The wedding itself was OK, but there was almost no parking. I wound up parking on the back fence. The room had some cleanliness and repair issues. The curtain sheer was in need od replacement since it was deteriorating. The desk chair was broken and there was some foreign substance on the top of the headboard. Other than that, the room wasn't too bad. The desk staff was nice and seemed to appreciate us bringing these issues to their attention. The breakfast needed help. The breakfast area was tight. The eggs were swimming in water, however, the waffles were good.

I was greeted upon walking in…read moreand the gentleman at the front desk quickly walked me through breakfast times, how to locate the fitness center, where my room was, etc. I was specifically looking for the business center so I could print a document I needed. Yet I found the door to be locked and I couldn't access it with my key. The gentleman said the computer was not working but if I needed something printed I could send it to the business email account. Sigh. When I got up to the room, I noticed the beds looked quite comfortable. I walked into the bathroom, turned on the light and noticed the excessively loud fan. That loud fan was the bane of my existence for my entire stay. It was really loud. I was hungry so I walked next door to get me something to eat and when I returned I realized there was a desk, but no chair. So I had to eat my meal on the bed. Sigh. The room did have a refrigerator, and a microwave, and also a coffee maker. There was also a sofa chair but it looked rather dingy so I didn't want to sit in it. The carpet also looked excessively dingy so I kept my slides on the whole time. But the bed was in fact comfortable so I was able to get a good night's rest! Again, the bathroom fan was so loud. When I hopped in the shower there was good water pressure, but the water never got hot. It wasn't cold, it was warm, but it never got hot. They do provide small bars of soap but less than I was used to. I would have brought my own. I got in late so I wanted to at least get my steps in so I went down to the fitness center to hop on the treadmill. The fitness center is not the best, but it had a treadmill so I wanted to get my steps. However, the light was on a timer so I had to keep swinging a gym towel for it to turn back on. That was so AGGRAVATING. Luckily I wasn't too far away from reaching my step goal. I then tried to work out on that multi -functional machine. They also have it there but it wasn't much use. I did a few chest presses and that was it. I threw in the towel, literally and figuratively, and went back to my room. By the way, the elevators could use some wiping down. When I got off on my floor to throw something in the garbage can the floor was sticky. Ugh. As for the Continental breakfast. It could use a little bit of work. I wasn't too hungry so I thought I'd grab some yogurt. I can usually find a yogurt in my hotels that have Continental breakfast but they didn't have any. They also had cereal but no milk. They did have orange juice. I prefer apple juice so I pulled a cup for that but all that came out was water. They also had a waffle machine and I love waffles but I just didn't have the taste for that. They also had eggs and sausage but it didn't look very appetizing so I just passed. They did have coffee, but I'm a coffee snob and Folgers is not my cup of tea, or should I say coffee. This is one of those situations where you really get what you pay for. A little carpet cleaning, disinfectant, and a little more detail to the small things could go a long way here.

At that time, I specifically mentioned that I had placed the "Do Not Disturb" sign on my door and expressed my hope that it would be respected, as I would not be returning until later that evening due to scheduled meetings. When I returned to my room at approximately 8:45 PM, I was shocked and disturbed to discover that the room had clearly been entered despite the "Do Not Disturb" sign being displayed. The condition of the room was completely different from how I left it: The lights and lamps were turned on, although I left them off. The window shades were fully opened. The bathroom light was on. My clothing bag had been moved from the table to the chair. The nightstand and desk drawers were left opened. The bed cover that I intentionally placed on the floor had been put back onto the bed. I had to go to the front desk, request NEW BEDDING, place the Sheets and all on myself due to the Bed Cover being placed back on the bed which was on the floor! Personal bathroom items had clearly been moved or touched. This situation is extremely disturbing and unacceptable. A guest's privacy, personal belongings, and explicit request not to be disturbed should be respected at all times. To return to a room that had been altered in so many ways without authorization left me feeling uncomfortable and violated. Very disappointed with Charlotte-Burke-Thompson (Front office Manager) and Maguette Loechner (General Manager). This will never be a stay for me ever again, even if it means going to a Marriott Property or others!

I was in Meriden for a work event at a nearby ski park, so this spot was a good choice for a stayover for our group. It has its own restaurant that I did not get to try, a gym and small indoor pool as well. We were offered a free breakfast buffet but the timing was off, it didn't begin until after 8am, which was when we needed to be at our event. I think there was coffee on earlier than that though. The reason for my low rating lies in some of the amenities, or lack thereof. I feel a microwave and mini fridge should be part of any hotel room at this point in our technological age, both were absent. So I picked up the empty ice bucket and scoured the 2nd floor, no ice machine anywhere. Guess they want you to take elevator down to lobby. Also, at about 9 pm when I finally had my shoes off and was resting from the long drive, the fire alarms throughout the whole hotel starting blasting. There was no sign of smoke in my hallway so I called the front desk for info. No fire, so that was good, but they were unable to turn off for at least 10 minutes. Those alarms are seriously loud, not very conducive to relaxing. The actual room was ok, pretty clean, mattress was good and with 2 beds and all the extra pillows, I was considering building a pillow fort. But that water pressure! Best shower I've had in ages, wish I knew the night before.

They served food (one meat (chicken), mashed potatoes and two different times of veggies, three different salad options with dressings and an assortment of breads. Dinner was great, desserts were so so. But they did have a large assortment of those as well. Water, lemonade & iced tea were all available on each table and there was also a bar available for cocktails or beers. I'd recommend using this space for future events for anyone looking.

We had two rooms, the larger one with the kitchen was excellent and we had zero complaints about that one. The other though, my goodness was it bbbaaadddd. This place had a comedy of errors from the get-go, it's hard to even figure out where to begin. But here are some of my biggest complaints. - The breakfast room felt like the A/C was busted and never got below 80 degrees the three nights we were here. I thought it may be linked to the sliding door nearby from the entrance but the air conditioning seemed to be working fine right in the lobby next door, so that wasn't it. It just made the whole experience completely uncomfortable as you dripped sweat into your food. - They never replenished our towels in the room, they just took them and decided to not give us new ones. Even if housekeeping thought we were gone for the stay, why were they not replenished for possibly a next guest? See the attached photo. - Moldy shower curtain and broken shower drains in our room was a nightmare to get our sons bathed and safe in. - The pool was just mysteriously closed for more than 72 hours, it opened back up the final morning as we were checking out. - The men's bathroom next to the pool, the only public bathroom outside of the rooms themselves, was completely clogged and disgusting our entire stay. You would think they would call a plumber to have this fixed immediately but given the lack of any concern or follow up by management for any of the issues they had, it is not surprising this lingered for 3+ days. There was more but it's just exhausting to type it all out, I've given enough reasons for others in terms of our experience to make the best informed decision about you deciding to book here or not. I tried getting some points back for how bad this place was and never got follow up from IHG directly after reporting the issues above. Avoid this place like the plague, there is a reason rates are so low as well as the points to book rooms. I don't know if they are close to closing but top level management does not seem to care one bit about how the location is perceived.
