Mikel was my stylist the day I went in for a blowout and O M G! He was absolutely incredible! I have never had such a meticulous blowout in my life. He took the time to listen to me describe the style and volume I was going for. He was so gentle with my head during the actual blowout. I'm used to stylists pulling or burning my scalp during blowouts because they're just trying to get you in and out of the chair, but not Mikel. He was so methodical with the way he was drying and pinning my hair. When we got to the end and I saw myself in the mirror I swear I almost cried. I looked like a Barbie doll! After a few mishaps with other colorists and wasted time and funds, I found Melissa De Loza, who carefully listened to me and discussed what I wanted and produced fabulous fabulous results! She nailed the color perfectly!! This is not easy in my experience, and I'm really picky. Not too red, not too dark and a natural looking brown with very subtle hues. I love how she has a fantastic eye, coupled with a sense of cool. She has never made me feel rushed, and has a calm, comforting and highly intelligent personality. She showed me pictures of her own iterations of different hairstyles and colors which further demonstrate her eye for a diverse range of colors and styles. I started coming to Benjamin because of stylist Ligia - Ligia is MY GIRL!!!! We met during COVID shut down and she was so easy to chat with and brainstorm hair ideas. I had never built a relationship with a stylist before and she has changed that. She turned my long, heavy, dry waist length hair into medium length - and fresh color- with SO MUCH LIFE. Both my cut and color are so ON POINT now. She also gave my husband a cut just by listening to what he wanted, his style, and she nailed it. And he is SUPER CRITICAL and he swears she's got magic hands. He loves that he can go in and not say anything and she just KNOWS WHAT TO DO. We both go downtown to Benjamin now when we need touch ups and that in itself is SUCH A TREAT. The salon is beautiful and clean and everyone is trendy and edgy. Came here for the first time last week to get some blonde highlights on my naturally medium brown hair. This was the first time in a very long time I did anything to my hair. Sooji placed some very natural highlights and I am super happy with how they came out. I asked for something natural that wouldn't clash too much with my naturally black and bold eyebrows but was still noticeable enough to brighten up my look. They also pulled the razor sheers and thinned my hair (after a keratin treatment!) when point cutting would have done a better, more sophisticated job. I love Joey, and I love how my hair turned out. Already got 2 compliments within one hour after leaving the salon. Benjamin salon just opened a second location in the Arts District. They are having a promotion all week long with free cuts and color so I nabbed a morning appointment with Joey for highlights and a blowout with Michael. Benjamin salon is located in the red and white complex with Cafe Gratitude next to Bulletproof Coffee. They validate for 2 hours free in the parking lot. $2 for each additional 15 minutes. If I remember correctly, foil highlights are $250. Blowout is $70. Cut is $110 but don't quote me on that! read more

I booked a cut and blowdry with Andy. She was aMAZing--I have very fine hair, and because of that I've always had such issues finding a cut that will give it some shape, while leaving it long. I trusted her expertise and she was able to keep the length while still giving me some gorgeous layers in the back. Andy gave my hair LIFE again!! And she made the booking so easy; I was able to contact her through Instagram (@displaysample) and she set up the appointment with me in minutes (well...seconds, really!). We both wore masks so I felt totally at ease hanging out for the duration of the cut and style! I've been going to Clint at Benjamin for my cuts for years! He seriously is awesome. Aside from him being so pleasant and enjoyable to hang out with while you get your hair cut, but he's just straight up good at what he does. I've never had anyone else pay so much attention to detail when it comes to cutting my bangs. And he always knows what cuts will work perfectly with my face and my hair texture. He always encourages me to step outside of my comfort zone when it's time to change things up, and I swear he always ends up being right! I went in for a cut last Friday, and per usual, I got TONS of compliments on my hair that weekend. I don't live in the area so unfortunately I can't make the drive out to him as I wish I could. I made an appointment with Kaitlyn for partial highlights and she did such an amazing job!!! I came in with dull blonde hair that needed some love and TLC. She took me from full and drab to light and full of life!!! I was greeted upon entering by the receptionist who was professional and friendly, he took my temperature before I headed back with Kaitlyn to start working on my color.
