I was SO EXCITED TO FIND OUT Paris Baguette was coming to our area. Although the location doesn't feel particularly special Paris Baguette IS unique! With homemade pastries, cakes and delectable treats made fresh each day, you cannot go wrong with anything purchased here. I cannot brag more about this place. I'm just hoping for more locations to come in the Kansas City area.

Oh my goodness, what a treat! My husband and I signed up for the app which basically gave us each a bogo. I got the iced latte with Nutella and strawberry croissant. He got the croissant donut and the chocolate supreme croissant. All were excellent but the star was the croissant donut. It's filled with a gentle cream. It's flaky, and buttery, and flavorful, and I need more of them in my life.

Love,.love, love the French Baquette, almond pastry, and sandwiches are my favorites! Korean ice coffee also a highlight!

This place has issues. Let's start with the customer service. Zilch. Myself and another lady stood at the counter for 4-5 minutes with our food while the staff pretended we weren't there. Two more customers joined us. When staff did get to us, she was short with us. Was she swamped? Yes. I'd be annoyed too. Management needs to step up and handle this. The tables and chairs were filthy. There wasn't one clean table available. I ordered the chicken Caesar baguette sandwich. I asked for it heated. Staff left it in too long and I got a very dried out and burnt $12 sandwich.

This was my first visit to this place and there is a lot going on, I first walked up to the front counter like one does. There was no one at the counter so after standing there for a minute or so I followed the lead of another customer that had come in. Apparently you are supposed to go to the different cabinets and use the tongs by the front door to grab what you want. I ended up getting a Salted Caramel roll of some type an a Salted Caramel Iced Latte. The drink and the food was good, do wish there was some signage on what you do.

I was excited to see a location of this out here in Overland Park. The pastries, while good, are quite pricey for the size. I saw some pastries top $7. Some of the slices of cakes/tarts in the front display case were almost $9. There's a good variety of pastry as well as drinks. I liked the curry croquette ($4.50). There is plenty of seating which makes this a nice place for a date or catch-up. Just comparing prices for some of the pastries, Paris Baguette seemed cheaper in California and New York, which is surprising. I think I'd come back if someone wanted to, but this wouldn't be as much of my go-to as 85 Degrees or Hamu Bakery due to the value.

The pink macaron was absolutely amazing!!! So delicious and yum yum !!!! And I got some birthday cake for my fiancé's birthday. He loved it!

    Fruit Pastry - Delicious!

I liked the extensive menu, the delicious pastry and the friendly, efficient service at this new bakery/cafe during my opening day takeout visit. My fruit pastry ($5.05) was nicely sized, flaky, creamy and delicious, but not an especially good value. The interior was clean and new with a nice dining area. I also noticed a small patio outside, which was being used as an employee break area. The menu included cakes, cake slices, pastries, mochi donuts, donuts, savory pastries, roll cakes, breads, breakfast sandwiches, salads, sandwiches, wraps, hot beverages, iced beverages and grab & go items. Make sure to grab a tray and pinchers on the right when you enter since you serve yourself from the display cases. Very nice!

I have eaten here in NYC so was excited to see them opening store fronts in KC area. Great for a coffee and sweet treat. They offer some lunch items, mostly sandwiches. They will warm up some for you. Very pleasant staff, but it's mostly self serve and then pay at the register. Clean and bright location.

Finally checked out Paris Baguette, by the Oak Park Mall. It's attached to the same building as the IHOP. It is a similar concept to 85 C Bakery. You walk in and pick up a tray and tongs to pick out your goodies both savory and sweet. They all looked so good. I picked a pepperoni pizza type pastry and 2 filled pastries with fruit on top. The pizza and cheese pastry was okay. Nothing special. The sweeter choices were delicious. I also ordered a latte and it was okay. I would go back to try other pastry options, and like the concept. For the most point the staff was nice, had to ask several questions. And WiFi information.

But in the mood for a festive coffee and a sweet treat while holiday shopping. They have a wide variety of donuts, pastries, cakes, and wrap, and go items. My chocolate croissant was flaky and had bits of chocolate in it, good balance of battery and sweet. My next trip I will get some of the savory items and maybe a cold coffee.

I was so excited to see this little bakery open up in Overland Park! The location is clean and bright, and the staff is welcoming and friendly. There is plenty of seating which makes it a great place to stop and work or catch up with someone. I liked the selection of pastries, including the seasonal halloween and fall items. It is a little pricey, as others have mentioned, however, I do think it's in the same price range of similar bakeries in the area. The 'usual' items are all there, but I did notice some items that I haven't found elsewhere, like the cronuts, so that makes it worth the stop for me.

Fabulous tuna salad sandwich, fruit tart & almond pastry

Such a fun place! Was happy to see they had some slightly healthier options too, like sandwiches (the tuna salad sandwich was wonderful- low on mayo which I appreciated,) & salads, and not just cakes & pastries. Everything was absolutely delicious. We went at about 3:00 in the afternoon & the pastry cases were still pretty full and they were restocking more as we walked around and chose our items. Very nice, welcoming staff. Not a large place, so you may prefer to grab & go. Wish the water was self serve. Napkins are oddly tiny & not absorbent. Huge drink menu. My daughter loved her Iced Mocha. Will definitely be back to try more yummies!

To step through its threshold is to surrender to the siren song of warmth that curls from the oven like a whispered secret. I have made it my pilgrimage to traverse the entirety of their menu, a culinary odyssey that has yielded no false steps, only a symphony of consistency that borders on the miraculous. Each offering, from the flaky, golden architecture of their pastries to the robust, honest comfort of their savory fare, is a testament to the artisan's hand. Here, affordability is not a sacrifice of quality but a generous invitation, a rare confluence where the exquisite meets the accessible. There is a certain magic in the air at McLain's, a sweetness that feels woven into the very fabric of the establishment. It is a place that understands the language of comfort, speaking it fluently in the dialect of a perfect crust or the rich, dark notes of a expertly pulled espresso. It is perhaps no surprise that such a bastion of authentic delight has garnered a reputation that extends far beyond our local borders; if the standard of excellence is high enough to grace the plate of Taylor Swift, then surely, it is more than enough for us, the grateful residents who claim this treasure as our own. Yet, beyond the flour-dusted counters and the glowing glass cases, my deepest admiration is reserved for their spirit. In a world that often measures worth in cold, transactional metrics, McLain's chooses to honor those who pour themselves into the future of our community. As a teacher, I feel that recognition in the small gestures, the welcoming nods, and the genuine appreciation they extend to educators. It is a profound kindness, a recognition that the work of shaping minds requires nourishment, both intellectual and literal. They understand that a classroom is a marathon, and they act as the essential pit stop, providing the fuel that keeps the light of inquiry burning bright. To dine at McLain's is to participate in a ritual of belonging. It is a place where the passage of time is marked not by the ticking of a clock, but by the turning of the oven trays. It is a reliable heartbeat in the neighborhood, steadfast and true, offering a reprieve from the clamor of the outside world. Whether one seeks a quiet moment of reflection over a cup of coffee or a celebratory feast that honors the simple, profound joy of eating well, McLain's remains an unrivaled steward of taste. It is not merely a bakery; it is the living, breathing soul of Waldo, a place where every bite serves as a reminder that some things in this life are exactly as good as they ought to be.

For the first time ever I used McLain's for catering and I'm officially bumping my review from 4 to…read more5 stars because honestly they did such a spectacular job at such a reasonable price I'm already wishing I had another excuse to order from them again! A few months ago my sister and I hosted a baby shower for our other sister and after looking around an options we decided to go with McLains. It was a smaller group, and we were doing a brunch theme, and our sister LOVES sweets. That paired with our desire to support local, and our shared love of McLains, this was just the most obvious choice. We ended up ordering a cake and first of all I have to say their cake flavor choices are insane - I think we settled on a chocolate cake with peanut butter filling (YUM), but I don't think you can go wrong here. We also ordered one of their pre-set pastry bundles for pick up and honestly everything was wonderful. I think I placed the order about a week out and it was ready when I came to pick it up. What pushed this experience into five star category for me? Just the friendliness of the staff, the serving tools they send you home with, and how thoughtful everyone was. The food was also really just exactly what we needed and it was so good there were hardly any leftovers, I think the kids cleared us out by lunch! At any rate, if you're on the hunt for a great spot to support for your next brunch event consider McLains - they won't let you down!
