This salon was recommended to me by the concierge at the hotel I am staying at. When called to make my appointment I spoke to the owner. She was very thorough, explained all of their policies and set me up with Angel for the next afternoon. Angel was very welcoming, we had a great initial conversation about what I was looking for as far as cut and color and various options. We My color looks amazing, and my cut is beautiful. I have very fine chin length hair and he kept the length, adding layers, but kept it so that i could wash n wear or style it. Spent $400 on half highlights and specifically asked for no gold/brassiness, showing photos of my usual creamy blonde. The owner (Corinne) insisted a little gold was fine and that most clients "freak out" unnecessarily at the mention of gold -- then proceeded to give me exactly that. I left with a harsh yellow-gold blonde I've never had in my life. I returned a week later for a toner, which only slightly improved the color and faded back to yellow within three weeks. I was told it was due to prior stylist damage (though I've never had an issue with the stylist I've had for 5+ years), mineral build-up, or "California water." If that were true, I would have walked in with yellow hair -- which I absolutely did not. Multiple other stylists told me the work was so poor that I should request a full refund. After days of back-and-forth, I requested a partial -- since I had to pay another stylist $200 to fix it. Instead, they offered a third visit at my expense and denied the refund. The stylist even sent me photos of my hair after the dye job, claiming the orange/gold tone was due to my "natural hair changing color" -- something no other stylist has ever suggested, and which she mentioned only after I requested a refund along with multiple other creative excuses - none which were mentioned in my first visit. It was pretty clear she gave me gold and was unable to fix it by toner alone (which would have been impossible). Rather than just admitting she messed up and offering to fix it back to what I walked in with or provide a refund, she put all the blame on my hair quality and avoided any accountability. The new stylist corrected it easily with fresh foils, proving the issue was poor technique, not my hair. She also confirmed (which is obvious to the eye) there was no damage except the bad highlights I received. I'll have to get it reset to normal again in three months time but I'm currently out $600+ for what should have been basic blonde highlights -- instead I got subpar work, bad excuses, and zero accountability. Super embarrassing that not only are they ok with this level of poor workmanship but that they are ok with openly scamming clients like this. Worst salon experience ever. read more

I came in recently because I was looking to get a more styleized haircut for my wedding than I get at my normal barbershop. Corinne was recommended by a friend so I set up an appointment about a month and half before the wedding as a trial run to see if I liked it. When I arrived to my appointment, I couldn't have had a better experience. I described all the issues I had with my normal haircuts to Corinne and how it was hard for me to get a good haircut that fit my face and was balanced because it seemed like my normal barber mostly only cared about the fade portion. Corinne was so helpful and knew exactly what I needed and gave me a haircut that was better than I imagined it could be. When I got home I showed my (now wife) and she said I HAD to go back to Corinne and get the same haircut before the wedding and couldn't have agreed more. I had an amazing haircut from Mona. I was a first time client doing a walk in and didn't know what to expect. The salon is very small but cute and efficient. When it's time wash your hair they just rotate your chair around and have you lay back because the sinks are cleverly built into cabinets underneath the mirror. Mona did an amazing job. We talked for several minutes on how to fix my hair and she made really good executive decisions. I felt SO good after the appointment and love my fresh cut. read more

We moved out of state but I found this place when we were visiting and now whenever we go back, I make a point of getting a cut (and sometimes color) here. It's on the 6th floor of a building near the Whole Foods downtown, so it's a great location, close to the hotels, etc. I've seen a few different stylists there and just book with whomever is available when I'm in town and have time. Emmanuel has been my go-to hairstylist whenever I'm in LA. He is very knowledgeable about what would and wouldn't work with my hair type and head shape. Not only did he provide an excellent cut, but he also explained a routine for me to do at home so I can mimic the reference photo that I provided him. Emmanuel's consultation service is also quite exceptional. He helped me come up with a hair plan based on how I wanted my hair to look which I can take to another barber whenever I'm traveling. Had an amazing experience with Becca! I don't normally write reviews but she deserves it. Randomly found the salon on Yelp because wanted to get my bangs/face framing pieces refreshed ASAP. I'm afraid of going into salons because bad hair experiences so I'm always hesitant. The actual space was so cute, trendy (not necessary for me but definitely a plus!), and clean. I told Becca what I wanted and let her take reign and she killed it. I wanted my front pieces to flow better into my bangs and to get them trimmed shorter in general. She was really attentive to my concerns and made me feel super comfortable. I do get anxious sometimes when I know I have to sit in the chair and make awkward small talk but it was so nice chatting with her which was a relief. Emmanuel is world class for men's cuts, especially if you want something modern and high end. I spent about 2-3 hours looking on yelp for a new stylist after my old one moved and Emmanuel was first on that list and exceeded all of my expectations. Really, really talented with men's cuts and very thorough and consistent. I've also sent tons of men's makeover clients to him and he always knocks it out of the park. He's really good at cutting latino/asian/south asian hair, which is kind of rare because a lot of stylists don't have that experience and don't understand the differences. Highly, highly recommended if you want a high end men's cut. If you're not sure what you want or what would look good for you, he also does consultation/cuts where he sits down with you and maps out what kind of cuts would look good for your headshape/hairline. Very cool service, as most stylists don't have the in-depth experience to be able to offer something like that. read more
