This place was near my hotel. Came in for lunch. Service was great. Took my order as soon as I was ready. Nice quiet space. Food came out perfect. Fried mushrooms were fresh and amazing. The salmon was so good. Great job!
It's a small place. They serve alcohol. I enjoy breakfast and or lunch at this low key corner spot. Beats the diners in the area. Great service.
Visited this establishment many years ago and wanted to do brunch locally, glad we decided to visit Parlay! Sangria - a bit watered down for my taste and tasted bitter IMO. Pancakes - decent , nothing special. Eggs Benedict- decent, nothing special either. Waitstaff could be a bit more attentive but overall pleasant and nice.
This place is very cute and has a cozy feel. It is pretty small so I wound recommend big groups. I ordered the shroom sandwich with a side of fries and I must say that Parlay did not miss. I was honestly blown away by how good the sandwich was. The oyster was huge and the right amount of crispy. It was seasoned so well and the thick cut of tomato complimented it nicely. I believe the sauce was some sort of house sauce and it was very savory. I would definitely order this dish again. Very pleased with the establishment. Can't wait to visit again :)
The atmosphere was fantastic, very small while still being comfortable. We were seated immediately and seen to immediately, it was at the time only one person there and she was super nice even while handling multiple people. I ordered a medium caramel latte which was a solid 9/10. Nothing too crazy but it was good. Gf got a simple orange juice which was good enough. I got a mixed peppers and onion omelette, 6-7/10. Eggs tasted very bland but they gave side offerings like salt,pepper, ketchup, hot sauce, to make up for it. BE&C was a 8/10. Gf said the bacon could've been better/cooked more, but was overall a good sandwich. The prices here though are amazing compared to other brunch spots which is what gives this an easy 4/5 stars.
Everything was perfect. Delicious. Divine. Creative. Served with love I don't live in Brooklyn. I fear they might not be here next time I am in town. Gotta eat this food again!
Solid lunch spot. Came here on a weekday for lunch with a couple friends. The place wasn't too busy and we were able to seat ourselves at a table right away. I ordered the Malaysian Curry Chicken, which I thought was pretty good. My friend who is a regular here really likes their Fried Chicken Sandwich. Glad I got to try this place!
Parlay has been in my bookmarks for a long time and I finally got to come today! It's a cute cafe and it has a calming and nice ambiance to it where i can just relax I came with my husband and we enjoyed it alot! The roti for the malaysian curry was super crispy but not burnt and the curry itself was delicious with pieces of potatoes and chicken inside. The burger was only okay for me since it didn't have special ingredients and the patty was a bit too well done for my taste, but that's just me - it could be perfect for someone else and it's still a good burger but i wouldn't say it was special. The staff was very friendly and I believe it's a mother daughter owned cafe and that's what i love to see rather than more chains around us. I would recommend for a date tbh!
Great find in Sunset Park and highly recommend for a quick bite or brunch. There is seating outside and limited seats inside. The music was great and at a comfortable level. The staff was attentive and service was wonderful. As an appetizer we ordered the mozzarella sticks and WOW!! They were huge and cheesy and delicious. The food was excellent and cannot wait to return to try other items on the menu!
This was my first time trying this brunch spot . I pass by it often so figured it was time to give it a try . The pace is cash only but does have an atm inside . You order at the "desk" then food is brought to your table . The place isn't huge inside but it's cozy . Cons: When I went to place my order . I inquired about the ingredients of the omelette and let them know of my cheese intolerance . I was told there was no cheese In this dish . When my food arrived sliced my omelette and saw the entire inside filled with melted cheese . I called the waiter over and told her . Very rudely she stated "I told you we don't put cheese in the omelette". I have to open it up for her to see the cheese, then she grabbed the plate . No apology for her mistake and eventually my food came out without cheese . The entire interaction was very off putting hence the 3 star review Pros : I did enjoy the food and the atmosphere . If I had a different waiter this could have been a 4 start review . Definitely order the curry and roti ( it comes with 2 pieces of roti and you can get extra for $3)
I came here years ago and enjoyed their brunch and decided to come here again with a friend since we were in the area. I wanted to try their signature Malaysian curry chicken. They also had a toasted sesame latte that seemed really interesting. You order at the front first before being seated. The environment is pretty nice. It's decorated really nicely and overall a nice place to catch up with a friend. The food however was a bit disappointing. The signature curry was really heavy for my taste with few pieces of chicken and two pieces of potato. The roti that it came with was dry, flakey, and very thick. It wasn't crispy at all but felt more doughy. The French toast my friend got was standard. Nothing special about it. The toasted sesame latte had zero sesame flavor to it. It just tasted like a regular latte. Overall, the food was disappointing and I don't think I would come back again but the environment was pleasant. The staff was nice as well but not as attentive since my water cup was empty for a long time.
Food delicious, although we waited a long time for coffees ( food was already half eaten by the time they came out ) everything was delicious and the man in charge gave us a fruit salad on the house. He forgot our pancake order ( to share for the table) but honestly we weren't in a rush and he was so sweet and the food tasted so good I didn't care.
How lucky am I that I was craving eggs Benedict and I happen to be near this spot? The food, the service, the ambiance, even the clean bathroom - I was very happy with my brunch here and would love to come back next time I'm in the area.
Came here on a Sunday morning and it was 90 degrees+ and humid outside. It was way too hot sitting next to the window in the sun and there was barely any air conditioning. I wanted to eat and just get out of there fast! The food was good but took a really long time to come (30-45mins?). Overall I would come back again most likely not in the summer. It was a really small place which sits only about 20 people and there was a wait after 10:30am or so. The food prices were decent and the service was OK. They were very friendly. read more

My friend recommended this place for brunch, and I was very pleased with his choice. The service was friendly, food was fresh and delicious with reasonable price. I love their coffee art that was nicely done. I will definitely bring my family here next time. read more

THE BEST BRUNCH SPOT IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD! It's hard to find good brunch places in the sunset park/Bensonhurst area until this gem opened up! Their consistent quantity for food and great customer service is the reason why I love them! The place is super bright and comfy! When I went, it was the perfect time, the sun was beaming in, so comfy! The environment there is always so nice. The pullpork sandwich was absolutely delicious! Super juicer and flavorful pullpork mixed with the veggies. YUUUUMMMMM! And the egg Benedict was also amazing. Love how the yolk comes gushing out after I took the first bite, that's exactly what I expected! Overall a very pleasant experience, will definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a very chill and delicious brunch any time! Worth trying out! read more

It was a Thursday early afternoon, and I had not eaten since the morning because I had a late wake up call. However, I needed to study and I also wanted food. It's been a while since I had brunch, so I did some Yelp digging and decided it was time to do some trekking once again. And lo and behold, Parlay! So I headed down to Sunset Park in my Uber, and first thing that I realized when I walked in was the atmosphere. It is super airy and the welcome I receive was really warm. There are windows surrounding the space, and the seats-- bench and otherwise get all of the sunlight. Major heads up: no card. But there's an ATM inside and across the street (1.85$ charge across the street). I was torn between the grilled cheese, of which I had heard many great things about and a standard breakfast. I asked my lovely lady at the counter, whose name I have now forgotten (shame on me), for her preference, and she says the "chocolate chip pancakes for sure." I go, "sweet, let's do it." I added a side of bacon of course-- I mean, come on. Oh! And hot chocolate. That hit chocolate guys: I am not a foam fan. I can't stand it, but on this it WORKED. My pancakes came with freshly cut oranges (mint garnish), cantaloupe, and seedless grapes. I was a happy girl. Very, very happy. As I was about to leave, I was so tempted by the sweet potato fries, but I shall have those in my return, for return I will. Fun stuff: FREE WIFI (up to an hr), outlets to charge, and really dope music. I came at at perfect time around 2 so, not super busy-- but apparently it does get busy, so plan accordingly. Cash only...tell me how could this hipsterish place not accept credit card in this day in age. That's the only downside besides the limited amount of seating available. Everything else is fantastic. Love the interior design and display behind the counter. Best place to have brunch around the area. Can't believe it's on 8th ave because it gives you a whole different vibe. It's as if you're somewhere in Williamsburg meanwhile you're actually in Brooklyn's Chinatown. Oh let me tell you their mums Malaysian curry chicken is the bomb and it has gotten me hooked. Packed with flavor and spices with a side of crispy roti cani. I treat the sliced cucumbers as a side to soothe ones tongue after tasting that spicy goodness. Their succulent pulled pork burger are served on soft brioche buns. On top of that what's not to like about sipping on a cute cup of latte art. Prices are decent and menus vary. Small little shop that whips up big greatness. This is my go to spot for when I'm craving a delicious sandwich or curry chicken. I hope it would become yours too. read more

I loved this new, cozy addition to the neighborhood. Came across this spot on Yelp and I thought why not give it try! The place is really small, but very open space so you don't feel stuffed. It's has about 6 tables and a bar like counter with maybe 3 seats. The place was packed so we sat and ordered at the bar until a table cleared. We ordered the pulled pork, which was good but would have loved if the pork was a bit crunchier (Spanish thing), w/ French fries, eggs benedict (nothing major but I enjoyed it), and banana pancakes. The banana pancakes were great. Overall, the service was ok .. they could definitely use a waitress on the floor, the young lady at the counter doubled as the waitress. Because of that you might feel neglected at times lol. Still, I would go back I love supporting neighborhood joints. read more

friends live close by and we here all the time! affordable, great food, great staff, chill inside always playing good music, jsyk cash only but they have an ATM. I usually get the burger with sweet potato fries and a side of their sriracha mayo and it's always worth it. love it here read more

Came here with my girlfriend one morning for some American brunch. This place is located off Chinatown. It's pretty much in sunset. First thing you'll notice when you walk in is how hipster this place is. It feels very open and the windows are great for people watching (there's not much people here though and a little windex won't hurt). FYI this place has a limited menu so please don't complain when they don't have what you want. Their menu have been posted by yelpers so look before you come. We ordered the Mexican omelette and Egg and bacon sandwich with a side of sweet potato fries. My girlfriend thought the sandwich was lacking some bacon for the price. She should have gotten the omelette with a decent portion of home fries. Cappuccino was decent. Great if you take it to go for a walk as sunset park is just a couple blocks away. read more

One of the best brunch spots in the Sunset Park area. Inside, is relatively quiet and ideal for studying or reading alone. Their espresso drinks are really nice, I even had to get two lattes because I couldn't get enough. Ordered a chicken steak burger that came with hand cut sweet potato fries. The prices are awesome for the portion and quality of the food. The lady taking my order and bringing my order out was extremely nice and attentive. read more

Awesome fried chicken wasabi aoli sauce burger, the sauce have a little wasabi taste, blended very well. And the Burger was well toasted, not too dry or soft, it was a perfect blend with the fried chicken along with the sauce. I have asked to have the sauce on the side instead of on the Burger, so that it will not soften the breads. Great food choice. As for the environment, it's clean and simple, but I feel the place is a bit cold for today's weather. read more

Oh my goodness. My Husband a friend and I were looking for a good brunch spot, sick of all the so called amazing places in bay ridge that are mediocre at best and super expensive to boot. We found Parlay on Yelp, and were intrigued with all the amazing reviews. We decided to go, and boy oh boy am I so glad we did! Not only was everything very reasonably priced, but the flavors! So delicious! My French toast was perfectly seasoned and not soggy in the least, something that inevitably always happens to French toast, but not at parlay! Friend got the pancakes which she loved. Hubby got the fried chicken sandwich which he said was good, but definitely wished the menu specified it was dark meat. Still good though. We will most definitely come back. read more

The mum's curry chicken was very appetizing along with the omelet and eggs. This had an all day menu which always make customers happy. The place is very clean. But as in my opinion the wasabi fried chicken was not what I was expecting but 4 stars read more

This is my first review ever! I gotta say that i was very happy to see this vintage cafe shop open up in my neck of the woods. This place is so kid friendly and quick especially the two times I've been there with my two toddlers. We ordered the banana pancakes topped with fresh fruits and my girls gobbled it all up each time. When my girls approve, I approve. :) I would totally come back for more and try other food on the menu! Reason why I didn't give them five stars because I wish they had more seatings to accommodate the crowd. It's that popular! read more

Serving brunch, all day every day. The beau and I were seated promptly on a Saturday afternoon, around 2pm. There's 6 tables in total--2 big tables on one side and 4 small ones on another and stools by the register. It's nice, warm and cozy inside. The string lights and the little plants here and there add a nice touch to the whole ambiance. We were famished and that led to over ordering but, no regrets. We ordered the following: - Sweet Potato Fries ($5.50): Comes with a generous amount with spicy mayo sauce that you ask for seconds cause lets be honest, one isn't enough. It's crispy on the outside, evenly cut and just.. heavenly. I'd order this again. - Pulled Pork Sandwich ($8.25): Devoured. Demolished. Gone in seconds. It comes with slaw on a brioche bun with half sour pickles on the side. Soooo good and soooo filling. - Grilled Cheese ($3.25): Cheddar and mozzarella on pullman sourdough. It's one of those simple but homey dishes that brings you back to your childhood. I also dipped this in the Malaysian Curry Chicken (Mmm..), which brings me to the next dish. - Mum's Malaysian Curry Chicken ($9.25): So, I'm pretty sure we could've licked the bowl clean except that we were so full from the above three dishes. It's abundant with chicken, potatoes and has the right amount of spice. They give you two roti and you can ask for more if you'd like. - Cappuccino ($3.50): I also got a small cappuccino to go. A great way to warm your belly after a carb-heavy meal. You have to find street parking but it took us less than ten minutes to find a spot on a Saturday afternoon. Also, I think we lucked out or came in at good time cause I can easily see people waiting for seats during its peak hours. Staff were friendly and service was great and prompt despite that there were only two servers working at that time. It also doesn't hurt that everything is reasonably priced. Overall, I'm so glad I found this spot! Definitely coming back again next time to try some of their other dishes. read more

The place is cute, the atmosphere is pretty relaxed - seems like a nice little coffee shop to do some reading/work. Have to say that the bacon egg and cheese wasn't all that I expected (from the pictures). I was really looking forward to that runny yolk and the fluffy bun but .... the coffee was good though. read more

Came here on a Tuesday with 2 friends at 6:25pm with only 5 minutes until the kitchen closes. I ordered an eggs Benedict - it was okay as well as the potatoes that came with it. Friends got the grilled cheese which they liked - the cheese was gooey to their preference but was too salty for them. My friend like their hand dripped coffee, it smelled and tasted great but it had a slight burnt aftertaste. Interior had rustic warm feels - very williamsburgesque - not that many cafes like this in this area. I'd rate 3.5 but rounded up for value. Prices are better than other brunch places but the food is mediocre...take your pick! :) read more

This place is legit a hidden gem. Thanks to Yelp I found a new place for brunch without having to travel far. This place is great for brunch/lunch. This place isn't the biggest, so expect a wait. I'm digging the Asian-American style concept. They serve things from Eggs Benedict, sandwiches, to curry roti. They also have a nice selection of coffees. With that being said, they also serve beer & wine. If you haven't already, I recommend giving this place a try. The food is cheap & portions are generous. Overall good experience. read more
