I don't use laundry services very often, but when I do, it's usually last minute because of a job interview or unexpected event. The last time I went to Park Lake Cleaners was no exception; I called the night before my interview, but they'd already closed (Their temporary hours are 10am - 6pm as of 4/6/2021). I didn't have time to drop off my shirt for overnight service, they'd already closed by the time I started making calls to have the shirt pressed by the morning. Long story short, I dropped off my shirt in the morning and had it back within 2 hours, perfectly starched and pressed. I'd offered to pay extra for such fast service, but he didn't inflate the price at all. I left some money on the counter as a tip because he honestly seemed disinterested in my gratitude. That isn't a complaint, that is excellent service and they just earned themselves a loyal customer. I made it to The City with a half hour to spare and I got the job! Thanks, Mr Fong! read more

I went to get 2 of my pants hemmed. First, they only accept cash or check, who does that these days. Second, luckily I didn't need my pants right away because it took a week to get them back. Third, when I got my pants back, I tried them on and it looked like they weren't even hemmed correctly. They were still long on me, granted I did try the pants on so they can get my measurements correct. Lastly for the price I paid 38$, (I paid 16$ for two pants before) was definitely not worth it. I do not recommend this place if you want anything hemmed. I will give two stars just bc the person was pleasant and asked me if I wanted to try on my pants so he can get the measurements right, which failed. read more

Horrible owner! Disrespectful and mean from the begining. After getting measured for hems on two separate jumpsuits, she gave me different prices for each. I asked why? She said because the width on one was bigger, then measured it, saw they were the same and said she wouldn't change the price and I could go elsewhere. Clearly a racist and acted like she was doing me a favor. I'll never go back! Then found out my male cousin had gone there in the past and had experienced the same thing! I wanted to give Park Lake a go as I have a pretty large collection of vintage wool Pendeltons and coats. And being vintage, many were rescued from thrift stores and swap meets. This means some came with stains and BO, or the "thrift store smell". There is a dry cleaner in my town of Rodeo, but they are pretty terrible, so I thought I'd try Park Lake. The family that runs it are very nice and straight forward on price when you drop off your items. Wait time was a little long, but I was in no hurry, so this was a non-issue. Shop is very organized and clean. When I went to pick up my shirts and coats, everything looked great. Clean and pressed. Two of my Pendeltons still have a BO smell to them, though. I'm thinking either this was due to their method, or just the way it is with vintage wool. At any rate, it looks like I'll have to DIY the smell out. Again, the rest of my items received were pressed and looked very nice. Didn't have anything altered here, as I have a gal in Vallejo that does an AMAZING job and doesn't charge much. All in all, my experience with Park Lake was good. My stuff came out looking great and the price was fair enough. Oh, and they're cash only, so be ready for that. But there is a Wells Fargo right next door. read more

Terrible alteration and dry cleaning. Took in a jacket for dry cleaning and a suit for alteration (just cuffs) and dry cleaning. First, he didn't finish it in a week like he promised - a day late - no big deal. When I brought it home, the suit wasn't altered to the asked length - left side a quarter inch longer. He didn't even do the dry cleaning - as I can see the alteration mark still in intact and wasn't pressed at all. Also, one button was moved up and wasn't even lined up. I need to take to other alteration to get those fixed up now. Dry cleaning on my other jacket wasn't good at all - completely missed left shoulder. I've used many dry cleaners and this one is by far the worst. I can't believe other yelp reviews. This place doesn't do a good job with dry cleaning and charges for work that wasn't even performed. First time trying out this dry cleaning spot since it's near my home. I dropped off my comforter with 2 pillow cases to be dry cleaned, went to pick them up today came home started making my bed and I noticed they smell really bad! I thought maybe it was just me, so I had my bf smell them and he said the same thing... not only was there a terrible smell it had a huge stain that wasnt there before, so of course after paying $60!! I'm so mad. I called over and spoke to the woman who sits up front and she told me to take it in, so I did. I showed her the stain she called a guy over and he tried telling me it wasn't their fault and have no control over the chemicals, said he washed it twice! Then the lady said I told her my puppy peed on it?!! I dont even own a pet! Wtf!!! Basically they tried telling me they dont know what stains are already there when the customer drops it off and I told them it had NO STAINS!!! And it definitely didnt smell that way! They said they would try one more time, so I agreed and I left it. But as I sit here thinking about it I cannot believe what happened. I was better off NOT taking it or just buying a new one. I doubt the issue will be taken care of, I've never had any problems with my comforters being dry cleaned at other places. Never again will I take any items here. Came here two weeks ago to drop off a conferter that I needed to be cleaned. They changed me $60 which I think was kinda high but considering that I didn't want to buy a new comforter for a queen size bed I thought it would be cheaper. It was ready the next day and came out great. Very clean, white and came back fluffed which was nice. This place is located next to Wells Fargo bank and subway. The parking lot is shared which can get rather busy on the weekends and late evening. This was my first time here, close to my house to I decided to give it a try. I would come back here again because before I would go to another place about 30 minutes away from I live to dry clean items. After reviewing Park Lake Cleaners' listing on Yelp, my wife and I felt assured that this was a good place to take our clothes to be cleaned. Moreover, we really wanted to like this place because it was so close to our new home in Hercules. However, Park Lake Cleaners was a huge disappointment, and we will certainly not return. We took a lot of clothes to be dry cleaned, and this is what our experience taught us: First, we could not find any prices for services listed. Prices are established at whim. Pricing and policies should be transparent, and all customers regardless of ethnicity or skin color should be treated equally and have access to the same prices. This is after all the U.S.A. Second, the turn around time for any services seems a bit longer than desired. We were asked to wait at least 4 to 5 days before receiving any dry cleaned items. Third, and most importantly, they damaged our comforter and my wife's blouse. The comforter now seems to shed, when it never did before we took it to be cleaned. And, they tore my wife's blouse in several areas and refused to admit that they did anything -- only saying they'd take it back and see if they could "re-clean" it. It was extremely difficult to communicate to the owner our concerns. Any time I attempted to explain that we should not have to pay for the blouse when they had not only failed to remove any stains but damaged it, the owner simply looked at me with disbelief. Unfortunately, it seemed that the owner was only interested in collecting money for damaging clothes than providing a reasonable service and admitting or reasonably addressing any wrong/damage they cause their customers. Where is customer service when you need it? Certainly none is to be found here. In sum, we were seriously disappointed with our experience at Park Lake Cleaners and will take our business elsewhere. read more

Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who needs alterations or dry cleaning in general. I came in with my coat and dress that needed alterations. My white coat ended up looking fine and when I tried on my dress the same day of pick up, it ended up being too long on me still because I measured it wrong so I came back and asked for a redo. Didn't know that I could try on my dress there with my heels for her to have a better idea of what to fix with the dress so that's what happened the second time around. I needed my dress within a matter of a few days at this point and the lady told me she could do it by the time needed despite being really busy. I paid for it being rushed which I didn't mind. My definite go to place to get my pants, jeans, dresses and whatever that needs to be hemmed. They do a really good job and never been disappointed. I also take my cloths here for dry cleaning and do a very good job at it was well especially taking out all the food stains on my cloths. I'm pretty clumsy when it comes to dropping food on myself. I've been tempted several of times to take my laundry here because they also have wash and fold service. I believe they charge 1.25 a lb for laundry. read more

Was in norcal and came to this cleaners to get my maid of honor dress fitted. The girl helping me did a great job with the measurements... she was friendly and pretty cute too, so that was a plus. They were able to finish the alterations by the next day and the alterations were done perfectly.. perfect length and fit.. The price for all the work they did was very reasonable and affordable. My favorite place to go! Friendly place, punctual, always accommodating, and prices are average. The alterations are perfect! I bring stuff there about every other month or so to get altered. I have tried several cleaners in Hercules, the ones next to UPS are terrible and your clothes always come back with a stench on them. This place your clothes feel andsmell clean. I'd give this place 3.5. Tried this place out and the quality of the dry cleaning is pretty good, I like that they do not staple a number to the tag on each of your items. Other places do and it is annoying getting the staples out of each clothing item. No issues with service. They are prompt and courteous. The price is a little high compared to other places. Just wanted to express that I am very impressed with my alteration for my formal pants that I brought in today. I brought in a pants that needed alteration for a bachelor party that I am attending, needed the pants altered the same day. When I picked it up to try on, I was very excited to see that it was exactly what I wanted! For $20, it was worth it! The price may be off but that's only because I needed it in an hour! My husband had a jacket altered here. First, he seemed to try to rush us out the door when we came to pick it up. When we got home, we discovered the sleeves were uneven, there were crease marks above the hem line, the buttons on the sleeve were not straight and the lining looked like someone had wadded it up. I took it back and the man there was not nice at all. He actually stretched the fabric to line the buttons up and said,"they are straight." He also said that my husband must have looked at it wrong because the sleeves could not be uneven. I have been taking my clothes to this cleaners for many years and I have nothing but high praise for them. They are prompt, affordable, and friendly. They do an amazing job on stains that I often carelessly get on my clothes. The guy who handles the spots examine each piece of clothing in great detail and tries to get every single spot out. Even though he always says he doesn't guarantee it, but every single time he gets them all out. One time, I spilled cranberry juice on a white long sleeve shirt. I thought that the shirt was hopeless and I would have to buy a new one, but I took it to Park Lake Cleaners and gave them a try. When I got the shirt back, I was shocked. It looked like I just bought it from the store! I've also got a bunch of alterations done here. Whether it was hemming up my pants or tailoring my suits, they do such a wonderful job. Sometimes I buy clearance clothing that don't even fit me and bring them to Park Lake Cleaners to have them altered. It is so much cheaper this way than buying clothes at retail.
