I recently opened the box and to my horror, I found my wedding dress literally rolled up like an enchilada and my veil just thrown in the box. That was it. No other padding, nothing. First, posting is incorrect. They never open before 10am. The prices have been increasing over the past three years (doubled), and the ironing of jackets always leaves a band at the back of the neck that shows the underside of the collar. Great at one time, now rather disappointing. read more

I use this inexpensive, efficient dry cleaning service for my regular work clothes as opposed to high end or complicated cleaning jobs. I haven't found a better value for money yet, and their "$1 for shirts and $2 for trousers and jackets coupon" which comes in the monthly Valpak mailer is a steal! The girl who runs the place is pleasant (she is not the owner) and I've never had trouble finding parking in front yet. read more

The first (and only) time we took my husband's uniform for a cleaning, it came back missing a button. I have used Park Avenue Cleaners for the past 2 years and have had nothing short of great experiences. I routinely use them for my work uniforms, which have amazing deals for Police and Fire (only $5.50), you can't beat that! I have also used them for my king sized comforter with great results. Their crowning achievement was their expedited service. I was in my friends wedding and purchased a brand new suit a few days prior, and they were able to clean and press it for me within two days, which prevented me from being "that guy" looking like I just rolled out of bed. Dog got sick all over the rug during the night. I had a major freak out and tried to clean the rug, but to no avail. Had the rug dry cleaned here and now I will be moving to a new dry cleaners. There were a few instances before this that should have been red flags, but I was too lazy to research a new dry cleaner. The first mistake was that I had to sign a waiver and pay upfront for the rug. The waiver said if they destroy the rug or lose it then it's not their fault. I really didn't want to buy a new rug so I signed the waiver and was told to pick it up in 2 weeks. They send everything out to their San Ramon location. I come in 2 weeks later and no rug. I give them another week and come back. Still no rug! She gives me the phone number for the other location and I go into full on bitch mode since I'm so annoyed at this point. The other location has no idea what I'm taking about with this rug and say they will have a manager call me. Over a month later, I have the rug back after I'm given the run around and have to do all of the figuring out of where the stupid rug is. They didn't destroy the rug which is a plus, but it wasn't as clean as I thought it would be. read more

What was done wrong: 1. Two hems. I brought in two pairs of trousers. The hems on each are at least two inches too long. 2. Dry cleaning. A sport jacket that I got at a thrift store had spots on a lapel and the inside of one sleeve. So I had it cleaned. When I got the jacket back, the spots were still there -- in fact I just I removed one of them with a damp sponge and a dry cloth. The garment does appear to have been pressed, however. 3. Expertise. The person at the front desk knew very little about how to measure a hem. She asked whether I knew my inseam, and I said that I did, but I suggested that I try on the trousers because length varies with the manufacturer and how the trousers are built. When I tried them on, the desk person asked me where I wanted the hem, which gave me a bad feeling. Every other time I've had trousers hemmed -- whether at a reputable clothier or at a dry-cleaning/alterations place like this one -- the person knew where the hem should be, marked it, and then asked whether I was OK with it. This person, although she was nice, seemed like she was out of her league and was counting the hours until she got off work. 4. Payment method. Park Avenue Cleaners is cash-or-check-only, and it requires payment up front. This gave me a bad feeling. It made me feel like I was suspect, and it also makes the business seem shady, as if it doesn't trust its patrons and is expert in tax evasion. As I walked out, I felt like I was being had -- and like I'd just visited a pay-day loan and check-cashing place rather than a dry cleaner. What was done right: 1. Repairing a split seam on a light polyester jacket. This is another thrift-store find. The material had frayed, as if it had been washed after the stitching came out, and although I could have repaired this myself, I'd rather have a professional do it. The bottom line: I paid about $35, and the only thing that came out right was the jacket repair, which I could have done myself. What's more, I'll have to have the trousers re-hemmed and the jacket re-cleaned. I called to ask for a refund, and the same front-desk person said she'd have to check with the managers a couple of days from now. I'll update how this turns out -- but if Park Avenue Cleaners offers to re-do the cleaning and hems, there's no chance I'll take the clothes back there. I've learned my lesson here. Never again will this business work on my clothes. read more

WORST PLACE EVER!!! they ruined one of my nice Italian suits. took my BLACK suit in there and picked it up ORANGE. the worker Martha gave me all kinds of attitude and told me that it was like that before. she didn't want to compensate me for the price of the suit or even give me a refund for the price of the cleaning. I would give zero stars if I could. After customers for 12 years of patronage, haven't had any problems until recently. About a month ago every time we went to pick up dry cleaning buttons were broken and completely ripped off of suits and dress shirts. Even though we complied with the request to unbutton all garments prior to having them cleaned. We brought this to management attention and reason provided was their machine was breaking the buttons. They declined to fix the buttons at their expense. We decided to take our business elsewhere. read more

Terrible customer service-we had a very similar experience to Chet R. After being a loyal customer (not due to great friendly service, just laziness to try another place), my husband's brand new shirt went missing. My daughter did the pickup and didn't count when leaving the store. They didn't admit to it, but waited for us to come in looking for it even after I had left messages requesting a call back and a detailed description of the shirt (short sleeve all white silk made by Quicksilver) . I had called and spoke with Ali who shared that it wasn't there and they have a very good process for tracking these items. I had to go in to the store if I wanted to talk further about this. When I did come in looking for it Ali said there was no way it was there and we had to have received it. In other words - he was right and the customer was very wrong. I explained that it wasn't possible and asked if he realized he was calling me a liar. I pushed him to look further...and went to the back to look through unclaimed items myself. There it was ...took me 1 min to find...nice silk white shirt all stained up. I was given a claim form to complete and told it would take 4-6 WEEKS (they are processed by their Dublin sister store). I shared that it wasn't acceptable and waited for a promised call from the manager. Nothing! Bottom line...I had to go to the store 3 times and call 4 times to try and get this resolved....my claim amount was $65.55 (receipt for brand new shirt was provided) and I had to go pickup the check which was short..it was for $65.00!! Funny...really 55 cents - they shorted me because they must value the change more than providing decent customer service. They make the claim process so brutal in hopes that people forget they lost an item and/or eventually give up perusing a refund! read more

This is what happened to me. I dropped off my wedding dress on Monday April 23 to be cleaned and boxed. I had a coupon. I was told it would take a week but he (Ali) would call me when it was ready for pick up. The next Monday comes and he doesn't call me so I call the next day and my dress isn't ready. He said the person that takes care of the dresses had a family issue and wouldn't be able to return the dress right away. I picked it up on Saturday May 12. They had misplaced, lost, thrown away my wedding dress bag. He called me and said he found some bags but when I stopped by there the Monday after Mother's Day it wasn't the right one but he let me have one as collateral. He said he would look for it at his store or the other stores and call me back. Days became weeks and no bag came up. I called the week of July 9 twice, Ali said he would have his manager/owner call me. The weekend passes and no phone call. I also called David's Bridal to get a price on the bag. Surprisingly, it was only $12 with tax. I called Ali back and he told me to come by and get the money. Picked it up and returned that ugly white bag today 7/19. I'm not dealing with them again. The worst costumer service. Found yellowish stains on the shirt when took it out of the plastic. Took the shirt back to show them... "it's 110% not our fault. It's your husband's fault that he spilled food on it." I explained that the shirt was in the plastic until this morning. They insisted that they have nothing to do with it. I recently moved Livermore and left my dry cleaner in Fremont. I selected a dry cleaner close to my home and have yet to be able to pick up my clothes due to the fact the diss Drake lyrics closes at 6 p.m. every night. How can a person with a normal American working job get off work and be there before 6 to pick up their clothes this is not reasonable. Well I understand that it is my choice to bring my clothes there this is not and adequate time to close your business. We've been coming to Park Avenue Cleaners since 2002 when we lived in Dublin. Since 2007 we've been going to the Livermore location. In all that time, they only misplaced 1 pair of pants, and then found them later and called us to let us know. Everything has always been ready on time. We've never had to have anything recleaned or had anything damaged in anyway. Their prices are great. Their staff in the Livermore location is not cheerful, but they do the job. I recently went to the Dublin location since I needed something the next day and the staff was excellent, much better than previous years. They're busy and growing, so they're doing a lot of things right. Oh, and they're the best for cleaning our huge comforter!! read more

A huge thank you and kudos for Park Avenue Cleaners in Livermore. I have used them on and off over the years and I always have been happy with their service. I am even happier now after my last experience. I brought a couple of jackets in to be dry cleaned and dropped them off with the front counter employee. When I returned a few days later, the employee behind the counter asked me if I had lost my passport. Up until that point, I had no idea whether I had or not. He smiled and walked over to a drawer and pulled out my passport. He said he does not normally check the pockets of garments before placing them into the bins for pick up, but did this time because he felt something in the pocket. So not only did they save me the chore and cost of replacing my passport, they also got the stain out of one of the jackets that two other dry cleaners in town said they could not get out without even trying. I will definitely be using Park Avenue Cleaners exclusively now and would recommend them to anyone who needs fast, reliable, friendly and reasonably priced dry cleaning. Thanks guys! read more

This place is not easily visible from the street because it's located behind the Taco Bell in the Nob Hill shopping area. The people behind the counter are always courteous and are always friendly over the phone. They also have the best deal in town especially when you use coupons that you can get once in a while from the mailers. There's always more than adequate parking in front of the store as well. I'm usually not there for more than 5 minutes between picking up my dry cleaned items, dropping off and paying for more items to be cleaned. Staff are very efficient and I haven't had any problems with any of my clothes. read more

Our renters took our drapes to Park Avenue Cleaners before they moved out. I wish they hadn't. Our well-made, very expensive drapes are now 4" shorter as are our Target-variety drapes. Also, seams were torn and decorative buttons were lost. Worst dry-cleaning job ever. read more

I had the WOSRT experience with this place. I needed a pair of pants hemmed which the guy did not even have me try on to measure, instead he asked me how many inches I needed them shortened. It was very unprofessional. He told me they would be done in a week so when I went to go pick them up they were not there. My pants were at their Dublin location. I had him call to see if they were ready. After he hung up, he proceeded to lie to my face saying they were being cleaned and pressed for me and would be there in a few hours. He was supposed to call me when they were done and back at his store. I called him hours after the time he was supposed to call me and he finally told me that the pants were not able to be worked on.
