Combination sandwich is the way to go!

Sandwiches are so bomb! They are at an affordable price and veggies are always FRESH! They have fresh bread all day, every DAY!!!

Low key spot that I've been coming to for 3 consecutive days! Their Banh Mi are so delicious!! The best part about it is that they are only $3.50!!! There is a lady that works there for 9 years and she is the sweetest person ever. They have Fruit smoothies, different juices, fresh or canned juice, different meats in sandwiches, variety of croissants, and cakes! This spot I would never even looked without word by mouth! I'm now a client!

I've been coming here for almost 12 years. They make fresh french bread in-house and it's made daily. For $1.00 you can get 5 small rolls or 3 big ones. It's the same french bread you eat with your banh mi (vietnamese sandwich). If you like vietnamese sandwiches, they have a deal where you can buy 5 and you get one free. Make sure though when you're taking the sandwiches to go, ask them to put the veggies on the side. There are four other things that I love from this eatery: pate Chaud, almond croissants, vanilla cream puffs & fresh sugar cane juice. It's a nice little hidden gem next in the SW part of chinatown.

A much, much, much smaller location compared to the one on Bellaire (Yes, I emphasized on "small" because it's THAT much smaller) and they don't sell as many pastries, or desserts as the other location. However, I frequent this location for mainly for the purpose of getting the BBQ pork banh mi (Vietnamese sandwich). Just as the BBQ pork banh mi at the Bellaire location is awesome, his location offers the same awesomeness but at a slightly higher price ($3.50 vs $3.00). Why? I'm not so sure, but since this place is a lot closer to me, I'm willing to pay that extra $0.50 for the convenience and the time saving. I also get their egg rolls which is also being sold at a slightly higher price ($0.75 vs. $0.50). But I think the higher price tag is justified because the size of the egg roll is bigger than the other location. The sugar cane juice = so good. You should try it if you've never had sugar cane juice. If you like sweet stuff, you'll love it!

Being a native Haitian I know all too well about sugar canes. I grew up on those bad boys. I have fond memories of my dad carefully peeling off the bark and cutting up the sugar canes in child friendly bite size pieces. Sooooo when I heard that this place serve fresh sugar cane juice, my mouth instantly watered. I ordered a small just in case I wouldn't be a fan...and boy were my instincts correct! Initially it tasted salty, as if they didn't cut off the bark of the sugar cane and juiced the cane WITH the bark. After the initial shock of the salty flavor, the after taste resembles sweet sugar canes. Rather disappointing, so much so, I couldn't finish the juice. Sad face

The pistachio latte was not overpowering at all and you could definitely taste the nuttyness! Not overly sweet which is perfect for me! The pistachio mousse was very thick and rich. My party of friends all enjoyed sampling them both. Our group also tried their Mufawaar medium roast coffee with cardamom & cream (not shown) per the cashier's recommendation. We really did appreciate his rundown of the menu. However, the iced Mufawaar was VERY watery much to our disappointment. Very much everyone in my group's least favorite. The lotus milkcake (not shown) was delicious Interior I will say I was impressed at how big the space was. Very clean, ideal for some work / study. Beautiful patio outside if this Texas heat wasn't so terrible! Overall I have to give it a 4.2~/5. I think their cake selection is great along with their pistachio featured items

The vibes reflect their culture well and I'm here for it. They have a bunch of pastries and a wide range of coffees to choose from. I tried the rose Adeni chai. I don't know about the rose part of it. It was basically the a cold foam part of it but I don't feel like the flavor tasted like rose or anything, just had the pink color. The Adeni chai did taste authentic. I also tried the Turkish coffee and that was strong and bold. I don't feel like the taste was too strong for me though, it was easy to drink. I also liked the presentation of the coffee. They put it in a traditional coffee pot. If you like strong coffee then this is for you. I tried the meat samosa and it was crispy and the inside was a mix of onions and minced meat. It had a nice texture for me but the inside wasn't to my flavor of taste. That's just in my opinion because I don't like onions. I then tried the Knafeh cheesecake. The Knafeh wasn't as crunchy as I thought it would be but the cheesecake portion was just like an original cheesecake, tangy and rich. I enjoyed the cheesecake. I guess I was expecting of a more of Knafeh taste like the top would be like half Knafeh instead of like sprinkles. Nevertheless, it was still good it just wasn't what I expected.

But then I came back the next day to get the Banana Matcha Latte and it was amazing. It tastes really fresh and just the right amount of banana + matcha to complement each other. I will say (and maybe it's a personal thing) that it was a little thicker than I would have liked but I finished my drink so fast. I wasn't able to grab a drink before it started mixing. The ambiance and service are also quite nice. I was able to get some work done here and there are a good amount of tables for either chatting or getting work done. I went on a Thurs and Fri morning and the music was at a good volume though does get a little loud at times. Sometimes the staff will bring you your drink which I thought was nice of them. Houston's Vietnamese coffee scene is incredibly strong, but not all cups are created equal. What I loved about this one was how rich, bold, and deeply coffee-forward it was without ever tasting burnt or bitter. The coffee had that intense Vietnamese coffee flavor you want while remaining smooth and balanced from start to finish. Paired with the pandan, it was a perfect combination. The pandan added subtle vanilla-like and floral notes along with just the right amount of sweetness. Best of all, it was not overly sweet, which is where a lot of specialty coffee drinks miss the mark for me. The flavors complemented each other beautifully without either one overpowering the other. That said, this place is chaotic. If you're in a rush, I probably would not recommend it. My coffee took about 20 minutes, and the operation felt busy and hectic. Honestly, though, it was worth the wait to try authentic, high-quality Vietnamese coffee in Houston. If pandan is not your thing, don't worry. They have a huge menu with plenty of other coffee and drink options to choose from. For coffee lovers, this is the kind of place worth seeking out. Houston continues to impress me with its Vietnamese food and coffee scene, and this spot is another reason why.

Dubai chocolate ($6) - This consisted of a large milk chocolate bar filled with rich pistachio cream and kataifi (crispy shredded phyllo dough). It tasted amazing and much better than most places selling these. Pricing was reasonable. Overall I enjoyed my latte and dessert. The interior has some Yemeni decor and there is quite a bit of seating. The only negative is that I wish they had more sweet and snack offerings.

When we arrived the line was long and menus were not available so we had to search for the menu on the website to avoid deciding at the counter and holding up the people behind us. After ordering, tables were cleaned consistently and service was friendly. Only feedback about seating was outside parties would take chairs from other tables and leave them with no seating and not all tables we're shaded. The drinks being available at the bar when it is busy and then food being delivered to the table was a bit clunky. I picked up water and utensils for our party before sitting and would have preferred to have to pick everything up at the counter or have everything brought to the table to avoid multiple trips around when the restaurant is busy.
