Later, when I thought I either overheated and ruined the fan motor or the fan motor was defective they walked me through the options for testing the motor and started the warranty process just in case the motor was defective. Because the fan is on a high roof and difficult to get to I went ahead and bought a new start capacitor and a new motor to only send the repair person up there once.. As it turned out, the motor was fine. The fan was turning very slowly because a paper towel got sucked up the flue and was dragging on the fan slowing the motor way down. YAY, I did not need the new motor. Volco was great. I was allowed to ship back the expensive motor for a refund and received the refund very promptly. Capacitors, of course, are never refundable. The fan works great and keeps my covered and mostly enclosed patio smoke free. I will never deal with any other company for high temperature exhaust fans and fan parts. THANKS VOLKO!!!!

It is such a joy to walk into a…read morehardware store and say....I need one of these thingys for a thingy like that, that I am hooking to this other thingy......and they know exactly what you are talking about. I can tolerate Lowes occasionally and Home Depot only if I am desperate. Its amazing how most of these small stores still have everything you need, and if for some reason they don't, they know exactly what the real name of the thingy is your trying to find. Parking here is street and about 4 spots in the back.

They carry all the usual hardware items, some small lumber as well as general household supplies (cleaners, glue, hoses, etc) Their prices are fair and their selection is pretty broad. If you don;t feel like dealing with the mobs at Home Depot or Lowes, then this is a great alternative. Note: There are usually one or two dogs running around the place. Not to worry, they are friendly.
