The place is lovely the people are very friendly and open to do events! People were nice There was plenty of parking The platters are nice but could give more fries because they are so delicious.

We are all entitled to our own opinions, right? Well here's mine: Parking: 5 Location: 5 Decor/ambiance: 5 Customer Service: 5 This awesome Mediterranean spot offers a fresh spin on items like pita wraps, gyros, falafel platters and more! Today we ordered takeout through their delivery service and it actually arrived 10 minutes earlier than expected. They deliver within 15 miles of their restaurant. That is actually a longer distance than most triangle restaurants that run delivery services. Pictured here is the falafel platter which is four pieces of falafel, three pieces of grape leaves and a choice of a salad. Also pictured here is the chicken Shawarma. This features chicken, garlic dressing, potato strips, parsley and pickles. To top it all off we grabbed a side of potato strips. After devouring that meal, we are feeling right fancy so don't mind us if you see us in the street dancing . Anyways... Don't hesitate to reach out to these guys - they are up and running and ready to take your meal requests!

A great place to go for lunch. Fast service. Nice buffet or individual options. A little spendy for my tastes, but not too crazy. I was in the area for work and needed a bite over my lunch break. It was so good the first day I decided to come back within the same week. I got the lamb and beef gyro the first day which was tasty and plenty of food with the side of fries. Fries were done well: thick cut, crispy on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside. 2nd day I got the buffet. With a drink it was $20. All the same food I had the day before plus a ton of other options, just no fries. Overall I would highly recommend.

Went here for a Yelp special and walked into preparation for a party. The restaurant was covered with balloons and people were setting up, so it took a moment to find out who actually worked at the spot. Finally a lady told me that she would find someone to help me and he appeared. I told him why I was there and he instantly handed me a Yelp bag. He asked me what kind of wrap I wanted and I told him a falafel. He also asked what side I wanted as I didn't have to get fries. I told him at first hummus, but then changed to the lentils and rice. Unfortunately the rice and lentils was not what I was expected as it literally had no sauce or umph and it was just plain rice and plain lentils. I definitely was expecting more from when it came to this side dish. What helped was the falafel wrap that had a delicious spicy mayo based sauce to it. But, the falafel was a little dry and fell a part very easily. I guess I was just expecting more from this restaurant and they just did not deliver it.

I've heard about this place for so long, but it's not convenient to my house so I haven't been there. I feel bad for the business because it's smack in the middle of RTP, and with COVID, they have to be hurting. I had the falafel gyro and it was huge and delicious! I had the side of hummus and pita bread, and while both were good, I've had better. My husband had the lamb and beef gyro, also huge, and also delicious. My daughter asked me to bring tabouli home for her and she loved it! The grape leaves were also good. If this place were closer to my home, we'd eat here often.

We stopped by this place for a Monday lunch. My coworker had mentioned there was a buffet. That was the magic word that brought me here. The buffet is 15.99 a person and includes a drink. They give you a small syrofoam cup that you can fill up on fountain drinks. Not the most expansive buffet but enough for some variety and to fill you up on. The got a lot more vegetarian items than meat items. They have a lot of different Mediterranean salads, hummus, rice & lentils, chicken peas, gyro, chicken shawarma, chicken curry, etc. They had a cauliflower salad which I loved and some grape leaves as well. There was some chicken curry there which wasn't the most flavorful and that's expected I guess as they're not Indian restaurant. They had a tandoori chicken which was a little on the dry side but was very smokey and had a nice grill flavor. They had a wide variety of sauces you could douse your food in for anything that was bland or dry. I loved the garlic sauce and the cucumber tzaziki sauce they had. For dessert there was two different types baklava, vanilla pudding, and fruit. Overall, a pretty food Mediterranean spot that fills you up pretty good. I would definitely come back again.

This spot is awesome! Came here for lunch with my coworkers and we where all very happy with our food. Service was fast, accurate and absolutely amazing! Food was fresh, flavorful and fulfilling. I'll definitely be back again

    Beautiful, modern decor.

This location of Baba Ghannouj has a buffet full of Mediterranean goodness! On the cold side, we found roasted cauliflower, stuffed grape leaves, hummus, and a lot of other good things. The warm side included hot fresh pita, two kinds of rice, falafel, chicken kabobs, chicken schwarma, beef and lamb gyro meat, and a few vegetables. Everything we tried was well seasoned and amazing. They offer complimentary hot tea, which was welcome on a cold Saturday afternoon. I'm giving them five stars because of the cleanliness. The beautiful, modern-looking buffet was kept spotless and was frequently replenished as diners came and went. You won't find crumbs on your table here, as you do in many order-at-the-register places. When we finished our lunch, our table was quickly cleared for us, and it was cleaned before the next customers arrived. They also provide hand sanitizer near the plates. This was a unique touch that I very much appreciated during flu season.

I ordered some food from this restaurant! Let me tell you I finished the whole thing. Great chicken and lamp. Everything was tasty . The owner Kaid is a great guy. Definitely will come back

Chicken Shawerma Wrap with garlic sauce

We have been here many times for the buffet pre-COVID but hadn't been since. Tonight we finally ordered takeout from here. We got the Mezza Night Kit that comes with an assortment of sides along with Chicken Shawarma. All of the dishes were made fresh and packed a ton of flavor. The kit included chicken shawarma, hummus, tzatziki sauce, garlic sauce, stuffed grape leaves, tabbouleh, olives, crackers, and baklava. The shawarma wrap had some yummy chicken with pickles and fries in the wrap! The pickles packed an extra punch of flavor that worked well with the white garlic sauce. The white garlic sauce is a MUST! It's so good. Our food was ready quickly for pick up and we ordered the small kit which was perfect for 2 people and we still have a ton of sides left over.

Buffet lunch (do they do this for dinner too?) with tasty Mediterranean treats. All the things that you're used to having from Greek and Lebanese restaurants, self-serve and pile it on high. I was very pleased with how fresh the salads were and the taboulli was excellent. Stuffed grape leaves were perfect. Hummus was very garlicky and the right smoothness that I like. Chicken curry in a rather wet sauce that tended to splash but poured on top of yellow rice was excellent. The lamb/beef sliced donner meat was god but a little overdone on the reheating. For a buffet, it was really very, very good. I have to say, it was above the usual quality and quite well done. Round number review #7400!

    Lana L.

Good options for a $13 lunch buffet (but maybe a bit pricey for lunch), including kale salad, cilantro salad, hummus, baba ghanoush, grape leaves, pita bread, cauliflower, rice, pasta, meats, baklava. The cilantro salad stood out as a really refreshing appetizer. You pay right when you enter. There is plenty of seating inside the restaurant. Service is very friendly, and as quick as possible, considering that stuff seems to be made to order. I ordered a chicken kebab platter which comes over a bed of basmati rice, possibly with saffron. Whatever the rice tasted great and it wasn't dry like at a lot of places. The chicken was marinated in a tangy yogurt-spice mix, grilled and topped with a tahini sauce. Delicious! As sides I got mujadara and roasted vegetables which were also tasty. I'll be back for takeout for sure in the future.

"Bodega-like Mediterranean Grill & Grocery in Parkwood area of Durham"…read more This place is WAY off the beaten path for most, but I'm so happy to have gotten to try it out. Nestled in a little strip between a Muslim school and a mosque is this grill and grocery. We came on a Wednesday evening, and almost every table was already taken by diners. You order your food at a counter, and it has the Middle Eastern foods you'd expect-- kofta, shawarma, gyros, falafel, baba ghanouj, hummus, baklava, etc. I opted for the lamb gyro sandwich with a side of baba ghanouj, and my dining partner had the falafel sandwich. They call your number when it's ready. Food took maybe 10 minutes to receive, so we browsed the market area. It's not a huge selection, but very traditional-- nice seeing so many labels in Arabic, and along with standards (e.g., canned fava beans for Ful Medames), they also had things like frozen chopped mulukhiyah leaves-- that's definitely a rarer sight. Lots of good spices too. The food was EXCELLENT. The lamb was juicy and perfect (unlike what another Yelp review said), the tzatziki sauce was delicious, and the baba ghanouj was perfectly cooked and textured. I had a small bite of the falafel, and it was indeed one of the best I've had in the US. Price was fair, too-- the sandwiches are all under $10 before tax and tip, and making it a combo with side and drink cost just something like $2.50. And service was friendly-- although they called out numbers, they did walk out with the food to try to find and bring you your dishes. And while it was an older space, it was overall still generally clean. Overall, I'd VERY happily come back.

Staff came to us immediately for our drink and appetizer order then allowed us the requested time to view the menu. The ambiance and feel of the place is incredible! We ordered the Greek mimosa and the spartan Bloody Mary along with the avgolemeno soup to start. Then the Pasticho and mousaka .Being Greek we are very particular about our Greek food. The Greek mimosa was excellent, the flavors aren't anything like a regular mimosa it is a whole new experience, if you like a red or rose wine try it! The bloody mark has a bit of a bite but it too has a great flavor I would not order if you don't like spicy or can't have salt. The avgolemano was delicious just the right amount of lemon too simple and elegant just lemon egg chicken rice and broth with light seasoning. The Pasticho was excellent! They even bought the right noodles ! About as close to my yaiyas as a restaurant can get! The mousaka was also delicious. Many times you get it the eggplant is either greasy or hard. This was perfect and not highly seasoned. I recommend giving this restaurant try parking is definitely a lot easier than Tara and the food is excellent and the ambience is fabulous!

I went with a group of 6 adults this past week and realized that the atmosphere no longer outweighs the other nits for us. The restaurant was maybe 80% full, but our servers couldn't find the time to check on us. We had a bottle of wine served, and maybe 15 minutes later needed more wine. We finally got our server's attention and we got more wine. Once our entrees came out, our server and wine guy never came back to our table. We even told them we would like more wine but they never came back with it. We would've bought 4-5 bottles of wine that evening had someone come back to check on us. Instead, we just sipped our waters until we were ready to leave. The food was honestly mediocre all around. The lamb was overcooked and inedible, the eggplant dish was over salted, etc. We liked our dips platter, but it came with a tiny bowl of pita and like three pieces of celery for $24, so most of the dips went uneaten. If someone had asked if we needed more pita or vegetables we would have said yes, even if we had to pay for it. But nobody did. I could go into more details (mansplaining and some belittling all around), but it's not really important. We realized there are restaurants in Chapel Hill that we'd rather visit in the future. I hope Kipo's is able to make some changes because we really love it. But in the meantime we're going to give it a break.

Perhaps my favorite out of everything we got all night. However, although they do have a nice variety of vegan appetizers, they only have one vegan entree, the Golden Quinoa. It isn't bad, but it pales in comparison to the appetizers we've had. Additionally, over the past two years (during which we've come to parizade about 3 times, because we had a massive giftcard to use up), the quality of the entree has gone down somewhat. When we went last night, I was disappointed to feel that it was altogether underseasoned. It's also disappointing to see that they have not attempted to introduce or switch our their vegan entree in 2 years. The service also varies. Last night, our server was fantastic, and obviously very experienced, but on past visits we have gotten less experienced servers who have made our dining experience more uncomfortable rather than less so. Perhaps most frustrating is that only one out of three of the servers appeared to understand what it meant that we were vegan. Both of the others, after being told that we were vegan, recommended dishes which were not vegan (which we had to awkwardly tell them), or suggested we add protein to the quinoa dish (which, again, I don't think they have a vegan tofu to add--or if they did, he didn't tell us). I'm willing to have some grace on a server that is learning, but I think it's frankly unacceptable for a fine dining establishment to have wait staff who don't know how to accommodate vegan customers (especially when they literally have their vegan options labeled on the menu!). Generally speaking, a hefty giftcard to a fine dining restaurant should feel like a gift, not a burden. Because of the limited vegan options, however, using up our giftcard felt like something of a chore (and we ended up resorting friends with us the last time so that we could blow most of it on a few bottles of wine). If you aren't vegan, I'm sure you would enjoy this place. If you are, I think that there are much better fine dining experiences in the area. Even so, I'm rating this 4 stars because the appetizers, the wine, and the cocktails were all truly 5 stars.

This place is freakin' delicious. So, we had a great meal from the food truck once. And Gussy's catered a wine pairing dinner at Peak of the Vine in Apex which was spectacular. We decided then we had to visit the brick and mortar location, but one thing after another delayed us until today. We went with our (adult) kids and everyone loved every bite. I had a new pork gyro and their amazing lemon rice (do not sleep on the lemon rice, it is a stealth amazing side), my wife had the fried shrimp platter and the shrimp was great. Somehow more shrimpy than most fried shrimp. I don't know what that means, but there you go. My daughter got the chicken gyro with fries and declared the fries her new favorite fries. The veggies were so crisp and fresh in the gyro that even though she finished all the chicken, she brought the last few bites of pita and veggies home because she didn't want to waste them. My son is a limited-taste eater, but was relieved to see some Italian classics on the menu. He went with his favorite sandwich, a chicken parmesan hero. He didn't have super high hopes for an amazing experience, because outside of a pizzeria chicken parm is usually just good, never great. But he was shocked, "This is better than most pizzerias. I'd have to get one here and one at Mezza Luna and have them side by side to judge them, it's that good." So yeah, Gussy's. Don't wait around like we did. There are a lot of great little shops in this plaza that deserve recognition--I never would have found them without a Yelp search. I walked in to get a quick takeout order because I had to be back for a meeting in 30 minutes. I almost left because there were about eight people ahead of me waiting to order. I also just started a keto diet, so I was hoping they had something I could actually eat. The menu looked incredible. If I weren't on this diet, I totally would have gotten the gyro and fries that I saw delivered to a nearby table; I was literally drooling. I settled for a Caesar salad to go. I forgot to ask for no croutons, but that is on me! It came with fresh pita and tzatziki, which looked and felt awesome. I tasted the tzatziki before giving them both away, and it was delicious--probably the best tzatziki I have tasted in a long time. For my salad protein, I chose the chicken skewers (you get two). The salad was dressed, and I had to sprint to my meeting. I opened it and took a bite at the office, and let's just say I kept my camera off and my microphone on mute for most of the call! The chicken had such good flavor, and the salad had a generous amount of shaved parmesan with a nice dressing. They also did what I always do with a Caesar: added lemon. There were two big wedges of lemon in the container, which provided that perfect extra hit of acid I always look for. While I didn't get to interact with everyone, the woman running the front of the house (and probably the back, too) was incredibly nice. I wish I experienced that kind of service everywhere I went; the world would be a much friendior place. I think I'll be a regular here.

Of course we had to have lunch there, having so enjoyed the food @ Neomonde Raleigh. This location feels like it is in the hub of downtown - many streets come together in this spoke-like cluster with a small park in the center. All of Neomonde Durham's windows offer great views while eat-in diners enjoy the amazing food, and it was clear that it is a regular for workers in the area to come grab a meal to go - many pickups occurred whilst we were there. The menu is the exact same as the Raleigh one, so no menu pics, just pics of the trendy setting - and my delicious Beef and Lamb Shawarma - YUM‼ The ladies behind the food counter were super nice, the food was as delicious as it was @ the Raleigh location, same selection of erudite beers and healthy drinks available. However, the level of connectedness with the customers was different - perhaps due to the business and office buildings that surround it - customers are more likely than not on a tight schedule. There wasn't a Service Champion like Alex to add that extra dimension of welcome - the cashier (maybe manager on duty) was perfunctory. However, the setting was clean, bright and well-appointed - if I were a worker in this area Neomonde Durham would be a weekly stop!
