I absolutely loved this place! I went on a whim to try it out spontaneously, and it turned out to be such a fun and exciting dining experience. The whole concept is great, and the sushi was incredibly fresh. The Full Experience: It's a very interactive setup where the sushi chefs are in the center making the rolls right in front of you and placing them directly onto the revolving belt. The servers were fantastic--they explained the whole process and let me know I could order anything directly with the chefs or request specific items from the kitchen if I didn't see them on the belt. The Pricing: Each plate is priced differently depending on the item, which makes it easy to track: * Blue Plates: $3.50 * Yellow Plates: $3.75 * Purple Plates: $4.75 Pro tip: Order specific dishes (like the Calamari or certain sushi rolls) to be placed on the "sushi belt." This way, you don't have to pay for a full-sized entrée if you only want a smaller portion. The plates usually come with 2-3 pieces, which is perfect for sampling! The Food: Everything I tried was amazing, but my top favorites were the Baked Mussels, Calamari, and the Eel Roll. One thing to keep in mind: I made the mistake of ordering a roll directly with the sushi chefs, but forgot to specify that I wanted it for the sushi belt/small plate. Because of that, they made me a full order of the Eel Roll (6 pieces). It was delicious, but definitely more than the small 2-3 piece portion I was expecting! I tried several other plates as well (check out my photos!) and loved every single one of them. Verdict: This is a perfect spot for a solo lunch or a night out with a group. I will definitely be coming back with friends next time!

Service and experience were both fine, the sushi itself was just not it--based off that alone, I doubt I'll be returning. If you're into American sushi, cooked sushi--this will be your place. They had limited sushi options. Vegetable roll, shrimp, salmon and tuna and yellowtail nigiri, tuna sashimi, dumplings, crab Rangoon, a crab salad. The same thing, over and over and over again. Sushi rolls aren't cut evenly, sashimi was thin, it was just very boring sushi. You can order off the menu if you'd like for full rolls. I had tuna sashimi, yellowtail nigiri, a veg/crab roll and a salmon nigiri. The bill came to 19.74 for 4 plates. 9 pieces of sushi total.

Reasonable price. Most plates are yellow. Sashimi was purple.

Stopped by Umami Revolving Sushi and really enjoyed it. The conveyor setup makes it a great place to try rolls you might not normally order without committing to a full plate. Everything came out fast, and the two chefs behind the counter were clearly on top of it. There was a solid variety of options going by, so it was easy to sample a mix of classic and more creative rolls. Prices felt reasonable for the quality and experience, especially if you like trying a little bit of everything. Definitely a fun, low-pressure way to enjoy sushi and switch things up from the usual order. Would go back.

Another revolving sushi bar. Haven't been to Kura in the city, which is a chain. This one is shared with a boba shop next door. Wasn't too busy when we went - sat immediately. Basically self serve - you just grab sushi plates off the belt when it comes, but you also ask for specific items on their menu to be made custom for you. Different plates for different prices. Overall, fair sushi quality. Wasn't the best I've ever had but for a revolving sushi bar it met my expectations. Good for casual dinner option.

So much fun to sit around the bar and watch all the tasty sushi on the conveyor belt go by. Price is by the color of the plate. Number of pieces vary from 2-3 per plate. A lot of selections to pick from. It is a family owners restaurant. All the staff are attentive and friendly. I suggest they add more appetizers dishes on the conveyor belt. like a small portion of fried rice, noodles, and other finger food items. Will be back

Such a fun and amazing restaurant! The service is amazing and I love the ambiance inside. Their portions are a lot bigger than some of the other revolving sushi places I've been to before. All the rolls I tried were absolutely amazing!! Can't wait to come back, highly recommend.

Service is very prompt and friendly. They have sushi belt and you can order from the menu. The price by the plate color is clearly written in the counter. Friendly sushi chef and u can order if u don't see in the belt. While we were there they have special promotions 7 plates then one plate is free. The resturant is only open for six days so very new and clean. You can get bubbles teas and other special soft drinks. The bar doesn't look like all set up yet. I ordered green teas, very tasty and promptly filling us up.

I went to Umami for lunch on a weekday. The revolving sushi bar was about a half full when I was there, I feel like it's probably busier at night or on the weekend. There wasn't a ton of variation compared to other revolving sushi bars I've been too. Everything was pretty good but there was nothing that that really stood out to me. I feel like everything was kind of overpriced for what you were getting. Maybe it was just kind of basic sushi since it wasn't full for the lunch crowd and they didn't want things to go to waste which is understandable. We didn't order off of the menu so I don't have any idea what was on there but I would like to come back sometime to try some more things off the sushi bar as well as the menu. They had different drinks and bobas as well so that's a nice addition to what you can get here. Everyone working there asked us multiple times if we needed anything and if we were enjoying the food which was really nice. I liked the relaxed atmosphere as well.

I've been to the other revolving sushi place in Kansas City that has a train so when this opened up near my house in Overland Park, I was very excited. The bar with the revolving sushi conveyor belt is very large in an L shape. Most people here were coming in for the revolving sushi experience, so sometimes there could be a wait. The selection of sushi was rather wide and they kept refilling frequently. I would have liked to see more Nigiri type options but a lot of of them were cooked, tempura, appetizers etc. also I'm taking a star off because the sushi's are not covered. In this day of a lot of airborne sickness and flu etc., I just wish there would be a clear plastic lid on these plates. Everyone is sitting on high barstools where you are above the level of the sushi conveyor belt so it's easy to sneeze, cough or even when just talking out loud for the sushi plates to get contaminated. I'll definitely go back because the food tasted good

This is our new favorite sushi place in Overland Park. Fast, great price, and fish is great, what more can you want?

She also got the chocolate Hong Kong waffle with ice cream and enjoyed it. I would have liked to try some of their food, but wasn't able to during this visit (through no fault of Tsaocaa). The plushies and other merch they had was very cute and I'll very likely buy something the next time I visit. The decor was also lovely, with some very happy plants in the windows. The staff were also friendly and gave me no reason to doubt their skills. My only complaint is that the seating was just shy of being comfortable. My friend said the bench seating was a bit hard, and while the chair I sat in was soft, the arm rests made it a little too narrow for me (I'm plus size and have chronic pain, so finding truly comfortable seating can be a challenge at most places. As a note, anyone larger than a women's 3X probably wouldn't be able to comfortably sit in the chairs at all and would need to sit on the bench). Overall it was a pleasant experience, and I plan to go again!

Their prices are also a lot more reasonable compared to most boba shops in the area. Their milk tea is delicious and their blended drinks are so refreshing. I've tried everything on the menu and my favorites are: 1. Mint To Be -- a super tasty matcha milk tea with refreshing mint flavor. It's great with brown sugar boba. 2. Ari Godness -- a classic brown sugar boba milk (it doesn't have tea, so no caffeine) with delicious flan and boba. I love the textures of both toppings. 3. Peach On Da Beach -- amazingly rich and flavorful peach tea with peach chunks. So good on a hot day. 4. Frozen Sunrise -- refreshing sweet and tangy smoothie that goes really well with fruity popping boba. 5. I'm Panda Frappe -- incredible drink blended with oreo that is great for a chocolate craving. Brown sugar boba is good in this too, but not necessary. Honorable mentions are the Oh My Taro, Hokkaido milk tea, and Deep Blue Sea!! Seriously the best boba place around. I feel at home there!

It takes up most of the store and is easily bigger than the back counter area. Seemed a little out of place, but who am I to judge, i'm more mentioning it as it almost gave me pause. Wanting an after dinner treat I walked the few miles here and sitting in a strip mall I was expecting more cafe vibes rather than chuck e cheese. Granted there weren't any kids here, the rest of the decor was pretty appropriate to a boba cafe. Menu was large, clear. Prices were affordable (aside from the disproportionately high tax rate). Service was friendly and quick. Serving sizes were large, weren't overloaded with ice and foams. I was hoping to get offerings on sweetness levels as Boba places are notoriously sweet or even caffeine offering levels. I was hoping for the hokaido sugar milk tea, but went with the milk tea with the flan and boba which was a nice change of getting just boba added. I'll definitely be returning as it's the only boba place in walking distance.
