble and draw on. Service was also great and they do give a UTMB student discount. Definitely come out to support this small business! read more

A cool idea and very aesthetically pleasing! The staff is super welcoming and the shop is very clean. You walk in and they hav e clipboards for you to select your ice cream toppings, flavor, etc. I had vanilla with cookie dough and Oreo. It was good. However the toppings are crumbled up small (so they can roll it) and you lose some flavor. read more
Super friendly staff and they take care to make sure everyone's ice cream looks great. And it tastes great too. I got chocolate with Oreos mixed in and chocolate chips on top. Smooth and creamy and amazingly it didn't melt before I finished. I hear they get very busy but we were lucky and walked right in and had no wait. Probably a good idea to try to go right when they open for the best chance of a smaller crowd. A must try! read more

This place is my BFF!!! In ice cream shop terminology this means Brain Freeze Forever!! I stopped by Cordray Drug Store today for some rumored delicious ice cream. I actually wasn't prepared for what was in l store. Instead of traditional ice cream, Cordray creates rolled ice cream. Up until now I've never tried rolled ice cream. So I went in cautiously. I ordered a Cookie Monster which of course turned my tongue blue -- kind of like the hot chip challenge. The ice cream itself was so good. I accidentally ate it quicker than I should have. This meant that I'd get a brain freeze, followed by some choice words in my head -- then once there was peace again, I'd start the cycle again. The line wasn't too bad, but even if it was...the finished product is worth it. I also got to meet Michael and Ashley at the shop which was really cool! So...if you need a break from the Galveston heat, go to Cordray's!!! Tell them Large Marge sencha!!! Highly recommend this place!!! read more

Adorable place! Such a unique experience. The ice cream is delicious but made even better by the fun way they roll it and what they can smush in and top it with. Fun atmosphere, fun food and fun folks. This shop is adorable and a perfect spot for the family to stop on a hot day. Employees were friendly and you could tell they enjoyed showing us how the ice cream was rolled. The kiddos loved it. read more

Watching Ashley and Michael's show was our initial draw to visiting Galveston Island, and I heard about Cordray Drug by watching the episode about it. Our experience there certainly did not disappoint, and it was so much fun watching our ice cream order being made, rolled, and then enjoying the eating of its deliciousness. We loved it all the way around. And probably will have to return for a second helping before we leave the island next week. Thanks to all the staff and how friendly they were and how they were willing to engage in conversation with us. Great experience! read more
