I have thick long hair that's naturally black, I love it to be as blonde as it will go! She's helped me maintain the health of my hair, and get me to the perfect shade of blonde. She is professional, hilarious and I look forward to seeing her and our therapy sessions. I felt like she did not truly listen to my requests (also loudly chewed her gum while she styled me), and cut my hair shorter than I requested. I made my desired length clear at the start of the session and also provided several inspiration photos. She chopped my hair about 3 inches shorter than my desired length and took off volume in her attempts to layer it. My cut turned out to be wispy and short. When I contacted the salon owner, Lauren, letting her know I was unhappy with my cut and experience, she only said "sorry" and defended the stylist. No offer to fix or remedy or anything to make me want to return to the salon. So I won't be back. Neither will my daughter, who has had 2 haircut there. Let this be a lesson to anyone thinking about visiting this salon: Choose your stylist carefully and know that Manolo's will not make any attempts to fix a stylist's mistake.

My original appointment was on Saturday at 1:00 p.m., but I received a call that morning letting me know the head spa specialist was sick and they needed to reschedule. I completely understood--people get sick. They rescheduled me for Sunday at 2:00 p.m. and even offered an extra massage for being so understanding, which I appreciated. On Sunday, I arrived a few minutes before my appointment. There were two stylists working with clients, and I stood there for a few minutes before someone acknowledged me. After I said I was there for a head spa appointment, I was asked to have a seat for a few minutes. About 15 minutes later, the stylist called me over to her station, performed the included scalp analysis, and then explained that she had gotten behind and needed to finish with her two existing clients. She was very pleasant and engaging, so I didn't mind waiting at first. Unfortunately, "a few minutes" turned into an hour and a half. My 2:00 p.m. appointment didn't actually begin until around 3:30 p.m. Even after I was taken back to the head spa room, I waited another 10-15 minutes before the stylist came in. Since this was my first head spa experience, I didn't know exactly what to expect beyond the videos I'd seen online. To her credit, I believe she completed all of the advertised steps, and she did provide a very nice, extended massage. The treatment itself was enjoyable. The experience fell apart afterward. The package included a blowout, but my hair was simply dried with fingers run through it, with a brush used only briefly. I left with frizzy, poofy hair and ended up having to rewash and style it myself when I got home. I finally left at 5:30 p.m.--three and a half hours after arriving for what should have been a much shorter appointment. The biggest disappointment wasn't the treatment itself; it was the complete lack of respect for my time. I had told my husband I'd be home in about an hour so we could spend the afternoon with our son. Instead, I spent most of my Sunday waiting. I went in hoping for a relaxing experience and left feeling stressed and rushed. I understand that schedules sometimes get off track, and I genuinely appreciated that they accommodated me after having to cancel my first appointment. However, once it became clear they were running this far behind, I wish someone had offered me the option to reschedule again or at least been honest about the delay. I could have made an informed decision instead of spending hours waiting. Based on my experience, I can't say I would return.
