This place has made an awesome comeback since closing for the short time. It's very clean, good service and great food. The stuffed jalapeño-bacon was large and spicy as expected. It big enough for 4 as an appetizer. The wings are cooked perfect and on the "jumbo" size type. Very filling. We got the mango habanero sauce...loved it The brisket was very tender and a larger than expected portion for lunch. My wife and I split it.... The fries are soft fried and taste delicious. The potato salad was a pleasure to eat. Potato salad varies from place to place, but this one is the one to remember. You won't be disappointed. Michelle was our server. She was great and helpful. My wife and I were so excited about the Park Vista reopening until we ate there. The place and people were nice, but the food is not what it was before Covid. Eating supper, I had fried flounder and fries, and my wife had grilled chicken. We both thought the food was bland, and the fries were most likely frozen and baked crinkle cuts. I wish the folks there well, but it definitely was not worth the 45-minute ride. read more

Booked a night at this joint and it appeared to be abandoned and vacant....deserted as soon as we entered the driveway. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.....far far away. Looks like a great place to film a horror movie. Look up reviews on the web, sure wished I did before I booked it in their website. Oh and about their website. Total 100% fabrication of picstures of the rooms, the restaurant and the quality of everything they have on the website. It ranks as #1 on my top 100 "Do not go list". Scam artist. We had the Crab Cakes with Mac and cheese and Beer Battered fries and it was excellent! We also had a chance to try the House Specialty Beef Brisket which was excellent!!! We love this place! Friendly staff and great food we feel so lucky to live right across the street! The brisket Mac and cheese is AMAZING! The cheese is from Ashe County cheese and it is really a special dish. We always get the bang shrimp and the fried green tomato sandwich is very good as well. read more

Worst service ever! Food was good, but no choices available. They were out of almost everything on the menu. It shouldn't take 2 hours to eat a single course meal. The most disturbing incident of the visit was all the staff stopped working and went outside to visit a friend with a dog. The staff continued to pet the dog and let him lick their hands (kitchen staff included) and returned to work without washing their hands. Will NOT ever return! Totally unacceptable! read more

Excellent food and over the top great service! The crab cakes were truly amazing! Everyone in our party of 11 enjoyed their meals-burger, Hangover burger, chicken tenders, spinach dip appetizer, BLT, chicken salad sandwich, etc. I wish I took pics of all the great dishes. They served delicious potato chips and ranch when ordering. We met owners Chris & Amanda and they have a great thing here. The restaurant has been opened for just a week but suspect it'll be happily serving customers for years to come. Check it out and enjoy the beautiful views! We stopped in for a delicious lunch today! Our server was very attentive and the food was delicious. They were accommodating for our 4 month old and offered a high chair for us to set his carrier onto. Our favorite items were the bang shrimp appetizer, the crab cake sandwich (fries were great too!), and the fried green tomato sandwich. Can't wait to visit again. The brisket is amazing. Best burgers around, with the recent addition of the local grass-fed beef burger (a little more expensive and worth it). Terrific chicken salad. The local grits are as good as you will ever eat. The Park Vista Chips (fried potatoes like you've never had before) are beautifully seasoned and are a great as a side or as an appetizer to share. The kid's meal chicken tenders are crazy-good. Adult meals are $8-11, and kid's meals are $5. Portions are hearty. The dining room often fills up, and service isn't always fast (everything is made fresh to order). But the food is always worth the wait. If you have a large group or if your are in a big hurry, you should probably call ahead during peak lunch or dinner hours. The dessert selection varies, but all the desserts are homemade and great. I especially recommend the creme brulee, cheesecake and carrot cake. read more

Super excited they remodeled and reopened the restaurant. We come to our mountain top several times a year to get away and hate that we have to go to town to get food. So excited we have such a great place 2 miles from our mountain top. They have a motel newly remodeled also so all our Florida friend can stay local and affordable great food. My wife and I ate at Park Vista for dinner tonight. The food was remarkably good. What a gem in an unlikely place. My wife had the beef brisket sandwich. She was thrilled with it. I had the classic cheeseburger with bacon. It was as good as anything I have had at Hops Burger Bar, which is saying a lot. It was a surreal experience for me. My uncle built the original Park Vista Restaurant back in the 60s. The property originally belonged to my maternal grandfather, whose country store stands adjacent to the restaurant. Another uncle built the original Park Vista Motel. After my uncles passed away, the property declined substantially and I expected that eventually all the buildings would be demolished. To see them remodeled and thriving, especially the restaurant is astounding. I even met a much younger 2nd cousin who helps manage the restaurant, a wonderfully encouraging and unexpected delight! The placed was packed on a Wednesday evening. Remarkable! read more

The menu here is all over the place... it's actually kind of confusing to read. We waited about 30 minutes to be seated because this spot is very small. It took a while for our waitress to get to us but the hostess was at least trying to get us drinks. We all ordered the brisket (15.50+) and mac and cheese with chips and green beans. The meat portion is pretty small but this place is clearly not for locals. The brisket had a good smoke and flavor to it but was very fatty and comes with no BBQ sauce but a white sauce on the side instead - it tastes like ranch, there is no such thing as "white BBQ sauce." I asked for real BBQ sauce and was given a mixture of A1 and Worcestershire sauce, which is also NOT BBQ sauce. So I had to eat fairly dry brisket. I can't wait to turn this dish into BBQ brisket mac and cheese when I get home with real BBQ sauce. Let me just say the service was bad. It was not friendly nor was it expedient. All in all we were there 2 hours and got one refill which we had to ask the hostess for. The whole thing was just awkward and they honestly made us feel like we did not belong there. No one gave us a dessert menu or even asked. A random older lady saw us just sitting there waiting and asked us if we needed the check. The owner cleared our table but didn't even ask us if everything was alright. Like I said, bad service. read more

We had dinner here two nights while we we were staying nearby. We had the beef brisket the first night which was the best we had ever had .
