This is one of my favorite pizza joints. It's not fancy. It's just good, solid pizza they way I like it. The size of the slice is perfect, on the larger side. The thickness is how I like it. Not thin like a cracker. There's substance to it. The price is very fair. They have a 2 slice special, that I always get. I'm from NYC so I'm used to paying dollar slice cheap pizza or over-priced, over-hyped pizza. I wish this place was in Manhattan or Brooklyn but everytime I'm in Jersey, I always stop by for the pizza. I read some of the reviews that talk about bad customer service here,..well, I've been coming to UC Pizza for years and I've never, ever had a bad experience with the workers. Horrible customer service! I could not select more than one topping for pizza. Called to get extra topping and was told 'I can't add to a postmates submitted order. I asked to be charged separately via uc pizza point of sale system. I was told it would be an 'extra charge' and He said ok. An hour passes by, I call to check on my pizza and was told 'postmates is slow' I said well my pizza will be cold now.his reply was 'oh it's on top of the oven' I then reconfirmed my extra cheese request and was told 'oh it was made as submitted' I said what does that mean, is there extra cheese or not Bc you confirmed with me an hour ago. So then he goes on this tirade that I shouldn't of ordered through postmates but on the site and he can't charge this it that. I'm like well why would you lie and say that you could charge me for extra cheese? Smfh. I told him I no longer wanted the order since it wasn't made to my specifications. He still allowed the postmates driver to pick up the order, just so he could turn around and drop it right back off to Uc pizza. I will never order from this place again. Let me just start by saying, I hate doing this considering the restaurant business has suffered so much due to the pandemic. Unfortunately, this is just so unacceptable I'm hoping the owner will read it and make the necessary changes. Here we go, Monday 1/25 I am in Union city taking my mom to the dr. We decided to try out this pizzeria for the first time. My mom wanted to try the zeppoles. The gentlemen behind the counter told me he wasn't going to make just one order, it's a small order. I asked how many pics per order...8! He said he didn't want to waste the product...I'm sorry, I thought the idea was to sell the product. He refused to make it, my mom wanted pizza, I didn't want anything after that, but I ordered anyway. Extra large bland pizza! With really no flavor at all!!! Topped with a bad attitude! I've been here a few times. The pizza is good and their lunch deal for a slice and a coke for $3.00 is really great considering the slices are so big that its almost like you're getting two slices. The only downside to this place is that there is not much else that is good besides the pizza. I've had the buffalo wings and chicken roll before. The chicken wings are tiny and are all bread. The chicken roll was OK, well flavored but the dough of the bread wasn't cooked fully which was really disappointing. The chicken rolls are also super greasy which is disappointing. I will be back for the pizza but otherwise won't be ordering much else from them. read more

I'm furious. I bet you want to know why. I've been living about three blocks away for a year, AND JUST FOUND THIS PLACE LAST WEEK - 6 days before I move to Jersey City. I've been passively looking for truly good pizza, and had the bittersweet experience of finding this place so close to my moving date. Let's evaluate a few things: Sauce - It isn't overly sweet or spiced; perfect compliment to the overall pizza. Crust - Perfectly thin and crispy. Depending on who is making it, it might be bigger at the edges, but the base itself is thin and can still stand up on its own if you hold it up, and won't flop over. Cheese - Your standard mozz. Not overly cheesy, not lacking either. Service - Literally everyone I've talked to here in the past two weeks has been super friendly and helpful (and extra bonus: quick af). Value - You're not going to have as good of value for what you get anywhere else. Bet. Single enormous slices are less than $2, an order of garlic knots will set you back 100 pennies, and Mon-Weds they have a $7 FOR A LARGE PIE. tl;dr: You're losing money if you don't come here. read more

A very mediocre pizza spot. I prefer pizza that is a perfect mix of sauce and cheese, and if there has to be more of one than the other then I prefer more sauce. Here, there tends to much more cheese than sauce. There's very little sauce compared to what you'd expect on a plain cheese slice, it just feels like you're eating toasted bread with melted cheese. The staff is friendly and courteous but the pizza is not worth going out of your way to get. read more

I give this restaurant 4 stars not because the food is fabulous. The food is great for the price. The service is friendly, quick, and the prices are really unbeatable. Overall the sandwiches taste pretty good, and consistently so. The portions are huge, and it's probably the best pizza in town. To begin, the pizza is awesome. My problem with this place is this: Most of the time, they will refuse to make your food if it is anything other than a slice they have already set out and ready to be heated up. Example: We order from here usually on weekends. They don't close until 10, maybe 11pm on Saturday nights. We called at 8pm and they told us they didn't have chicken parm. So we asked for eggplant parm. Nope. Any parm? Nope. All out of everything. Fast forward a couple weeks later. We called to order a Sicilian pie. Nope. Don't have those. So basically, the menu is useless. They have regular pizza. That's it. You can call or stop by and see what, if any toppings are available at that time. Staff is otherwise very polite. read more

I used to order from them quite a lot. However in recent years the quality of food has shockingly declined. I had a pizza pie delivered. I asked for extra sauce. No extra sauces were added and the pie had the texture of cardboard. This has been consistent . Also the pizza box showed another company name called Panchos?? My sister and I went here one night when we were looking for a place to eat in Bushwick. The font on the sign looked just like Roberta's, and it had similar offerings, so we thought maybe this was a new offshoot. Boy, were we fooled. We ordered to go and got our small mushroom pizza ($14!) within ten minutes. Way too fast to be fresh. It was cheesy and better than some other neighborhood pizza spots but the sauce was flavorless and it was definitely not worth $14. They pretend to be gourmet but are not.
