Decided to grab something sweet after dinner down the street. I'm so happy Parish Parlor opened up so close to home. It is a walkable distance for me. I can't eat much dairy but when I do, it's usually ice cream. I am a plain jane kinda girl so I like creole cream cheese or cookies n cream. However, this time I went for the toasted coconut and it was GREAT! I'm not a big fan of things with shredded coconut in it so I was super excited when this was super smooth with ribbons of chocolate as well. I also had some of the cookies and cream and I can't wait to go back from a milkshake! They also have some vegan flavors too which would be great in my situation. Ice cream on the first day of fall is always the best feeling * * * New ice cream pop up in NOLA and I'm absolutely loving it! It's very French inspired inside and the flavors are all in house made. I had the coffee ice cream made from the actual grounded coffee beans from MOJO's coffee house right down the magazine. I also highly recommend blackberry cheesecake flavor!! Us LGD residents have been waiting for a solid ice cream place! The interior is cute and I noticed a back patio as well. The music is pretty loud but sets a nice Parisian tone. I loved the mild flavor of the seasonal pumpkin spice waffle cone; it paired well with my very flavorful salted caramel ice cream. It was tasty but I did notice some inconsistencies in the texture. Some bites were more icy than others. I also sampled the PB&J which apparently was vegan and I could tell since it wasn't as creamy. I don't recall seeing a vegan label so I think it'd be nice for customers to know ahead of time which ones are vegan because it affects the texture. My friend sampled the creole cream cheese and ended up choosing a different flavor because he felt the flavor was "straight cream cheese." My other friend enjoyed his Hurricane sorbet, certainly a unique flavor option among all the ice cream places in town! Bottom line: I don't think I'll give up my beloved Creole Creamery, but when the craving hits and I don't feel like driving uptown, Parish Parlor will do the trick! Stopped by to get some ice cream with friends and tried a few samples of the different ice cream flavors. Asked for a less sweet option because the flavors were a bit too sweet for my taste. Instead of attempting to recommend an alternative ice cream option, the staff member rudely stated that, "All ice cream is sweet, made with the same amount of sugar, and wouldn't be ice cream if it wasn't OVERLY sweet." I would say however that after leaving the shop, my friends mentioned that it was still too sweet to consume and that says a lot when they drink milk tea almost every week. The manners of the staff came off as unfriendly and impatient, not allowing me and my friends to take their time making their decisions for toppings. Which is upsetting as we were the only customers there. While the ice cream was somewhat enjoyable on this hot 90 degree day, what really killed the experience is how the staff treated us walking in. read more

Got the peppermint bark and espresso brownie. The girlfriend got the mint chocolate chip and espresso brownie. The mint chocolate chip is amazing since it's natural flavorings and you can definitely taste the mint. There's earlier review about how bad the mint chocolate chip being horrible. Ignore them. Stop what you are doing and go to Parish Parlor for a hug in a cup! We stopped in for a simple hot cocoa and ended up getting one of the most delicious beverages we have EVER had! They make them to order and they are more like a drinking chocolate that has love as the main ingredient. Their ice cream is amazing too, and the staff is always so kind and patient-(especially with the people that ask for 25 samples!) Parish Parlor is my favorite ice cream place in Nola. All of their flavors are homemade and unique. My personal favorite is blackberry cheesecake but it's seasonal so you have to wait till spring. There is a patio outside so if you have a furry friend, you can sit outside with them and enjoy your ice cream. There is street parking right outside all along the street. I've never had trouble finding a close spot. Love this place! read more

I LOVED the flavors my friends and I tried, the double chocolate, toasted coconut and salted caramel, especially. I had half a scoop of the mint chocolate chip and while it was very tasty, it was wild! It was like actual fresh mint leaf flavor, and not the usual "green" mint that ice cream has - it was very tasty but I was shocked at first because my brain was not expecting fresh-crushed-in-a-mojito-mint flavor, at all. Honestly this is a very tough split. The ice cream here is incredible with a good selection of flavors and the shop is well-kept and clean. However...the customer service is VERY lacking. I do write this based on multiple experiences here that every time I have visited, I have felt that the employees are annoyed I am there. I have always walked in knowing what I was getting or looking for a few seconds and choosing but every time I am met with scowls and mutterings. WOW!! Is exactly what I exclaimed in the shop when I tasted the first sip my chocolate malt. So delicious!! They make it with little bits of chocolate mixed in. So good. My wife had the cookies and cream which was fantastic. I tried several of the other flavors which were very fun as well. This place is legit!
