We were here on a Thursday evening for a seminar event. They have 2 rooms in the back that are very well suited for small gatherings. Service was as to be expected for this type of event. I got ONE glass of ice tea and no offer of a refill. We had a small menu to order from. The Caesar salad was divine !! Well dressed and shaved parmigiana. I had the spaghetti with shrimp and feta. Shrimp was well cooked but the feta did not taste like feta. It had NO taste at all. Not sure what would cause this. It had a red sauce that was OK. Hubby had a sirloin steak that was drowning with gravy and mushrooms. Did not look appetizing at all. For dessert we had chocolate cake, served with a dollop of whip cream and a strawberry. Let me begin by saying, the appetizers here are amazing--well, at least, all of the vegan ones (most of which I've gotten). There's a green hummus??? Wow. Perhaps my favorite out of everything we got all night. However, although they do have a nice variety of vegan appetizers, they only have one vegan entree, the Golden Quinoa. It isn't bad, but it pales in comparison to the appetizers we've had. Additionally, over the past two years (during which we've come to parizade about 3 times, because we had a massive giftcard to use up), the quality of the entree has gone down somewhat. When we went last night, I was disappointed to feel that it was altogether underseasoned. It's also disappointing to see that they have not attempted to introduce or switch our their vegan entree in 2 years. The service also varies. Last night, our server was fantastic, and obviously very experienced, but on past visits we have gotten less experienced servers who have made our dining experience more uncomfortable rather than less so. Perhaps most frustrating is that only one out of three of the servers appeared to understand what it meant that we were vegan. Both of the others, after being told that we were vegan, recommended dishes which were not vegan (which we had to awkwardly tell them), or suggested we add protein to the quinoa dish (which, again, I don't think they have a vegan tofu to add--or if they did, he didn't tell us). I'm willing to have some grace on a server that is learning, but I think it's frankly unacceptable for a fine dining establishment to have wait staff who don't know how to accommodate vegan customers (especially when they literally have their vegan options labeled on the menu!). Generally speaking, a hefty giftcard to a fine dining restaurant should feel like a gift, not a burden. Because of the limited vegan options, however, using up our giftcard felt like something of a chore (and we ended up resorting friends with us the last time so that we could blow most of it on a few bottles of wine). If you aren't vegan, I'm sure you would enjoy this place. If you are, I think that there are much better fine dining experiences in the area. Even so, I'm rating this 4 stars because the appetizers, the wine, and the cocktails were all truly 5 stars. read more

I feel like a fool for sleeping on Parizade, so learn from my mistake and go if you've not tried them. We visited last week for a birthday and from the moment we got to the table, it was lovely experience. They had a happy birthday sign, and a free dessert was given. But the apps and dinner? And the wine? Those were the culinary stars of the show. We absolutely loved everything- the ribeye is not to be missed, and I highly recommend the braised beef ribs. We had some wonderful olives and spicy red pepper hummus to start, but watch out that you don't fill up. Last but absolutely not least, the service was perfect- attentive but not too much so, knowledgeable, friendly. It didn't feel like our first visit at all, as a result. The interior is gorgeous and colorful and felt really intentionally and skillfully designed, too. We'll definitely be back. read more

I am honored to come to Parizade for a meal with my good friend and neighbor. I was last here for a seminar. That was years ago. Things have changed. Parizade is an upscale place with a spacious interior. The main dining room has a view into the kitchen. Come here to celebrate an occasion. Come here for a date night or friends' night. Waitstaff are dressed to serve and are all great people. My neighbor and I each ordered a two-course meal. My neighbor had pretty much everything on their menu. He recommended the lamb ribs, shrimp, and octopus appetizers. I chose the octopus and was not disappointed. I had another order prepared to take home. Our main courses were delicious. My neighbor ordered their filet mignon special and I ordered their goat-cheese-and-spinach-stuffed chicken breast. Each dish is well-crafted. I selected two red wines by the glass from their wine list. They have premium wines by the bottle. The prices tell me I'd rather buy it but not open it. I'll take the bottle home and open it at home. Girl's night out was a big success due to the friendly and knowledgeable staff and the delicious food at Parizade. When we walked into Parizade, we were immediately captivated with the beautiful design and ambiance of the restaurant. It felt like we were transported to a whimsical other world. This was the highlight of triangle restaurant week for us! The menu was awesome, portions were large, and every item was delicious. Lovely Mediterranean steakhouse. Came as a large party of 35 and were sat in a separated dining area with a separate bar. Inside is dimly lit and there's an open kitchen style as you walk through the restaurant. Tried many different appetizers but loved the fresh sourdough with oil to start, the Caesar, and the pita bread with dips. I went with a 14 ounce ribeye, cooked medium rare and came out pretty close. Meat was good quality and the mushrooms and potatoes were also solid. Service was great, would highly recommend this spot. read more

Parizade was phenomenal! Christopher, our waiter, was friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel like we were the only guests in the restaurant. If I could give more than five stars, I would. There was a storm that night that knocked out the computers, but the staff and kitchen recovered beautifully. Igor, the manager, was a constant presence--checking on us frequently. Between him and Christopher, they ensured we finished in plenty of time to make it to Les Misérables. They literally made us feel like family. As for the food--absolutely exquisite. We decided to go here tonight because I love this restaurant group's other restaurants. This was not great very disappointing. They said roasted potatoes they were boiled. The chicken was good. Husband had a glass of wine and they poured the silt into the bottom of his glass - gross. The decor is odd, but the waitress was very sweet. Her name was Doria - too bad. We will not go again. Parizade has been my wife's favorite restaurant in Durham, North Carolina. We typically go there for the branzino fish for her and the wonderful, thick pork chop for me. We got there at 5:30 last Thursday 2-12-2026 for less noise. I had two of their specialty cocktails at the bar, neither of which I liked. She was dismayed to learn that the restaurant did not have branzino that night, for some reason. I was dismayed to not see the pork chops on the menu. Our waiter, Angel, who was very good, explained that the porkchops were available but that they had been taken off their Valentine's Day menu (for some reason which was unexplained and makes little sense). I got them after all, and/but my wife had red snapper which was okay, but not her favorite, instead of what she came there for. The pork chop that I was finally able to order was delicious - probably the best I've ever had because of its thickness, tenderness, and the delicious sauce on top. Neither my wife nor I liked our salads much. But the desert we ordered was delicious - like a banana Napoleon. The disconnect of course is between what they say they have on their webpage and what they actually have. The other complaint/concern about the restaurant is that around 630-645 they dimmed the lights make it too dark to see your meal. I find this silly and defeating. Because I expected this, I actually brought a small flashlight to use which was awkward. I know I've got old eyes, but not that old! The restaurant certainly has its good points, but tonight was a struggle! The lesson I took away was that the food - when they have it - can be very good. The Service: We haven't had this good of service in a longgg time at a restaurant. The waiter was very attentive, friendly, on top of refilling bread, and made great recommendations on what to order and special things we could do with our order. The Drinks: My husband got the Blanc vermouth & I wanted to steal his drink...so good: light refreshing and crisp! I got the blackberry mescal marg which was also great but you definitely need to be a mezcal fan to enjoy this one The Food: I ordered the seafood plaki and loved it. In Durham NC on the Duke Campus for work and asked a gentleman at the valet stand where should I go for dinner. He mentioned 2 places, and this was one of them. Parking was a bit tricky because they share the same area with another restaurant. With that being said, the first thing I noticed as I walked up was the inside looked really nice. The hostess was super friendly and I decided to sit at the bar since I was alone. The bartender was very friendly and engaging. I started with the Tzatziki dip and Pita chips and it was REALLY GOOD. I then went with the Horiatiki salad, thos think was full of that old school Greek Salad flavor(VERY TASTY). for my main course, I went with the Australian Lamb Chops. The Chops were good size and perfectly cooked as I went with a Medium temp. The flavor of the chops were incredible. I will definitely come here again to try something different... Had the Branzino and it was cooked and plated nicely. The entire branzino was served on the plate with different veggies and most of the bones already removed. The vibe is a little more upscale but the food and pricing is actually more welcoming. They had complimentary bread which was great while my Branzino was cooking and it didn't taste plain as expected of a complementary item. Finished the night off with the seasonal pumpkin cheesecake over the napoleon as I wanted to try something limited and specific here and it was nice and not overly sweet. We were going to be in the city of Durham due to major surgery for our son and decided to visit one of the Bakatsias restaurants. (We have always trusted the Bakatsias chain of restaurants throughout NC to provide amazing, beautiful meals for last 50 plus years.) We chose Parizade, which we have enjoyed in the past. Since it had been a while since we last visited Durham and dined at Parizade, we entered the restaurant through the wrong door....the one for the bar. We had "speed read" the sign, and felt reprimanded when we were told we entered the "wrong door" to check in, which dampened our visit. The check in station was about 10 steps away with its own door. But coming from the parking lot, the "bar door" is the first door one sees. (No one bringing money and guests should ever be reprimanded for using the wrong door.) However, the hostess Camilla made up for the employee's comment with her genuine love and concern for us and other guests. (We watched numerous other guests mistakenly enter the same "wrong" door. Suggestion is to put clear signs on the doors like "Bar Entrance Only" etc. or move the "welcome station" to that first door. Of course with hundreds of restaurants competing for business in Durham, the goal would be just to have dining guests come through any door they want!) Leah was our server. Hard to tell which was best --the amazing meal or our amazing server. The salmon and branzino seafood entrees were deliciously prepared and almost too beautiful to eat. The banana foster dessert was as beautiful as it was delicious. (Had to quit talking with family members and hold it in our mouths to savor all the flavors!) The atmosphere was wonderful, lifting the mood of upcoming surgery. Just before we left, the new general manager, Ms Stong, who had been walking about and talking with guests stopped at table, conversed and thanked us for coming. Finally, just as good as the dessert was to see Mr Bakatsias still walking around and welcoming guests, As he did us. I came with my boyfriend on a Friday night for dinner. It was packed when we arrived - good thing we had a reservation. The inside was very upscale and aesthetic. I ordered the ricotta gnocchi, which came in a very large portion. The texture of the gnocchi was perfectly chewy, and the short rib meat was very tender. The dish was very delicious. For dessert we ordered the double chocolate fudge cake which I quickly devoured - it was so rich and creamy! Have dined here twice now and really enjoyed the food. The burrata, prosciutto and melon appetizer is simple and tasty. We enjoyed it with a few apertifs. Our entrees tonight were the Pork Osso Bucco and the Roasted Chicken Breast with spinach and goat cheese. We paired each dish with a glass of red wine. Dessert was the chocolate java cake which was a perfect decadent end to the meal. Our first time dining at Parizade, we were out front on the patio. It was very loud with the train coming close by regularly. Next time we will know to ask to sit in the courtyard if we want to dine outside. Inside dining can be somewhat loud if it is busy (lots of large groups), but the atmosphere is lively and the service is good. The only downside of our first visit was the Red Snapper special. It was overcooked and filleted (very slowly) at the table by our waiter. By the time he finished the fish was not hot anymore. On our first visit the Chai cheesecake was amazing. Overall, a nice neighborhood restaurant with excellent food, service, and atmosphere. We love Giorgio's restaurants - they handle food allergies very well! read more

I got the Bronzini fish tonight, and it was incredible and gluten-free. For all the celiac people out there, almost all of their meat and fish. Entrées are gluten-free! The decor itself is a reason to dine here. Totally over the top - a bit eccentric, glamorous, and beautiful all at once. We came here on a family trip to celebrate a Duke graduation and it did not disappoint. In fact, this place is pretty close to the campus itself. The food did not disappoint. My waiter was named Chris and he was very helpful with the menu and gave great suggestions Started off with a few appz WATERMELON & BARREL AGED FETA It was served with halved grapes, aged balsamic, almond dukkah, basil..... the almond dukkah gave a nice crunchy texture to the watermelon and the flavors of all ingredients made the dish well balanced . Next up was the PHYLLO WRAPPED SHRIMP With a basil, dill, caper chimichurri... the shrimp was delicious and the strings of phyllo wrapped around it gave it a nice crunch and the chimichurri was excellent . 3rd appetizer was the GREEN CHICKPEA AND MUSHROOM FALAFEL Served on a hed of tzatziki, pickled onion, cucumber salad... this is one of the best falafels I have had in a while ! The main course was the HERB STUFFED BRANZINO served with smoked tomato salsa and shaved fennel... this was a while baked fish cooked perfectly topped with shaved fennel and the smoked tomato salsa base the fish was sitting on was subtle and tied in well with the fish . Also ordered a side of GRILLED BROCCOLINI pecorino romano, anchovies vin cooked perfectly with a nice flavor with the pecorino romano and anchovies which was not overpowering at all Definitely going to come back and try the rest of the menu... reservations are highly recommended. read more

This updated review is about takeout during Covid times. We decided to order the prix fixe takeout dinner menu for our anniversary. It was easy to order online. When I went in to pickup I had to go to the bar. Since we opted for takeout to avoid people, I would have preferred just a quick pickup up front rather than having to walk through the restaurant. I did end up having to wait about 10 minutes past our pickup time. Not a huge issue, but since we put in for the 5 p.m. time, which is when they open for dinner we figured everything would be on time. Food portions for takeout were great! The dessert portion was AMAZING! The appetizers were yummy! I had the Italian Burrata and it was sooo good, and a giant portion! My husband had the Green Chickpea and Mushroom Falafel. For our main dishes I had the Roasted Chicken Breast. It looked a little pink to me, so I actually stuck it in the oven to be on the safe side. To be honest this was probably my least favorite meal I've had from Parizade, it was stuffed with goat cheese and spinach with tzatziki, and served with green chickpea and rice pilaf. My husband had the spaghetti which came with shrimp and said it was really good. Our desserts were THE BEST! We each had the Banana Rum Napoleon, and said that was definitely the best dessert we have had in a loooong time!
