Sat, 11/2. ordered a large pie half veggie and cheese, two margarit slices and egg and pepper sandwich which was awful. the half veggie and cheese pizza was more broccoli than mixed veggies. I called to asked what'a on their veggie pizza and the YOUNG girl who answers the phone got snappy with me when I was kind asking about the pizza. I asked if I can send a photo and I was told she knew what it looked like and continued to be rude about it. Her words at this point what do you want me to do about it? I should have sent it back And drove there. Margarita pizza was dry no basil and the egg sandwich was basic. If I wanted a broccoli pizza I would have ordered it. I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN. Ordered here a few times for work. They are prompt and friendly. Orders always come piping hot. The man that answered the phone stated we would receive 10% off ordering online. During this pandemic, we've been trying different pizza places especially after finding out our favorite is under new management and hasn't hit the spot for us anymore. Park Ave Pizza Cafe definitely didn't hit the spot for us either. We ordered through Grubhub, an extra cheese pie with cheese fries. I'm so happy I tried this place again, they've been so consistent with their baked ziti. It's so delicious, I payed for extra sauce and the amount of it was perfect. The portion is HUGE, I usually eat from it 3 separate times before it finishes. The garlic knots are so good, super garlicky. Nothing beats that fresh garlic taste. This place is not what it used to be. When I first tried this place a few years ago, it was amazing. I would've even gone as far as to say that it was one of the better pizzeria's in the local area. However, I cannot say that anymore. This place feels like it just stopped caring. You can see the lack of care in the attitudes of the staff, you can see the lack of care in how the place looks, and you can see the lack of care in the food. I ordered from here to give them another chance and was very disappointed with the outcome. For starters, the staff was NOT wearing masks whilst in the middle of a worldwide pandemic. The front guy was also not wearing any gloves and would handle money with the same hands he'd make the food with. Afterwards, when I got my cheese pizza and opened it, the pizza looked so beat up and sloppy. Pizza is supposed to be one of those foods that looks appetizing and gets you excited for the first bite, but this was not it. The cheese fell right off of the dough and the sauce tasted very watery. We've been ordering from this place for years now as we live around the corner, and their food and service have improved drastically over time. I feel really bad seeing all of the poor reviews during the pandemic, but understand. We had a singular bad experience with them at that time, and I'd probably chalk it up to a supply issue because the quality of the food was awful. However, it was just that ONE TIME - maybe they couldn't source their usual ingredients, I don't friggin' know. We all know how difficult things got during that time. The food has been excellent ever since. The pizza is great, it always comes piping hot, the wings are the absolute best in the neighborhood (order them dry with the sauce on the side and you'll see what I mean), and they've expanded their menu quite a bit! I've ordered a few salads with grilled chicken and I was very pleased! I'm also happy to recommend their wraps (HUGE) and the buffalo chicken hero (my fav). Park Ave Pizza Cafe has been on my roster of go-to pizza places for almost 9 years, so I hate to have to give them a bad review, but I picked up a pie earlier tonight and I was pretty shocked to see that, with the exception of a small table in front of the register, the restaurant appeared to be taking zero COVID precautions. No face coverings anywhere on staff, no plastic dividers, just a bunch of mouths and noses roaming free in a poorly ventilated room. The food is still above average, so I can't bring myself to go all the way down to 1 star, but c'mon, show a shred of common sense and respect for your customers' health (and your own) 10 months into a pandemic, guys. read more

The cheese and pepperoni pizzas are the best you will find in union city / weehawken. They also sell dough if you want to do a DIY pizza night. I had to leave a review this evening as after an extremely long trip, I called the restaurant to let them know I am coming in late, but needed a delivery and one of the owners delivered the food shortly before their closing for the night. The pizza was great and the salad I ordered. Park Avenue has been my go to for months now during the pandemic and will continue to order from them.
