I have been going to this location for all my dental needs (except whitening although they do provide that too) literally my entire adult life. I didn't have dental insurance for almost 10 years so I just never went, and when I got it again I came here due to the location. I have always had excellent care, perfect cleanings and when I had to have 10 cavities filled (I know..) it actually wasn't nearly as painful as I remembered them being as a kid. I have kept my hygienist and I refuse to see anyone else because she's 10/10 (ask for Mai) and my dentist here is Anna Riester- so awesome. I just had my 6 month cleaning/checkup today! I wouldn't rate a dental practice 5 stars if I didn't firmly feel that way (remember that 10 year gap- it was 50% not insured 50% fear!) read more

Good Doctors however, billing department and management is disorganized when it comes to dental insurance quotes, they will give you a few estimated quotes without checking with your dental plan they will inflate the numbers to your insurance company so that you will come out of pocket thousands of dollars. I paid my dental bill which Ryan states that my bill was satisfied only to receive another bill owing thousands of dollars. I would beware of their billing practices. You have been warned. I will follow file a complaint with the better business bureau regarding their business practices. read more

Park Dental at LaSalle Plaza is incredible! *Caring, Kind, and Genuine while saving money and helping patients* At my mom's last dental appointment (not at Park Dental), her dentist informed her that she was at risk for gum disease and tooth decay. Her dentist proposed that she removed the infected tooth all together and replacing it with a new one. The estimated cost, with insurance, was $10,000. Afraid of losing her tooth, she asked a friend what to do. Her friend referred her to Park Dental at LaSalle Plaza, particularly Dr. Chris Fondell. Thankfully, she was able to schedule an appointment with him within a few days. The staff at LaSalle Plaza is incredibly helpful and kind. I accompanied my mom to the appointment. The clinic is comfortable, spacious, and bright. The appointment went incredibly well with Dr. Fondell. His kindness, determination, and expertise helped reassure my mom that they could save her tooth. You could really tell that Dr. Fondell genuinely cares about his patients and tries his best to help them. After a referral to a gum specialist and further cleaning, my mom will keep her tooth! A simple change in hygiene through brushing techniques, cleaning, a new tooth brush, and quarterly visits to the clinic is all she needs to keep her tooth. Not only will my mom save thousands of dollars, she has also found a new clinic that works toward her health and happiness rather than profiting off of unnecessary procedures. Lost a patient. The dentists at Park Dental are great. I have absolutely no complaints with them. Their billing department just lost them a client. Rude, inconsiderate, uncaring, inflexible just begin to describe the attitude I got when complaining about a bill. I was quoted a price, I paid it, then got a bill that almost doubled the quote. When asked, the person taking my call could only offer that it was an insurance issue, and I could take care of it if I wanted to, but they had "done all they could." Their first response was, "If you don't pay it, we'll turn it over to collection." So much for customer service. read more

If you're looking for unnecessary dental procedures, Dr. Fondell is your man :) I was shopping around for a new dentist that was walking distance from my work. Not going to lie, I was lured to Park Dental by the free sonicare incentive. First appointment, Fondell took xrays and deemed it necessary for me to get a filling. I thought this was odd since my regular dentist (who I saw 6 months prior) hadn't mentioned anything and I expressed this to him. He fumbled through showing me teeth xrays, that I as a non dental professional do not understand, making the case for why it was needed. Just a filling, no big deal, I decided to trust him. After the filling, my tooth was very sore. I called the office to address this, but I was told the sensitivity is normal after such a procedure and should go away after a few weeks. It didn't. It got worse. I made another appointment a few weeks later when I could no longer floss my teeth. Fondell poked around and stated that my tooth was cracked and that I need a crown. I asked how this could happen? How could he not notice the cracked tooth when he was working on it (if that's indeed what it was)? He said I grind my teeth at night and that this might have happened after the filling. Um, nope. I don't grind my teeth. And my regular dentist, who's seen me for a few years, has never mentioned this. I think I actually laughed at that assumption and asked why he believed that, to which he responded that my front teeth where ground down and smooth. Yes, Fondell, they are...by design. I've had my teeth reshaped. Are dental records not very extensive, or do dentists just skip over that? As he was talking crowns, he even mentioned that I might possibly need a root canal. He also said that my insurance wouldn't cover two procedures on the same tooth in one calendar year. So he was going to do me a solid and refund my insurance for the filling so we can do a crown. At this point, I had no confidence in his competency, but I felt trapped because I was led to believe that I needed this crown. If what he said about my insurance was true, I couldn't have another dentist do the procedure without incurring astronomical costs. So I made an appointment. Before the appointment, I was lamenting to a friend about this horrible experience, and she asked where I went: Park Dental. Lo and behold, she had a botched root canal done at Park Dental. Uh...what? No, thank you. I called my insurance company to plead with them to cover this crown with another dentist because I didn't trust Fondell or Park Dental. My insurance confirmed that there was no such stipulation. That I can have multiple dental procedures on the SAME tooth in the SAME calendar year. I went running to my regular dentist, thinking I still needed the crown. My dentist reviewed the xrays and said that although he saw slight decay, the filling was unnecessary. Instead of a crown, all I needed was a cavity filling adjustment, he was surprised why Park Dental didn't do that follow up on their work. Fondell never mentioned this. We did the adjustment on the spot in the office, and my tooth instantly felt better! It was like a weight had been lifted by this magical non-Park Dental dentist. I rue the day I stepped foot into Park Dental. read more

I loved this place until I was charged a ridiculous amount of money for a canceled appointment. I understand that companies charge people for dipping out on appointments, but there should be a bit of leniency in certain situations. So I woke up early on a Monday morning with flu symptoms and immediately called Park Dental to cancel the appointment I had that afternoon. The receptionist informed me that I would be charged a fee for the last minute cancellation. I couldn't believe they were actually going to charge me. I had been going there for over a year, I woke up with the flu that morning, and why would a dentist want to get all up in the mouth of someone with the flu, anyway?! I said as much to the receptionist who said her hands were tied. I got the bill in the mail and it was $70! I had argued my pants off with the receptionist for what I thought was going to be $30 max! I just about lost it when I saw a bill for $70. Obviously, I have now switched to a different dentist. So basically, to sum up this lengthy review, Park Dental lost a lifetime of dental work so they could collect their $70 from a chick with the flu! Good job, you freaking jerks!!!! read more

If you can help it, do NOT go to Dr. Fondell. I just had the worst (and disappointing) experience with Park Dental when I tried to reschedule my appointment. I got a threatening voicemail from the receptionist and was scrutinized for having an unexpected schedule change. There is no flexibility. On top of that, he rubs my shoulder/ arm during appointments as a calming method - making things very uncomfortable. Never have felt so icky about a dentist until Dr. Fondell. I see the other reviews support my opinion as well. If you're a parent, student, downtown worker or live in the area - choose another dentist at all costs. read more

This is not the place you should go if you are looking to watch TV or play video games while you get a filling or check up. However, if you are looking for a place who cares about your teeth and don't try to screw you over with unnecessary work, then you should go here! I've been coming here for a couple years now and once, after I got a filling, my teeth kept on bothering me and my dentist was nice enough to look at it a few different times, without ever charging me.... I really can't say enough about Dr. Fondell and the Park Dental office, in the ways that matter. It is a relatively small shop, so they don't have much in way of creature comforts. What they lack in stuff that just drives up costs to patients, they more than make up for in quality patient care. I had a crown fracture on me Friday afternoon. Not only was Dr. Fondell's office the only dentist in town I could find not on three-day weekend, but the staff got me in for an initial screening at 7:00AM that next Monday. By that Wednesday, I had a new temporary crown. The temporary crown was just a bit too big for my retainer, so I called Park Dental at 9:30 the next day, and Dr. Fondell saw me at 10:00. It took him all of ten minutes to fix. Dr. Fondell is very affable and very professional. He was very gentle throughout. He explained everything he was going to do, before doing it, in professional manner and answered all my questions. He used just enough local anesthetic to do the job and by the time he finished it was already starting to wear off. I went in for an appointment and arrived 20 minutes early & was called in 10 minutes late. I had a doctor appointment immediately to follow so I told them since They were late I couldn't do x/rays today. They refused to do my cleaning and escorted me to the door. I had been with park dental for over 20 yrs. I was shocked & disappoint at the same time. Dr. Englund a new doctor refused to take care of me. I guess she didn't learn any patient care respect in school. I would not go there. U might not get your cleaning done. They had cancelled my appointment with my regular dentist the month earlier & didn't have any opening so I had no choice to see the young uneducated doctor. read more

This is a fantastic Dental, its been long since I had my teeth cleaned by professionals, my hygienist, Julie was great, looking forward to get my teeth cleaned here, she makes sure your teeth are clean. Francesca is very comforting and entertaining while I'm getting injected to get my teeth numb ( Not my favorite part, hurts a lil- a drop of tear came out) but you get distracted from the pain that you are experiencing. Front desk is good, I didn't get her name but she was pleasant to deal with, she knows her customer and Kathleen is affable and pretty communication/ approachable. read more

I had an accident that required major attention (awoke in the ER, then got 4 crowns, 1 filling and an implant - all natural, strong teeth before that) and a painful fight with my insurance to cover it. I chose this place because they take both my dental and health insurance and Dr Reister is the best I've ever had, even left my old dentist to go here. She has held my hand thru every visit for the last 12 years and has given me excellent recommendations. When I had problems with a referred provider and the insurance company, she went to bat for me and helped me resolve everything. I have not been impressed with the other Park Dental doctors when they've had to fill in for her last minute... ask for Dr Anna and you'll be a happy patient again! read more

Very fast and friendly. It's easy making an appointment, and they send you courtesy reminders when it's time for your next check-up. They are opened early on weekdays, so you can stop by before going to work, which I did on my last visit. By the time I rolled in, the receptionist already had my paperwork ready and I was taken to the dentist's chair immediately. Not a minute wasted, which is awesome. The dental hygienists are nice, polite and they're careful with taking x-rays, which is really my most hated part of a cleaning. The dentist was efficient and kindly didn't put me in the awkward position of talking about how I was while shoving some sharp implements down my mouth. read more

I went in after moving to the cities to have a checkup. I was greeted with laughter when everyone in the room with me said my teeth looked like chiclets. Then even more laughter when my mouth was too small for the adult size mouth piece. Terrible, especially when you have issues with smiling to begin with. read more

Only come here if you want unnecessary procedures done. I had never had any problems with my teeth, came in for a cleaning to this place and they found "2 cavities." They wanted to charge a fortune so I got a second opinion and they saw no cavities in the locations that Park Dental told me they were. Horrible. Only out for money. read more

I have to say that the care I've gotten at Park Dental is great. Their office is comfortable and modern, and the dentists and technicians and receptionists are all nice. BUT I am giving it a low star-value because it is almost impossible to get them to follow up in any way. The first instance of communication disconnect came when I was on my way to an appointment one morning (riding the bus, actually) when I received a call that their computers had crashed and they had to cancel my appointment (no digital x-rays = no fillings, apparently). That's all fine--but in the message they also said that they would call me as soon as their systems were back up to reschedule me. I waited a few days, then a week, and then after a month I ended up calling them to re-schedule since they never did call me. Now, months later, I call to follow up following a root canal to schedule the next step--which I understood they would initiate. First off the woman on the phone seemed to have no idea what was going on, and secondly, she said the dentist was out but that she would review my chart and call me back the following business day. Well, that was two weeks ago, and I'm annoyed again. I'm okay doing some work on my own behalf, of course--but I don't want to feel like I have to stalk my dentist. read more

I had been going to Park Dental for about 6 or 7 years. I had an appointment and I woke up in the suburbs with a sick child who could not go to child care or school. I promptly called to inform them I could not make the appointment. The receptionist was so incredibly rude to me I hung up the phone and cried. It wasn't like I decided to go and get my nails done -- I had a sick child and was homebound. To top it off, a few days later I got a nasty letter in the mail from the dentist herself. As if the dressing down from the receptionist wasn't enough to put me in my place. Needless to say I found a new dentist. They could take a lesson at being human. read more

I'd visited with them for a little over a year, but the last visit I was informed I needed three fillings. Dr. Wood worked on the fillings, and two of them were not done correctly and I continued to experience sensitivity for several weeks after the fact. They asked me to come back in to get a bite adjustment, and if it wasn't going to work, I was informed that it could be a root canal issue. I lost trust then and went to another dentist who fixed the issue in about 5 minutes. Stay away. read more
