I recently ordered takeout and had a good experience. I had the sloppy pastrami melt and fried jalapeños. The food was ready when I got there and was still hot by the time I got home. The sloppy pastrami melt was delicious! The pastrami was a good cut and didn't have any fat. I was expecting the fried jalapeños to have more batter but they were tasty. They have a wide variety of burgers so lots of options here. My fiancés favorite is the turkey royal burger with the egg and I LOVE the mushroom Swiss cheesesteak. It's pretty greasy but hits the spot. They have a few booths for seating but we usually do take out since it's close by. There's also a bubble tea place and ice cream shop in the same building. If you're getting fries (they're generous with the portion), make sure to get the seasoned ones and use the chipotle mayo dip that they give. Employees are always super friendly too! read more

I really had a very very bad experience here. Went with my family, and this place is a bit odd as it's an ice cream store, bubble tea store, and burger / sandwich place all in one. Seating is not really great as its a lot of beat up booths, and two people pretty much have to take up a whole booth that can hold 6...so one person drinking a bubble tea, takes up seating for 6 (and there are only a few tables). We ended up getting $60 worth of food. 3 burgers, 2 fries, 1 sweet potato fry, and drinks. BURGER = so they ask you how you want the burger made (Rare, medium, well done). So we ordered one medium, one asked for medium rare (or at least a bit of pink) and one well done. Would you believe NONE of those happened? THIS IS NOT A BURGER PLACE...it is a MEATLOAF place. These aren't hamburgers from any kind of grill or grill/fry top. It was like the meat was microwaved, and truly, was probably one of the bottom five tasteless burgers I've ever had. Was the burger we ordered medium or medium rare pink at all ? No. Was the well done well cooked? No. They were awful. The bun was believe it or not the worst. It was stale and when I bit down, my teeth didn't go all the way through, but squeezed the buns together, squeezing the meatloaf burger flatter (it was a disgusting look). We had the Mushroom burger, bacon cheeeburger, and gyro burger. I regret not just trying a sandwich. The burgers were tastless, and frankly they really owe an apology for all of the people that were in there Saturday night for taking their money. Two workers behind the counter consisted of a young HS aged male, basically trying to flirt with the HS aged girl. His job consists of barking out a name when the order is up to come up and get your food and then look at you and nudge the tray near you. Really zero customer service. So we get home. And bad meals happen...so at this point I'm about to let it go. We all get ill. I'll leave out the details. I try to be positive in many of my reviews which you can see. Trying to put a positive spin on any of it. The fries were overpriced, but at least hot. And they gave some kind of "secret" sauce with it....which is a zesty thousand island dressing. My socks are on my feet. If you are from that area and read this. At $10+ a burger and $4 fries, you really can find better ones around. You really need to look. We did not try the burgers but opted for subs instead. My wife got the italian and i went for the Philly Cheesesteak. The Italian sub was nothing special. Standard fare. The philly was good but there were a couple areas that could really improve both sandwiches. The lack of house baked bread is the first thing you notice. The places with fresh bread really shine in the sandwich department and even the chains like subway and Jersey Mikes bake their own bread. It makes a huge difference. The cheesesteak is cooked with cheese whiz and i am more a provolone guy. But that is a cheesesteak debate I will stay out of. They also use bell peppers and i prefer the sweet cherry peppers. Again, personal preference. All in all a good sandwich at a fair price with great customer service. Fresh baked bread would have earned another star for sure. read more

She ordered a Sloppy Joe turkey and cheese . The coleslaw is tasteless and thankfully not a lot of it anyway. For an $11 sandwich there should have been more than 4 thinly slices of meat. I ordered a hot pastrami and Swiss on rye. The bread was disgustingly soggy and the pastrami was fatty and chopped up into pieces. Mine was the "California Cheese Steak plus Jalapeños" When it came out, there were NO Jalapeños on it so I had to go back to the counter. We ordered the California cheesesteak and the A1 burger (and free seasoned fries with Yelp check-in!) I was delayed with my order and the customers that came in after me all got there food before me. Poor counter service. I ordered my wife a Greek salad and I did not get what the menu specified. Been here a couple of times over the past few months. Casual spot that does burgers well in a zillion combinations l, even though they say 30. I most recently had the crispy chicken which was very crunchy- just how I like it. Came in for a quick bite on the way to shop so I wouldn't be hangry while fighting through the nearby Costco crowd. The woman at the register gave my friend and I a very bad attitude and generally acted as though she just didn't want to be there. Fine, we all have bad days, whatever. When I first moved to Dunellen, this place made great sandwiches, true to that New Jersey style. It was nice being able to get the classic "Ham, Salami, and Provolone with Lettuce, Tomato, Onions, Peppers, oil and Vineger". I"m listing it out because chain restaurants like Subway have changed what even New Jersey people think of the old Italian Hero, and other states add additional things, like olive salad, misc other meats, swapped out sweet vinaigrette dressing, tons of mayo. These guys did it right with the right quality cold cuts. It's not so common to see Thumann's meats these days, and everyone seeks to adulterate or standardize on a newer brand like Boar's Head, but you can get that classic taste here. A few years went by and management changed hands, but the owner stayed the same, so I would come back for the same ingredients even if I didn't really like the staff, once in a while, but then it changed management again and now the owner seems to be running it and serving "30 Burgers" as well (yeah, this is the same as that hit '25 Burgers' chain that has been taking off in the past few years). I went in on a whim and found out they are serving the exact same hotdogs from the famous "Hiram's" hotdog restaurant in Edgewater, NJ, so if you miss that Hiram's / Callahan's hotdog culture of Bergen and Hudson county's past, this is a convenient place to get it. He even has the Yoo-Hoo that is customarily eaten with that type of hotdog. read more
