I spent about 90% of my visit with Lexi, and she is truly incredible. I have never felt this comfortable at a dental appointment before. She made everything feel calm, safe, and stress-free. I've had several excellent dental appointments here within the last 3 weeks. I've put off having needed dental work for too long due to a bad previous experience years ago (different Dentist). Call it anxiety or fear or whatever. Fast forward to a few weeks ago (9/25/25) and I broke a front tooth on a piece of crispy pizza. Talked to Katie and she got me in same day. She set me up and put my trepidation where it belongs. Which is nowhere. Katie & Lauren are all-pros. Dr. Hubbard and his staff are obviously experts. The other reviews were right. I was told I had three cavities and needed monthly checkups due to gum recession. It didn't sit right, so I got a second opinion down the street a month later. They did a full 3D iTero scan--no cavities, no follow-ups needed. Call it negligence or malpractice, but I won't be going back. read more

I would rank this zero stars if this was an option! Worst experience of my entire life - first, I wasn't told (despite the front desk calling me 4x times asking me if I wanted to change my appointment time and hounding me to provide my insurance) that the first appointment would be 2+ hours long. Second, I went to a different dentist six months ago and nothing was wrong, now when I go to this dentist suddenly I have gum disease, my back teeth are rotting and it's going "to be a blood bath" during your cleaning - direct quote from Doctor H, right after I told him I have medical anxiety. They tried to sell me on a ton of stuff including laser treatment, deep cleaning, mouth wash, etc. none of which was covered by insurance of course. I declined everything and they still tried to push me on it but they ended up just doing a normal cleaning and then I bought the mouth wash just so they would let me leave (after being there for 2 hours at this point). Very disappointed with Park Cities Family Dentistry. I have been seeing them since I moved to Dallas 5-6 years ago. Was out of the country in the Fall and was trying to schedule my bi-annual cleaning today and was told it would be June/2023 at the earliest. I explained/they know you shouldn't go twelve months without a cleaning, but they said that was the best they could do!- I guess my loyalty/years of referrals mean nothing to them! Please read! I did not have a great experience at this dentist. The first time I ever went I was told my teeth were in awful shape (had been 1.5 years since I had been to the dentist, you'd think it had been 10 years with how they reacted). I got so freaked out and nervous that I was on my way to periodontal disease and needing to get a GUM GRAFT. Out of fear I got the deep cleaning, mouth washes, and some laser gum treatment which cost hundreds of dollars when it was all said and done. I have a permanent retainer on the bottom which is apparently my ticket to periodontal disease and they said I really need to get it removed and get a retainer - the total for that (out of pocket, none of it was to be covered) was over $1100. Also I was scheduled for cleaning every 3 months to "catch up". Needless to say I went to get a second opinion after getting referred by a friend and relieved to find my teeth look fine. I am now getting cleanings every 6 months (like normal) and was encouraged to get a water pik ( only 40 on Amazon by their recommendation) to keep the retainer and my teeth buildup free AND should I ever absolutely need to get the retainer off, the total is $400 for removal and new retainer altogether. Life is already tough enough without being stressed every time you have to face your dentist!!! Always get another opinion! P.S. I was told I had 5 cavities and got them all filled there. A friend of mine went to this same dentist and was told she had EIGHT and when she went to another dentist they said she had 1. So wondering how much of the fillings I really needed. I went here 3 years ago and they did the works on me, a filling, a porcelain crown, an inlay and also pulled all 4 wisdom teeth. Initially I was satisfied with this place but ultimately I see it was a sub-par experience. Staff was friendly and comforting, Dr. Jeffery Hubbard was nice, and all that as well, however, he is a bit of a hack I think. He damaged an adjacent tooth with his round drill thing (I don't know the technical term) when he was preparing the tooth next to it for the filling - a perfectly good tooth now has a small gouge in it, big enough to be noticeable to me every day. Also, 3 years later, both the filling AND the porcelain crown came off and I'm having to have them replaced. Shoddy work. Also, due to anxiety issues I missed a few appointments (telling them ahead of time usually by days I wouldn't be there) and they said I would have to pay $50 penalty fee. So I was like NO THANKS, I'll go somewhere else, and that's what I did and I'm glad I did. read more

PLEASE READ! This is by far the WORST dental experience I have ever had. I made an appointment through ZocDoc which had great reviews. When I went in for my appointment I let them know I had not been to the dentist in a little over a year. After taking x-rays and looking at my teeth, they told me I had 6 cavities and Gingivitis. I was embarrassed that I let my teeth get this bad especially since I brush AM & PM and floss nightly. They made me do a special cleaning and told me I HAD to buy $50 mouth wash and return for a 2nd cleaning two weeks later (another additional cost). I was visiting home, so I saw my family dentist to get my fillings. When I went in and he told me that I had 0 cavities. ZERO!!! These scammers tried to get me to fill 6 cavities that I did not even have. I also DO NOT have gingivitis, in fact my dentist told me my gums look great. This dentist does not care about the comfort and health of their patients. They care about over charging and having you get unnecessary dental work. READ THE GOOGLE REVIEWS. I can only describe their diagnosis as a huge scare tactic. The hygienist said, "It does not look good" after measuring my teeth, which I've never had a problem with. She proceeded to show me an educational video (lol) on periodontal disease, tell me that I had it and that I needed an expensive cleaning treatment plan (not fully covered by insurance) to fix it. The doctor told me that I had small cavities and needed to get part of my gums lasered off or I would have issues later on (never been an issue before and when I pressed him for what these potential issues could be, he couldn't give me an answer). I didn't feel like he was listening to me at all. I immediately went elsewhere to get a second opinion and when that dentist measured my teeth, she said they looked perfectly fine and that I just needed a regular cleaning. I also didn't have any cavities (she correctly identified that it was just sealants breaking off from when I was a kid, which is completely normal). They claim they are just taking a "preventative approach," but pressuring people to pay for treatments they don't need is not "preventative," it's a scam. You either incorrectly identified or lied about cavities, fear mongered to get me to schedule expensive treatments and unnecessary gum lasering and tooth fillings, and would not give me straight up answers. read more

The dental hygienist will try to up sell you on everything. I was told that I had unhealthy gums and needed to buy a $100 bottle of mouth wash and an electric toothbrush from them. They also told me I needed laser gum removal. I did have a couple cavities and they quoted me an absurd price and were going to use laughing gas even though they were minor. I went to another dentist for a second opinion and was told that my gums were completely healthy and that he could fix the cavities for literally half the price. The second dentist fixed my cavities with no laughing gas or even numbing shots and I felt no pain at all. I'm shocked that a dentist office could be so predatory. read more

I should have known better, as I was checking in every patient leaving had a prescription oral rinse it was scheduling some nonsensical future treatment. After x-rays and photos of my teeth I was told I needed an " advanced cleaning". This of course was extra. when I declined, the hygienist argued with me about the necessity and flat out refused a regular cleaning. She said other dentists are lazy and don't do things correctly. Horrible. Went to get a teeth cleaning and was there for THREE HOURS. I have always had a natural chip in my front tooth and the first thing doctor Hubbard says upon meeting me is "we're not responsible for that chip in your tooth, you know that right?" then suggests I get a full set of veneers before getting married. While leaving I got stopped at the door and confronted about $400 of dental work I needed. Already knew he was a complete scam at this point. Went to a fabulous different dentist after this where I was complimented on my chip, "it's cute and adds character!" and charged $80 for my two fillings, not $400. Beware of upsell. The office is lovely, the staff are courteous, but the ethics behind their practice is sheisty. I sent my 23 year old son there for a routine cleaning and they sold him a laser gum treatment, 2 bottles of rinse, and had him prepay for some of his next visit's services. This is a kid who has had routine dental cleanings every 6 months since he was a toddler and has a perfect smile, teeth, and healthy gums. All completely unnecessary. And Dr. Petrutsas wanted to remove his permanent retainer (placed by his orthodontist) and replace it with something new--another upsell. If I wanted a cosmetic dentist I'd have chosen one. I selected this office because they're advertised as "family dentistry". This was NOT family dentistry. This is a practice solely interested in making a mighty buck. Shameful! I went to Park Cities for a few years... being new to Dallas and just needing a cleaning it was fine. However, when I needed my first filling, it was the most painful, traumatizing experience I've ever had. I am not exaggerating when I say my mouth and jawline was sore and swollen for a month. I have photos. I've had numerous fillings before with no problems. They also push the clear aligners so they can make $$, and when I finally gave in and paid them $150 for the consultation, they basically said, we can't fix your teeth. My teeth are not bad at all... no one I interact with even thinks I have crooked teeth. I decided to write this because I went to a new dentist for a crown today (which is a much more invasive procedure than a filling that Dr Hubbard did) and I feel completely fine. Same day- no pain or swelling. If you want to endure unnecessary pain, go to this dentist. If not... go literally anywhere else. One last thing- it's clear the staff here do not respect the dentist, so as the person in the chair having to see their interactions, it was just awkward and unprofessional. I have almost no complaints about Park Cities Dental Group. I go to Dr. Smith and he is very nice, prompt, and I think he even remembers a thing or two about my personal life (or he's bothered to take notes on my chart). I've been going here for 2-3 years now, I was nervous about finding a new dentist (my old one was in Houston) because I have heard so many horror stories about people going to a new dentist and being told they have like 12 cavities - aka the doctor is a quack and/or extortionist. Anyways, that didn't happen here. I've never had a cavity and that didn't change when I started going here. Parking is easy, the building is clean, the waiting room is nice - although I've never had to sit in there for more than a few minutes. My biggest complaint is their hours, they are only open during normal work hours, so I always have to take time off my 9-5 job to go in. I also hate that they don't have a way to sign up for an appointment online. That's actually the reason I'm writing this review, I hope they read this and will consider implementing an online appointment system. It's easier than calling, since sometimes I call and get no one - even during their supposed business hours. Friendly, quick, painless- just like you want a dentist to be. Dr. Hubbard is awesome! I changed insurance and had to find a new dentist after many years with my previous one. I went in for a cleaning and they found 2 cavities. The cleaning was fine so I made an appointment for the fillings. I declined the gas because I don't like it. So I was expecting my 2 shots and the drilling to be rough. Nope! Dr. Hubbard made the shot painless- seriously, like magic. The drilling was over quickly, too. He asked me each step of the way, "are you okay?"... and I was. He even called me a "good patient"! Ha ha! Maybe the best experience I've had at the dentist. Just a few notes- you'll get several reminders (calls, texts, emails) about your appointment. They will keep coming until you confirm that, yes, you will be there. They are kind of perfectionists, so they will tell you all about the things they can do to fix this crooked tooth or that discolored filling, etc. I kindly declined and they moved on. Trust me, the good experience with the fillings will outweigh any of the other little things. Parking was weird- there is a garage, but hard to find/get into- so ask about it. read more

Every person who works at Park Cities Dental Group was friendly, attentive, and knowledgable. I felt very comfortable throughout my cleaning. I have been coming to this office since I moved to Dallas, 9 nine years ago. However, after yesterday, this is the last straw. I am switching to another dentist, after having bad experience upon bad experience over the years. Yesterday, I was up sold three different times over the course of my visit yesterday, including being recommended Botox. During the Botox suggestion, the dentist then made comments about my facial structure being square and how it will be changed to a "heart shape" after Botox. Then he said, I could put some in between my brows. I thought I was just getting a cleaning! As a young woman, this made my self esteem plummet. The rest of the day I was incredibly upset and self-conscious about my looks. Also Dr. Hubbard said my shoes looked like his house slippers (I was going to do Yoga after my visit). This is quite comedic in retrospect, but in the moment I was miserable. If I'm going to do something unpleasant like the dentist, I want to go to a place where I feel good about myself and my dental health. I do not recommend this establishment -- unless you want generic cleanings and to be up sold constantly. read more

This review is for Park Cities Family Dentistry (Dr Petrutsas & Dr Hubbard) not Park Cities Dental Group (seems to be Dr Allison & Dr Smith). Somehow reviews for both facilities are here, probably due to the similarities in practice name. I have been a patient of Dr. Petrutsas for many years-probably over 12. However, like some other now former patients have noted, things seem to have changed in the practice & not for the better. One problem I have had for years is the unavailability of emergency treatment. On 3-4 occasions, I have had to suffer w/ an unexpected tooth abscess for over a week before being seen. In most cases, I was then briefly seen & then sent to an Endodontist. I don't see why I wasn't worked in for a brief 5 minute emergency appointment. I am immune suppressed so delayed treatment for infections is a medical risk for me. I still believe Dr. Petrutsas does great dental work. However the up selling & insistence on repeatedly doing "deep cleaning" on teeth that no longer need it has gone way beyond tiresome. My last visit was my final one for this reason. I had a crown come off & went in for an exam & crown replacement. All I heard was the insistence on another deep cleaning even tho hygienist kept saying how great my gums looked then the big concern was for me to schedule ANOTHER ONE in 3 months. Nobody cared about my crown. I was told that "I broke it" & that I would need an implant. I'll be seeking another opinion & a new dentist. read more
