Moldy Berries! I was so excited to try the raspberry fruit bite when I got it home. Much to my dismay, when i picked off one of the raspberries to pop it in my mouth, it was all moldy on the bottom. Same thing with the other berries too. I went on the Paris Baguette website and let them know what happened and...nothing. I have to Paris Baguette twice before today. I find their products ok but nothing special. My wife likes their cakes so I stopped in to buy a piece. I made my choice and was waiting for someone to take the order. There were four people behind the counter. One was restocking the case. Two were chatting to each other and one was ringing up a customer. I was waiting 4 or 5 minutes and no one asked to help me. When the employee was finished ringing up the previous customer she ignored me. As I was continuing to wait, another customer approached the case and stood next to me. She was there maybe 10 seconds when the employee who was ignoring me approached her, and after looking at me directly, and asked to help her. There is no excuse to be so rude to a customer for just waiting to place an order. I left and will not return. There are other bakeries in the area that offer better quality and much better customer service. read more

Was excited when we found out this was opening nearby. But unfortunately each visits have left very little to be desired. I've been here a handful of times already hoping each time would be better than the previous visit. It just seems to get worse each time. I have a friend whose little sister worked there since grand opening. She told us how they were under trained and weren't prepared when they first opened. So I gave them the benefit of the doubt and hoped that they would improve. Not only have they not improved on service, they've seemingly gotten worse. This past visit, I bought a Pastéis de Nata and asked for it to be warmed up. The worker looked confused and asked his coworker if they can help warm it up. The other worker said they don't recommend it and so they didn't give me a choice to warm it up. I've had my share of egg tarts (HK style, Macau/Portugese) in life and I can confidently say that it is 100% better when it is warm. The Pastéis de Nata looked like they've been sitting out for hours if not days. Since I wasn't given a choice, I decided to give it a chance (since the worker recommended against warming it up). It tasted like plastic. The crust was hard af. My daughter actually spit it out because the crust was so disgustingly tough. Anyway, now I'm home and I warmed it up in my toaster oven (340° for 2 minutes) and it is actually edible now. I have been waiting for this place to open! A nostalgic store if you've lived in SoCal. Surprised to see so many people not knowing this is a South Korean bakery chain! It's definitely not french french, but it's the closest thing you'll get in the area. My favorite items are their palmier, plain croissants, and the cheese & ham croissants. Their best sandwich in my opinion is the chicken caeser on baguette. Service can be a little chaotic if it's rush hour (and they should reconsider their boxing strategies. Paris Baguette is a super famous Korean bakery café chain (a lot like Tous le Jours) that just opened up its first couple locations in Washington. The thing about cafes in Korea is that they are designed as a place to study, chat, and generally just chill. This Paris Baguette does a good job to replicate that sort of ambience, with a fair amount of seating, refreshing interior design, and low noise level. If you're looking for a spot to relax, or a place to continue a conversation after a meal, this location would be a great choice. The glass cases look very beautiful with their large variety of pastries on display. There are many sweet and savory offerings but I would say that, so far, I'm more impressed by their savory choices. It seems to me that mostly everything they offer probably tastes better warmed up, especially the savory stuff. As a tip, I'd suggest either toasting your pastries and breads at home or asking the staff to warm it up for you if you plan to eat there. I think the style of their breads and pastries are different if you're used to places like 85 Bakery. Most 85 Bakery breads are pillowy soft whereas Paris Baguette has more body and chew to their bread. If that's not for you, I'd recommend going for a toasted, flaky pastry. On my first couple trips, I tried the Ham and Cheese Baguette, Chocolate Cream Bread, Jumbo Twisted Donut, Curry Croquette, and a Pepperoni Pizzetta. The most surprisingly delicious items for me were the Ham and Cheese Baguette and the Pepperoni Pizzetta, both toasted. The sandwich was a simple ham and swiss with English mustard on a baguette, but the first bite was instant happiness. The baguette was chewy but somehow fluffy, in a way. Baguettes in my past have given the impression of being tough and tiring to chew, but this one was perfect. The spongy texture also really soaked in the flavors of the sandwich. My initial impression was that it tasted really fresh and definitely raised my expectations for what a refrigerated café sandwich could be. For $12, I honestly was hesitant at first but now I'm thinking I'd rather have this $12 sandwich than a $16 made-to-order sandwich somewhere else. Let them warm it up for you! The Chocolate Cream Bread and Jumbo Twisted Donut were nostalgic picks for my girlfriend. The Chocolate Cream Bread is a simple bun with a bit of chocolate cream in the middle, the cream is more of a thick custard texture than whipped cream. The cream was yummy so we wished it had more. The bun was not as soft as I thought it would be, more of a bready texture, but it was still tasty. My girlfriend expected the Jumbo Twisted Donut to taste like the ones in Korea (more glutinous texture) but she said they're more American donut style. It has a homemade flavor to it. I preferred this warmed up at home, though it still had more chew to it than you'd get from your typical donut. The Curry Croquette was standard. The texture inside is potato-y and dry. I wish it was more saucy and spiced because the flavor is pretty mild and there's no meat in it. It was not bad, though. Next time, I'll try eating it with tonkatsu sauce. It was still crispy even before toasting, making this one of the better curry croquettes I've had from a bakery. The Pepperoni Pizzetta might be my favorite so far. First of all, you need to warm this up. I haven't tried it cold but I know it tastes infinitely better toasted. It's a flaky pastry that is topped with tomato sauce, mozzarella, and lots of pepperonis. Biting into all those crispy layers is really satisfying, and the savory flavors of the tomato sauce and pepperoni balance well with the butteriness of the crust. This and the sandwich are what make me think that Paris Baguette's savory options are the way to go. They also sell things like packaged cakes and jams, which look like they'd make nice, easy gifts. They seem to be good with replenishing their stock throughout the day. The interior is fun, kind of a classic style. The service was quick and polite, even with a moderate line. They offered to warm up my sandwich and packaged everything else in a bag, no bag fee. Felt like a smooth operation behind the counter. I had no trouble finding a clean, open table but I did see the table next to me was covered in crumbs from the previous people. During my time there, it didn't get cleaned off but there were plenty of other tables to choose from. I can see this being a problem during busier times, though. I was afraid this place would not live up to my expectations of the locations in Korea but it instead created its own, separate identity in my mind. A pretty new spot in town and I'm already very obsessed. You come in, grab a tray, fill it up with pastries, then check out. My absolute favorite is the King Cream Donut. It's soft and has the right amount of sweet, also very generous with the custard filling. Their savory menu is also very good and some unique ones you don't really see. Both croquettes (crab meat & curry) are delicious. Honestly, based on my experience, I've never had anything bad from here. The place is clean. Staff is great. The food is yummy, but the handling and pick your food with parchment paper vs tongs is sad. It's a waste and not eco friendly. You also run the risk of touching the other goods in the case without the use of tongs. I believe 85c has tongs or gloves you can use. This is probably one of those social media interests. I've been waiting for this place to open up, anything that lists baguette and Paris in the same title, usually works for me. Ah well...I'm going to be very fair with this one, as I usually am with my reviews. Here's what worked: 1. The plain croissants were good, especially the small type that you can buy in a bag. 2. The strawberry croissant, was good, flavorful also according to my husband. Here's what didn't work: 1. The mochi donuts. Holy moly, this is what happens when your oil that you're using isn't up to the heat that it should be. Touching the donuts left a huge amount of grease on your fingers, hands, whatever came in contact. Also, huge note, and to tell you exactly how greasy these were, we actually squeezed these mochis and oil dripped out.Couldn't eat these at all. We picked the lemon, the plain, and the lemon. We gave up on these. 2. The jumbo twisted donut, another miss. So tough and chewy, hard to eat, not impressed. 3. The chocolate croissants were not the best (pain au chocolat), you shouldn't call them chocolate when you have to look for the chocolate. 4. The caprese baguette: the bread was so darn unflavorful and plain, plain, plain. As a matter of fact, the entire sandwich was plain, dull and no amount of seasoning could save this. Caprese is one of my favorites and this was a disappointment indeed. And finally, checking out. Ok well not really checking out but I have a tray of items and I'm asked if I would like a bag. Um...yes? But here's a suggestion, put these items in a box at least. The strawberry croissant needed to be handled a bit delicately since it had cream in it. The person who put ours in a bag, stacked items on top of these. A bag does not work for a lot of these items. I think if people are buying numerous items, boxing might be a better alternative. Last item: it was very expensive. Look, I don't mind spending money for a good product but when I get this, oh no no no. I'm hoping that maybe it was the maidenship voyage and I'm also hoping that this place gets up to speed and soon. I'm hesitant to return here, honestly, not impressed.
