Fairly busy on a Saturday evening but we were able to find a table for the 6 of us. Very friendly waitress that was working very hard. Large menu but not a lot of healthy options, ended up with buffalo chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries. Sandwich was good but fries were a little underwhelming. They messed up my son in laws chicken meal as for some reason they thought he ordered fried pork chops instead. They brought him some fries while he waited fir a chicken sandwich as it was going to take too long to get fried chicken. They did comp his meal but still he had to wait for another 10 minutes or so for food. Overall an average experience but at least they owned up to the mistake and treated him fairly. read more

This was a top notch meal. My husband had been here before, and recommended we stop on our way home. Did not disappoint. Normal portions. Normal prices. Service was excellent and friendly. It seems that the locals enjoy it, as well, as they seemed to be the main customers. Please do yourselves a favor and save room for dessert or take it to go. My family and I went to Park-et in Perryville. We really enjoyed everything we ordered. I got the pork chop, mashed potatoes, broccoli, and okra. My husband got the beef. My son asked for a triple mushroom Swiss burger. They said nobody ask for a triple. They made it even though it's not on the menu. I enjoyed watching my son devour it. Average Food at a High Price. My wife & I were quite disappointed in the quality of the food with the premium price and inattentive staff. Lettuce for hamburger was brown, wilted, and inedible. Hamburger patties were nothing special, just frozen premade patties out of a box and tasteless. Onion rings were touted as "Best Ever" and were once again, frozen out of a box. The special of Kettle Beef was flavorless and not-tender chunks of pot roast in bland gravy over boiled noodles out of a bag, canned peas, and a TINY side salad at a premium price. Pies slices were disappointing in quality & size, especially at $6 each! Waitress tried to charge us for refills on iced tea and soda, just 1 at $3.29 each! The cashier reversed those charges. Something has gone downhill with this once quaint comfort food establishment. We will certainly not be back and will not recommend it to our friends. It's a small mom and pop place. The food is good. The service is ok, it's a bunch of younger kids. I received the wrong appetizer while I was there, let the server know and she just sat there for a minute then ask me if I still wanted what I ordered. That is my only complaint. Went here on our way to St. Louis from Gulf Shores and were disappointed. We were curious as to why the reviews were bad and why it was so dead inside but we soon found out why. They sadly did not do breakfast last two my friend got a chicken sandwich which she discovered had mold on it only a few bites in. The server did not confirm it or apologize and "forgot" to take it off of our bill. The salads were good and the lava cake was delicious! Our server was very nice in the beginning and we loved her but she wasn't that great as the night went on. We were ready to go prior to closing time but everyone was focused on closing that we had to get our waitress to stop mopping and give us our bill. Overall, it was a mediocre experience and I will go back as long as I have a different server and examine the food prior to eating. read more

Food here was ALL burnt and over cooked. Had brown eggs, burnt waffle, extra crunchy waffle fries, very crispy fish that was very fishy tasting and dried out pork tenderloins that were itty bitty. All I can tell you is that if you there Sunday for breakfast , expect to wait 45 minutes or longer to get your meal. To me, that's ridiculous. It appears that they will allow patrons to order anything off their extensive menu instead of limiting breakfast time to breakfast items. When the food finally showed up it was hot and tasty. But if you are hopping off the interstate, like we were for a decent, but quick breakfast on a Sunday, this is not for you. If time is not an issue, give the place a try. read more

I was unimpressed by the chicken and dumplings. The dumplings were flat like noodles, not how dumplings should be. You get a small salad and I mean it's extra small. The fish and pickles were hot. The rest of the food, just warm. It was somewhat clean inside and service was alright, nothing spectacular. They were kind of unfriendly at the pay counter. First time customer. I ordered the Southern Fried Chicken. Server told me that it would be 30-45 minutes for fried chicken since it wasn't on special. Since it was an hour before closing, I took it as a hint that I should not dare delay their closing. I ordered the Smothered Chicken instead. Well, it showed up fast food Sysco style breast with some canned mushrooms slices, old greasy bacon, and a Swiss Kraft Single slice laid across the top. Waitress got the sides wrong, but I told her not to bring out replacements, as time was an issue back when we were talking about the Fried Chicken. The French fries were ok. Wouldn't recommend. We were passing through the area and when we walked in no one told us if we needed to be seated or seat ourselves. We sat ourselves and waited for quite a while before the waitress came over. She walked away halfway through us talking to her, which we watched her so to other customers around us too. I would not recommend this poorly managed dive. There was a time you could come here for a decent meal. Sad to say, not anymore! On many occasions in the past two years since coming here we have found most waitresses are unprofessional, not only in their appearance but manners, which are lacking. We came here for a simple breakfast of French toast -- So disappointed! It was toasted on a buttered grill without the eggs!!!! Hit lightly with a bit of sugar and cinnamon. So So bad. I overheard the waitresss explain the long wait to a customer as "everyone is ordering French toast this morning!" Honestly, there is no reason this operation should be running a food service. Went to Park-et today, we usually go twice a week, we went to pay the bill and the cashier informed me they charge you 4%of your bill if you use your card. This was the first time anyone mentioned it to us, and they informed us they have been doing it for a couple weeks. Granted it was only $1.44 added to my bill, but it is the principle. What a rip off this is and why not inform your customers beforehand. This really made me rethink eating at this establishment. Another way for a company to make money off of the customer. Local staple. Good food! The servers can sometimes come off as rude but usually it is because they are busting butt (some are just rude). Don't let that stop you regardless of friendliness they will still be professional and get your food to you as quick as possible. It is more homestyle/diner food. Living in the area and always seeing the parking lot full, I decided to take my mother there for lunch on Wednesday, August 16. It was clean, smelled clean, and the ambience was pleasant. However, we weren't happy with our server, who looked most unprofessional in bright purple hair and shocking pink lipstick. She never greeted us---just asked what we wanted to drink, and since we'd decided what to eat, she took our order. After a reasonable amount of time, she brought our plates; well, my plate. My mother only got a cardboard container with her two pieces of chicken and her salad was, of course, in a bowl. We realized that the server never asked what dressing we wanted. Instead, each of our salads had dressings we didn't care for and when we tried to get her attention, we found her across the room, flirting and laughing with the four young men sitting there. She never smiled at us, didn't greet us, and never came to ask if everything was okay. We finished eating (it was "okay" food) and when I paid at the counter the girl at the register asked if I wanted to round up the bill to an even $20 and I explained why I didn't feel right giving a tip to our "ghost server." I would recommend employing servers with more personality and people skills and certainly a more professional appearance. read more
