Can't say enough about the haircuts I get here....AND, can't speak for everyone else, but the quality of the cut seems to be pretty consistent, regardless of who's cutting my hair. I'm bad because I don't ask their names, but I've been coming here pretty consistently, every 7-8 weeks and get the same cut....#3, all over...."short, sweet and LOW maintenance"...and have yet to walk out unhappy. Time to update my review...still 5-stars...was there today/Tuesday and it was the taller, mid-aged Asian barber who was working early, he's excellent, has cut my hair several times...he's quick, quiet, I'm in and out in 15 minutes...just the way I like it...and cleans up all the loose hairs off your head, shoulders, clothes, too...can't ask for more...great value, too...!!! read more

Worst haircut I have ever received. It was mainly due to a lack of effort or even care. I like to try new barbers. My haircut is not a complicated one but there are only a few who have gotten right and I left fully satisfied. I go back to that barber until they leave or I move. Ridiculous. I've been a regular customer for years - when they charged $12.00 for a haircut. Then it went up to $16.00 for a haircut. I went in today and the new price? $21.00. To be simple enough, I made a yelp account just so u could try to save people from this place. I told her what u wanted (bald fade blended on the sides) and showed her a picture. I said to keep the sides probably a 2 or 3 because my hair is long on too and she said,"If you want like picture I make it like picture." I let her do her thing, ended up getting a zero all the way up with no blend at all. Horrible haircut, horrible service. I hate giving a bad review... If you need a quick touch up then this place is ok. They do a quick job. I was out in 13min. The lady just cut around my head and not the top inside/middle...etc. (she cut the front forehead are so it looked cut, but no hair beyond the front was cut. The middle of my head has hair way longer than the front...not what I asked for. I'm not bald...so I guess it was ok. To me it's worth to pay more and get a quality haircut or go somewhere else. My husband has been coming here for a long time and this is the only place where he gets a cut and comes out very happy. We took our 14 year old son here for a cut and style and thank god Larry was the one who cut and style our sons hair. My husband and my son is very satisfied with the turn out. I found this place through Yelp. I was hoping for a $9 haircut but as everything goes, the price went up to $12. Still not bad, I don't know if you could find a better deal any where else in the bay area. I was very pleased with the haircut, just a simple fade. The Vietnamese girl cutting my hair was very nice but sometimes it's hard to understand her broken English. She does have her children running around the shop during certain hours. I only had one gripe and the reason I only gave it four stars. I decided to get a straight razor shave. I didn't bother asking how much it cost, I just went along with it. After she was done the total came out to $30 bucks. I did get some nicks a scratches, something that I could have done with my Gillette razor myself. So after everything is said and done I spent $35 dollars including tip, more than I expected. Go for the haircut. read more

These guys are great. They supply just what im after from a barber shop. I want to get in and out fast, I want good friendly service at a good price and I want a great haircut. They come through on all accounts. I generally go in the middle of the day because I freelance at home and i live close by, so if you show up at rush hour, your mileage may vary. Cash only- no credit card in 2017 in the Bay Area Parking issues- street parking only on a major street so you have to park and maybe walk a block or 2 depending how busy it is, it's in downtown and pay for parking at the meter. Haircut- It was okay, same as any haircut I gotten at great clips which is fine but the place has a fly flying around in front of me while I'm getting a haircut. What happened to keeping the place clean. Then the guy showed me the side cut through his hand held mirror. He shows me the sides through a mirror and I missed the back because am used to the handheld mirror to show the back of my head. The other mirror is further away since am facing the tv, not the actual mirror at the front that any normal customer is used to. So I asked him to even the sideburns since it was still a bit bushy which he did but this is basic stuff am not supposed to point out. Then I asked him to let me see the back where he said "oh god, I showed it to you. Look" and how dumb of me, am supposed to look at the actual mirror at the back facing me while he holds his hand held mirror.-sarcasm- He's lucky to have gotten a $4 tip on a $16 haircut.$2 would have done it given the service. I had three points to my criteria. It had to have a barber pole, be cut by an old guy and not be a woman but rather an old guy. Sexist? Eh, so. Gynocologysts should be female, barbers should be men. There was no barber pole except the one painted in the window. The guy said "like you have but shorter?" I said "yes, but leave the top kinda long because I use pomade." he said ok. 20 minutes, 12 bucks before tip. I'm happy. This guy is no "Nicky the Barber" but 4:15 on a weekday, SF may as well be on the moon. The "shot of whiskey place" in temescal does only one cut and not particularly well. I really wanted to give this place 5 stars and become a regular customer due to its location but after 3 visits, I just can't. I gotten my hair cut hair once here by the lady (which turned out good after she was happily to correct some missing hairs left on my head). The two other times the older gentleman gave me a cut. My hair cut is very simple, buzzcut all around with a #1 blade, line up the headline, sideburns and neck taper. Both times my head line and side-burns were uneven. There is none much I can do at this point unless I go completely bald but that won't happen. What has been done, cannot be un-done. I will go here and give the older lady a shot and request her now on. Otherwise I will continue go to Pretty Hair Salon on Park St (which is also $12) if I can. 2.5/5 read more

The first time I went to this spot for a haircut, they gave me a very nice cut, I absolutely loved it! This was when they were $14 a cut... As time went on they did a shoddy job, for $16 a cut plus tip? You would think that they would do a better job than that, especially when it is not busy. Ever since moving to the east bay from Washington. DC, last April, I've had trouble finding a good barber. I like my hair buzzed very short. Women never want to cut it as short as I like. I decided to give Park Street Barber Shop a try -- and am I ever happy. I got the closest buzz I've had in years. The young gentleman who cut my hair also trimmed up my goatee and eyebrows and mustache. And I got a soothing intense head/neck massage. Best of all, I was in and out in under 15 minutes. They do not take credit cards, but were happy to point out there was a Wells Fargo ATM a few storefronts away. After my great haircut, I celebrated with delicious pho across the street. The main barber who always works there has the "bald sides and side part" hair style is very rude. Hard to understand, if you ask a question he gets annoyed. Instead of wanting to make the customer happy with a hairstyle he seems annoyed that he has to give you a haircut. By the end of the haircut he scratched me up by how hard pressed with the clippers on the back of my neck and he did not wipe away the hairs that had fallen on my face.
